Chapter 1310: Chapter 1307: Sudden Awakening and Repentance

Aurora’s words hit Zoe Kingston and her daughter’s thoughts dead on. Nowadays, whoever gets involved with the Coldwell Family ends up hurt, so they haven’t dared to sleep at home, hiding at the Kingston Family instead. The debt collectors have pitched tents outside the Coldwell mansion, settled in.

"I’ve already had the lawyer draft the divorce agreement. If there’s no issue, hurry up and get your dad to sign it. Dragging this out, do you want to wear our mother-daughter pair out?" Zoe Kingston saw Ian Coldwell was awake and spoke sharply, no longer bother to maintain her previously virtuous demeanor.

That old man doesn’t want to divorce even on his deathbed. There’s no way she’ll bear the huge debt of the Coldwell Family. Fortunately, she’s amassed considerable assets from Coldwell Clan over the years, all placed under her brothers’ names at her maternal home. Otherwise, she would’ve wasted her youth.

"You, you, you wicked woman." Ian Coldwell struggled to get up, but having lain in bed for so long, he panted heavily and couldn’t get up. The people in the ward looked on coldly, not one stepping forward to help.

Ian Coldwell had a glorious life, calling the shots in Brocade City, never expecting to end his days alienated from family.

"Dad, please sign it. Do you want to harm me and mom? You’re about to die anyhow; let Aurora handle the debt for you. Haven’t you always loved mom and me?" Brooke Coldwell chirped childishly from the side, her words stabbing into Ian Coldwell’s heart like knives.

"You, ungrateful daughter." Ian Coldwell, furious, yanked out his IV needle, wishing he could get up and beat Brooke to death. He always cherished his youngest daughter, disliked the eldest, forgot about his first wife, and drove Aurora out, indifferent. Yet his cherished one betrayed him so.

Aurora frowned, turning to Griffith Squire. Griffith kept his arms crossed, watching the Coldwell family’s antics. Seeing Aurora’s look, he gave her an encouraging nod to handle it herself.

Aurora then looked at Ian Coldwell, speaking indifferently, "Father, since things have come to this, just sign the divorce agreement. There’s something I’ve never said; father’s worsening condition can’t be divorced from the stepmother’s involvement."

This matter was buzzing all over Brocade City.

Seeing all facades torn down, Zoe Kingston’s coldly laughed, "Indeed, old man, sign it already. I’ve stayed with you all these years, never thought you’d be so incompetent. Near death, the company is still ruined."

"If you don’t sign, today is your death day." Zoe Kingston’s brother stepped forward, menacingly threatening.

Zoe Kingston placed the divorce agreement on the small table in the ward, then with Brooke, flanked Ian Coldwell, forcing him to sign it.

Not only that, they signed an agreement that the mother and daughter would have no further ties with the Coldwell Clan.

Aurora felt reluctant, but to sever ties with her stepmother and sister, and prevent them from troubling the Coldwell mansion in the future, she could only watch as the stepmother forced Ian Coldwell to sign the divorce.

"Rest assured, I will fulfill my duties, covering your medical expenses, supporting you." She said softly.

"Medical expenses and debts too, sister, you truly are a filial daughter." Brooke Coldwell beamed, Aurora was oblivious to how daunting the Coldwell Family’s debts were; even a lifetime wouldn’t pay them off.

After signing, Ian Coldwell fell rigidly, his face pale. He didn’t faint; his eyes stared blankly at the ceiling, too choked to speak. Hearing the conversation between his daughters, his hands suddenly clutched the bedsheet, looked at Aurora, and tearfully expressed remorse, his mouth moving, but only uttering guttural sounds.

Aurora, seeing his mouth form apologies, averted her gaze, her eyes slightly red.

Griffith Squire, who learned lip reading, naturally saw Ian Coldwell was regretting. He smirked; it’s about time for an apology. Throughout the years, Aurora suffered immensely, harmed most by her father. No apology, no help.

"Brooke, let’s go, truly unlucky, we need a good cleanse at home." Zoe Kingston didn’t want to stay a moment longer, dragging Brooke home.

"What, ready to leave already?" Griffith Squire smirked, speaking leisurely, "I heard Ms. Kingston is the vice president of some association in Brocade City? Specially targeting me? Leaving without greeting when you see me?"

Zoe Kingston’s face changed slightly. Griffith Squire returned unexpectedly; none knew his details. But she guessed, having survived the perilous Imperial City, he likely lacked his old power; could he still control the entire Brocade City?

"Indeed, Griffith Squire, knowing it, do you dare stop me?" Zoe Kingston arrogantly sneered.

"Stop you? Who do you think you are?" The handsome, devilish man grinned one moment and coldly ordered the next, "Here, bind everyone in the ward, send them to Director Fang directly, for poisoning the stepdaughter, murder attempt on the ex-husband, commercial crimes, Kingston Family are all accomplices, enough to jail you for ten, eight years."

Before Griffith Squire finished speaking, his subordinates came in from the door, swiftly restraining everyone without even drawing weapons. Shouts and pleas echoed throughout.

"Griffith Squire, dare using violence, I’ll sue you, ruin you." Zoe Kingston screamed.

Griffith Squire casually shoved both hands into his pants pockets, laughing wickedly, "Oh, since you say I’m violent, how could I not meet your expectations, hmm?"

With a signal, his men picked each individual up, taking everyone out of the ward, fists and feet flying, cries constantly ringing.

When Director Fang hurriedly arrived at the hospital, the Kingston Family lay on the ground, battered rather badly. Zoe Kingston and Brooke Coldwell huddled together, trembling.

"I’ll leave them to you. Have you received the related evidence?" Griffith Squire stood at the ward door, lounging with narrowed eyes, smiling.

Looking at Griffith Squire’s amiable smile, Director Fang felt cold sweat in his palms, quickly smiling, "Received it, thank Mr. Squire. Such trivial matters, yet you painstakingly gathered evidence; a little interrogation would suffice."

"Then take them away." Griffith Squire lazily said, the uproar gave him a headache.

Director Fang quickly nodded with a smile, swiftly taking the ill-fated Kingston Family to the police station, faster than a rabbit, wiping sweat while running. Truly blind, how dare they provoke Griffith Squire.

Director Fang, adept in the officialdom, knew about Griffith Squire’s quick release, courtesy of the Shaw Family’s intervention.

Rumors privately circulated that the Cox Family’s case reversal resulted from a deal between the Shaw Family and the authorities, trading power for the Cox’s innocence. Such a family, surely beyond their meddling.
