Chapter 86: Files.
Leonard.
We had an important meeting to attend, one that could significantly affect the future of the company, and I needed both my brothers and myself to go through the file thoroughly before facing the clients. There was no room for mistakes, especially not with a project of this level.
Every detail mattered.
The clients we were about to engage with were known for being difficult and highly demanding, and if we wanted this partnership to succeed, then preparation was necessary.
Theresa was also supposed to join us.
Not only because her tracking skills would be needed due to the nature of the project we were handling, but also because she was sharp, observant, and incredibly skilled when it came to negotiations.
Honestly, Theresa was one of the few people capable of turning impossible discussions into successful deals.
And right now, I desperately needed her to pull another major deal for the company.
Over the years, we had constantly been hitting deals at a frustrating fifty-fifty percentage. Sometimes we gained. Sometimes we barely broke even. Slowly, it had started affecting the company’s growth—not in a way obvious enough for outsiders to notice, but enough for me to see the cracks forming underneath.
There was a saying that even a tiny droplet could eventually form a mighty ocean.
And unfortunately, small losses over time could also create devastating consequences.
With all that in mind, I turned toward Theresa, about to speak to her concerning the documents...but the moment my eyes landed on her hands, my expression darkened immediately.
Her hands were swollen.
For a second, I simply stared at them in silence before realization hit me almost instantly.
Roses.
Anger flared violently inside me.
My jaw tightened so hard it began to ache as rage burned through my chest. Without wasting another second, I immediately ordered for the head of security to appear before me.
At the same time, part of me desperately wanted to accompany Theresa to the hospital myself. I wanted to be beside her, to personally ensure she was treated properly and comforted.
But another part of me knew something else was more important right now.
I needed to ensure this never happened again.
And honestly, thank goodness I stayed back.
Because if I hadn’t, I wouldn’t have discovered that Alex had actually been here.
The thought alone infuriated me further.
The moment the head of security arrived, he already looked nervous.
"I’m so sorry, sir. I didn’t know I was supposed to report this to you!" he said quickly, his voice shaking slightly.
"Sorry for yourself!" I spat harshly.
The fear on his face only deepened.
"How could all of you stand by and watch her being harassed by this pest?" I demanded angrily.
The security guard immediately lowered his head in shame, unable to meet my eyes.
But I wasn’t done.
"Now listen carefully," I said coldly, my voice dangerously calm now. "I don’t want this bastard anywhere around my company again."
I took a step closer.
"If he is seen..." I paused briefly, staring directly at him. "You know what to do."
"Yes, sir!" he answered immediately without hesitation.
I exhaled sharply, still trying to suppress my anger.
"The security level on this floor seems to be dropping," I said bitterly.
"I’m so sorry, sir!" the man pleaded instantly before suddenly dropping to his knees.
"Spare me, sir. I promise I will ensure no unauthorized person enters here again!"
I stared at him silently for a moment before finally waving my hand dismissively.
"Your last chance," I said firmly.
The man bowed his head repeatedly in gratitude before quickly leaving the office, clearly relieved to have escaped further punishment.
I took a slow, deep breath, trying to rein in the storm building inside my chest before reaching for my phone. My grip tightened around it for a brief moment as I scrolled to Marshall’s contact and finally placed the call.
He had always been our personal assistant, efficient and reliable, but that role had changed over time. Now, Theresa had taken over the visible responsibilities, while Marshall worked more in the background. We never officially laid him off—there was no need for that—but his duties had shifted into something more discreet, more strategic.
He handled the things Theresa couldn’t. The hidden tasks. The sensitive matters. The dirty work that required precision, silence, and absolute loyalty.
And beyond all that, he was still our Pack’s Beta. frёewebηovel.cѳm
The phone rang twice before he picked up.
"I need you to get me a summary of everything that has happened to Theresa in Bloodfang Pack over the past six years," I said immediately, my voice firm and controlled, though the anger beneath it was impossible to fully hide. "Every damn detail, Marshall... not a single thing left out."
There was a brief pause on the other end.
"Yes, Alpha," he replied calmly. "I already have it."
That made me pause slightly.
He continued, "Alpha Lurgard requested it not too long ago."
A cold scoff escaped me instantly.
I didn’t expect him to.
"Forward it," I said sharply, my tone hardening even more. "Alongside Michael’s report."
"Yes, Alpha," Marshall responded without hesitation.
And with that, I ended the call.
For a moment, I simply stood there, staring ahead as silence settled around me again. Then, a few minutes later, my phone chimed, signaling the arrival of the file.
Without wasting any time, I opened it immediately.
I clicked on Alex’s file first.
My eyes moved slowly across the screen as I began reading carefully, line by line, page by page. I forced myself to take in every detail, even though something deep inside me already felt like it wouldn’t be easy to digest.
But the further I read, the heavier my chest became.
The more information I absorbed, the stronger the anger inside me grew.
My jaw tightened gradually, my breathing becoming heavier as my grip on the phone turned almost painful.
"Arrrghhh!" I let out a low, frustrated growl, unable to contain it any longer.
The sheer audacity of it all was unbearable.
That bastard, Alex...he had not only betrayed Theresa, but he had also gone as far as getting another woman pregnant while still involving Theresa in his mess. The disgust of it hit me like a physical blow, twisting something deep inside my chest.
How could he do that to her?
How could anyone be so reckless, so heartless, so undeserving of someone like Theresa?
My fists clenched tightly at my sides, nails digging into my palms as rage surged through me uncontrollably. freёweɓnovel.com
"Alex..." I muttered through gritted teeth, my voice low and dangerous. "I will make you and your children pay for hurting Theresa."
The words left my mouth like a vow—cold, absolute, and unshakable—as the anger inside me only continued to burn brighter.
