Chapter 946: Chapter 973: Farewell to the Old, Welcome the New (7)
"Our thing from a few years ago has long since disappeared. Whether you come back or not, it’s fine, it has nothing to do with me."
"I..."
"George!" Caiden Ward suddenly gritted his teeth and shouted.
Outside in the yard, George Davis’ expression changed, and he hurriedly came in with a bitter face.
Caiden Ward glanced at him with a gloomy face, "Take Miss Tanny back to where she stays."
"Yes." George Davis quickly responded, and persuaded Rosalie Tanny, "I’ll take you back."
"Aunt is willing to let me in the door." Rosalie Tanny glanced at George Davis, and suddenly looked at Caiden Ward and said, "I’ve come back to see Aunt, and she really hopes we can be together, moreover, don’t you think you’ve been acting strange lately? That little girl from the Myres Family has no relation to you, yet you care for her so much, don’t you care about what others think? People who don’t know might even think she’s your and Ivy Cox’s illegitimate daughter..."
"Ah!"
"Shut up!"
Both George Davis and Caiden Ward’s expressions changed.
The room door let out a creak, as Maeve Myres looked up, sleepy-eyed, at the three of them.
The light in the room was quite dim, and she naturally felt scared upon waking up. She was wearing a vest and shorts, ran out barefoot, and even before opening the door she heard Rosalie Tanny’s voice. Her gaze landed on her face at this moment, filled with even more confusion.
Maeve Myres looked up and asked, "What’s wrong with my mom?"
Rosalie Tanny: "..."
She wasn’t naturally bad, just a bit stubborn since childhood, not quite matching her quiet and docile appearance. That remark earlier was purely thoughtless; she didn’t expect Maeve Myres to suddenly come out.
At the moment when Rosalie Tanny was feeling down, Caiden Ward leaned over and picked Maeve Myres up, holding her little foot, and reprimanded: "Why did you run out barefoot? Little bugs might crawl up from your soles, didn’t you forget?"
"Don’t scare me." Maeve Myres was confused, pouting, almost on the verge of tears again.
"It’s okay, it’s okay, uncle will rub them away, chase them away." Caiden Ward couldn’t help but laugh at her expression. He turned to look at Rosalie Tanny with coldness again, "You just came back, those things you said earlier I will take as you being immature, don’t let it happen again."
"I..."
"George, take her back."
"Yes." This time George Davis dared not slack off and quickly gestured with his eyes, "Let’s go, let’s go."
Rosalie Tanny knew he was angry, and didn’t dare stay to bother any longer, biting her lip as she left with George Davis.
Caiden Ward carried Maeve Myres back to the room.
Maeve Myres playfully pinched his face, curiously asking, "You know that sister from before?"
"Yeah." Caiden Ward nodded.
"I don’t like her," Maeve Myres said seriously, "I don’t like those kinds with long hair, you won’t hang out with them anymore, okay?"
