Chapter 1318: Chapter 1315: Drinking All Night?
Delphine was woken up in the morning by a video call from Benjamin and Nicholas.
The two little ones had to get up early for school, so they wanted to video call Mommy first thing in the morning.
"Mommy, Benjamin is wearing a new dress today." The little girl held her white rabbit, pouting and unhappily tugging on her red plaid dress. She had many new dresses, all bought by Daddy and Mommy, great-grandpa, and uncle. Wearing new dresses every day was not exciting at all.
"Hmm, the new dress is very pretty," Delphine said with a gentle smile.
"Mommy, Benjamin doesn’t want to go to school," Nicholas, already with his backpack on, calmly said from the side.
"Clearly, it’s brother who doesn’t want to go to school. School is not fun at all," Benjamin hummed in her little voice, charmingly saying.
Ever since Benjamin dominated the kindergarten, she had been passively resisting the idea of going to school every day.
In the past, whenever the subject of not going to school came up, Ignatius would coldly snort, and the little one would obediently go to school. Yesterday, Ignatius took Delphine to Brocade City, so naturally, Benjamin felt she had nothing to fear.
As they spoke, the door was opened from the outside, and Ignatius came back.
Delphine gave a few words of advice to the little ones before ending the video call. She vaguely knew that Ignatius hadn’t come back to sleep the night before, and now seeing him looking unusually disheveled, with wrinkled clothes and messy hair, she was momentarily surprised.
She knew very well how deep this man’s cleanliness obsession was.
"Drank all night?" Delphine got up and walked over, sniffing the smell of alcohol on him. It wasn’t too strong, but still unpleasant.
The handsome man had a slightly grim look on his face, reached out to embrace the soft figure, resting his head on her slender shoulder, and said in a low voice, "I’ll go take a shower right away."
The events of last night were considered a great humiliation by Ignatius, so he naturally wouldn’t mention them to Delphine. Since his surgery, his body’s resistance was weaker than before. Last night, he drank too much and fell into Griffith’s trap. Originally, Ignatius thought that since Delphine had been well taken care of by the Squire family brothers previously, he could be magnanimous and not bother with Griffith. But then, haha. If he didn’t show those Squire brothers a thing or two, Ignatius Leclair could just write his name backwards.
Saying he’s going to shower, but the man who hadn’t held his wife all night was reluctant to let go, holding Delphine and adorably nuzzling and kissing her, like a gentle and obedient Samoyed.
"You’re so heavy." Delphine, tickled by his kisses, pushed him hard and couldn’t help but laugh. Men can really be a handful when they act cute.
Perhaps after the surgery, Ignatius still appeared cold and indifferent in public; in private, he was domineering in bed, and off the bed, they were intimately inseparable like a koala. She really doubted if his mind hadn’t been also affected during the surgery.
What happened to the aloof male god?
"I missed you." His voice was low and tempting. That dog Griffith made him miss cuddling his wife for a whole night. Thinking of this, the man’s eyes grew deeper, and he said, "Honey, when do we go home?"
He’d never come back to this lousy place again.
Delphine saw his dislike for Brocade City. He probably wasn’t willing to come see Griffith, so she softly said, "Let’s go back today. Originally, I just wanted to see if he was truly happy, so it can put my mind at ease."
"He seems very happy. At least someone’s finally able to handle that troublemaker. Let him cause havoc in Brocade City," Ignatius sneered, then snuggled with Delphine for a while longer before heading to the shower, bringing Delphine along to shower together, where they spent another hour being affectionate.
Griffith was awake early anyway, owing to his biological clock, but now that this single man of over thirty had a delicate little bride, he was naturally indulging in lazing around after the wedding night.
The man was holding the little rabbit in his arms, staring intently at her sweet pure face, not daring to look away.
The old butler, noticing the couple hadn’t appeared by late morning, knew that last night was a success. Seeing Griffith coming downstairs, he joyfully asked, "Would the young master like some lunch?"
The old butler even changed his form of address.
Griffith was indeed a little hungry, nodded, and said, "I’ll have lunch in the room. I can take it up myself." Alina definitely wouldn’t be able to come downstairs in her state.
"What about Leah and the others?" The man, now fully awake, suddenly recalled that in his nervousness last night, he might have punched Ignatius while drinking with him, causing some guilt. If he really injured him, Delphine might hold him accountable!
"Major General Shea took Miss Leah back to Nanyang. Mr. Leclair and Miss Delphine also went back." When they left, Miss Leah was still drunk and unconscious, directly carried away by Major General Shea.
The old butler thought that the good news for this couple should be near, as Major General Shea seemed particularly caring.
Griffith raised an eyebrow; so after the wedding night, even before he started showing off, everyone had already left?
