Chapter 1303: Chapter 1300: An Impatiently Passionate Kiss Upon Meeting
Aurora Coldwell was sharing a bed with someone for the first time, especially with such a stunningly beautiful woman. As she watched Leah slip into vintage green silk pajamas, her curvaceous figure and exquisite features were mesmerized, even Aurora, as a woman, couldn’t help but drool over her. She exclaimed in admiration, "Leah, Major General Griffith Squire is truly lucky."
Leah chuckled at her words and said, "Hurry up and take a shower. If you’re hungry, I’ll have someone order us a late-night snack."
Meanwhile, the fortunate Major General was braving the cold wind, driving alone back to the Shaw Mansion.
"Is there any late-night snack available?" Aurora blinked her eyes with a hint of surprise. She had just arrived in the Imperial City and was still excited. She didn’t want to sleep so early, especially when she was sharing a bed with Leah—she preferred to chat instead.
For some reason, Aurora felt an urge to confide in Leah.
"Of course, as long as Richard Shaw hasn’t gone far, what do you feel like eating?" Leah quickly dialed Richard’s number.
A man’s voice answered the phone promptly, asking in a deep tone, "Leah?"
"Richard, I want a late-night snack," Leah said coquettishly, hugging her blanket. Her beautiful eyes twinkled like crescent moons.
Her rare sweet and coquettish voice melted the man’s heart unknowingly, making him smile and ask, "What do you want to eat?"
"Something spicy and sweet. Wait, let me check with Aurora." Leah lifted her small face, smiling at Aurora, shaking her phone, and asked, "What would you like to eat? Speak up, let Major General Griffith Squire deliver it for you."
Aurora burst into laughter, her whole face becoming vibrant. However, being naturally reserved, she quickly restrained her smile and softly replied, "I can eat both spicy and sweet things. I’ll have whatever you’re having."
"Easy to satisfy. Griffith must be pleased." Leah teased, biting her seductive red lips. Then she quickly told Richard her long list of desired late-night snacks, also ordering some famous Imperial City pastries for Aurora to try.
"Wait for me," the man’s voice was low and filled with gentle longing, like a lover’s whisper.
"Okay." Leah’s cheeks flushed slightly. Why did it feel like she was being flirted with by Richard? Could this blockhead be capable of flirting? She blinked, finding it amusing—Richard was like an ancient ironwood tree, far from becoming a refined charmer.
With nothing better to do, Leah applied a face mask and then urged Aurora to take a shower.
Ever since Griffith’s release, Leah was brimming with endless vitality. Her father’s case had been vindicated, her brother had returned safely, and Richard Shaw was by her side, making life suddenly seem wonderful. When she had time, all she wanted was to indulge in food as a celebration.
It’s a pity that Delphine wasn’t in the Imperial City, having been whisked away to the South Seas by Ignatius Leclair; otherwise, the three of them could drink till dawn, a true delight of earthly life.
"Aurora, when you next visit the South Seas, I’ll introduce you to my best friend. She’s amazing—she won an actress award when she was young. Her first movie won a prize, and she’s crucially very beautiful, just like you," Leah excitedly called out to the bathroom.
Aurora was quick with her shower, rinsing away the fatigue of her journey with hot water. Worrying that Major General Griffith would arrive quickly, she hastily got out, not daring to wear pajamas, and slipped into her loungewear, donning a loose overcoat. Hearing Leah, she said, "Are you talking about Delphine? I’ve met her; when Major General Griffith had an incident, she and Mr. Leclair came to the Coldwell Mansion to find Griffith."
Leah was slightly surprised that she had met Delphine, remembering how Griffith would constantly give Richard attitude, interfering in their romance. To have such a lovely girl by his side for two years and do nothing with her, she couldn’t help but want to give him a push.
"Actually, you and Delphine give off a similar impression: sweet and innocent. Men adore you both. My brother even had a crush on Delphine." Leah dug a pit for Griffith to fall into.
In reality, it was an open crush that was heartlessly rejected. Leah figured Griffith’s emotions at the time were through the roof, wanting to shelter Delphine under his wing; otherwise, seeing her with Ignatius, why didn’t he do anything drastic?
Her brother was likely missing a part when it came to love, completely oblivious. She could only help him this much. Griffith being a dead end, she had to work with Aurora instead.
Aurora’s bright eyes dimmed slightly, recalling the woman she saw at the Coldwell Mansion half a month ago, truly breathtakingly beautiful, with a remarkable demeanor—world-weary coldness mixed with subtle emotions in her eyes.
No wonder Griffith maintained his purity, not embroiled in any scandals or socializing. Having a crush on such a beautiful girl, everyone else must seem ordinary to him.
Keeping her budding feelings about Griffith buried, Aurora decided it was best to remain clear-headed.
Leah hadn’t realized that in matters of love, Aurora was even more oblivious than Griffith. The revelation about the crush only pushed her further into her shell.
Richard soon arrived at the hospital with the take-out, knocking on the door from outside.
Leah casually threw on a large coat, lightly covering her sensual pajamas, and opened the door, showing her lovely face, smiling, "Delivery guy, thank you for your hard work."
"No trouble at all. Just pay the delivery fee," the man’s tea-colored eyes darkened slightly on seeing the elegant, snow-white collarbone exposed outside her coat, adding, "No charge necessary."
After speaking, the man lowered his face, kissed her sweet red lips through the half-open door, fulfilling what he’d dreamt of all night.
Caught by surprise, Leah let out a soft gasp, pushing against his warm chest and playfully scolding, "Richard, you."
He was becoming more and more shameless. Leah’s sparkling eyes glared at him; he’d only teased her lightly before letting go. His gaze was deep as night, voice hoarse as he said, "Don’t stay up too late; sleep early. After eating spicy food, remember to have a mint candy and brush your teeth, or they’ll hurt tomorrow. I got you some hot milk tea and your usual bottled water; drink up if you wake at night and feel thirsty."
Richard gave instructions in a low voice, handing her the snacks she loved along with extras he’d bought. His gaze lingered on her as if awaiting a goodnight kiss.
The intense gaze made Leah’s cheeks burn. She impatiently urged, "Enough, stop nagging like an old woman. Go get some sleep, be good."
After speaking, Leah quickly shut the door, holding the snacks in both hands. Seeing Aurora’s clear, innocent eyes, she suddenly sighed. Did Aurora witness her kiss with Richard?
