Suddenly, the monster that stood in front of Alen dropped to his knees. He clutched his body as an invisible force crushed his soul.

Before he could continue, his connection to his physical body was severed. His soul shattered into several pieces, and his body began to melt into a pool of rotten, dark liquid. Even his soul seemed to be erased from existence.
Alen couldn’t see the soul shattering, but he could sense that the monster had officially died.
He stood in awe at his sudden stroke of luck. He didn’t fully understand the notification on his status window regarding "fate" or "destiny," but he felt happy that an undefeatable monster had vanished from existence.
The grimoire that had been floating in the air fell to the ground now that its master was dead.
Alen picked it up.

As Alen stared at the several interface windows, he finally enjoyed the rewards of his hard work. He hadn’t just gained a priceless artifact; he had acquired several powerful upgrades.
He summoned the Escape Ticket into his hand. It was a golden color with the imprint of a star. It didn’t provide much information, but it was essentially a "second chance" at life. If he ever felt he couldn’t pass a trial, he had an out.
He also gained favor from the ’Laws’ of the World. Alen wasn’t entirely sure how that would be useful yet, but he was glad to have it.
He closed his eyes and sensed the massive, endless space hidden within his own shadow. It was a small-scale pocket dimension. He didn’t even need to carry a storage ring anymore.
Having successfully broken through to a new rank, Alen finally let out a sigh of relief.

He could now confidently fight opponents stronger than himself. He had fought several stronger opponents before, but every time, he had been forced to rely on dirty tricks, and traps to win. As Alen pulled his eyes away, the status window vanished into thin air. He looked around his surroundings, which were slowly disintegrating into particles of light now that the trial was officially completed.
Alen looked over at the unconscious bodies of Serene and Zane. He couldn’t exactly leave without them.
"Sigh... What a pain. Do I have to carry them out myself?"
He walked toward them, stopping halfway as a thought crossed his mind.
"Oh, I remember Zane has that shadow magic. It could carry him instead. But will it listen to my commands?"
Alen looked down at the floor near the blonde boy.
"Hey, stupid guy’s shadow, can you hear me? Can you carry him so we can exit?"
For a few seconds, nothing happened. Suddenly, a pitch-black silhouette rose smoothly from Zane’s shadow. It was purely dark; no face or features were visible. It didn’t speak. It simply reached down and lifted Zane securely over its shoulder.
Alen looked at the faceless entity. ’Damn, this guy still has plenty of shadows. I can sense dozens more lurking in there...’
In the last battle, Zane had sacrificed many of his shadows to deflect the Dungeon Master’s attack, which had caused severe physical backlash to his body. Yet, he evidently still had a massive arsenal of them left in reserve.
Alen shook his head and walked over to the naive lady. He noticed that she was heavily bruised and grazed, and her dress had been badly torn during the chaotic fight. Without a word, Alen took off his own coat, draped it gently over her body, and lifted her carefully into his arms.
As he stood up, the space in front of him began to distort. A spatial whirlpool opened in the empty air—the exit portal.
With the faceless shadow leading the way, Alen stepped into the portal to finally return to the real world.
