Eloise’s fever broke after a few hours. Kaden and Kieran stayed with her until colour returned to her face. Though her cheeks were still slightly flushed, she looked much better than before..
Kieran stood up, feeling increasingly restless. The uneasy sensation in his gut refused to settle. He kept glancing toward the door, his fingers tapping lightly against his thigh. The feeling grew stronger with every passing minute, as though something important was slipping away.
"I think I should head back now. There are still somethings I have to handle. "Kieran suggested watching Eloise who was taking a sip of water from the glass Kaden held out for her. Kaden’s gaze drifted to Kieran he knew what was going on but couldn’t understand why Kieran was so hung up about it.
The feeling in Kieran’s gut felt like if he was late he would regret it. He understood Kaden felt something similar but not as intensely as he didn’t.
Eloise froze choking on her water on hearing Kieran’s words. Kaden immediately placed the glass on the side drawer and started patting her back out of instincts. "Be careful." He said gently before giving Kieran a glare.
"Can you not upset her on her birthday? You already made Eloise upset by leaving the pack for 2 years in the name of research and now you are troubling her when she is recovering. " kaden snapped and Kieran froze for a moment.
He left the pack 2 years ago to further his medical studies and learn under a prestigious healer at Xyrus University. Eloise was just 16 then and had just gotten admitted at Dravenhall University
she was upset Kieran was leaving and she couldn’t follow him because of her studies. It was a discussion he made casually but he couldn’t back out after being accepted by his professor then.
it was a rare opportunity. Kieran’s head ached just remembering everything. Kaden and Kieran were locked in a face off none of them noticed the calculating look that crossed Eloise eyes.
Her head was bowed pitifully looking like an abandoned puppy. Eloise’s eyes immediately watered on clock work . She couldn’t let Kieran go back earlier. Couldn’t afford the risk. If they stay here at least till noon there would be no going back.
Her voice choked and her sobs started spilling out. Both brothers froze immediately.
She went quiet, her head bowed. Her lips trembled slightly before she looked away. Tears welled up and spilled over as she sniffled. "I understand," she whispered, her voice cracking. "You can leave. Two years is a long time... your heart must have changed." She wiped clumsily at her eyes.
Kieran’s jaw clenched and Kaden’s gaze only turned ugly. He crouched before Eloise taking her hand in one then wiping the tears at the corner of her eyes with his free hand.
"Don’t say that. You are the most important person to us." He said gently and she didn’t say anything. She bit her lips
"You promised to always protect me and yet when I having a terrible day you can’t even stay with me. " her voice trembled tugging Kieran’s heart strings he started feeling guilty for thinking to leave.
He sat beside Eloise and gave her his hankie. "I am sorry but there are still things I have to handle. Kaden is here with you and tonight is your big day." Kieran explained patiently aside the gut feeling both him and Kaden can’t stay

The Alpha wasn’t around and they were left in charge of pack affairs. Eloise accepted the hankerchief. She knew she could not act too willful.
Kieran reached for her hand. "Pardon me today. I will make it up to you. You are the future Luna you should keep the pack’s best interest in mind." His words left no room for argument. Things wouldn’t look good for her if she kept on dragging this on.
She nodded like she was taking a compromise. "Fine then but you have to stay from breakfast. It’s been a while you ate here mum and dad would love your company."
Kieran hesitated, the unease clawing harder at him. Breakfast would take twenty minutes at most, he told himself. "Sure, that can work."
hearing his words Eloise smiled. "Perfect breakfast should be ready now." She said about to call over a maid when a timely knock came at the door.
a maid’s voice drifted through. "I hope I am not interrupting anything. The Beta instructed me to inform you breakfast is ready. If the lady is feeling better she should also join." The maid said respectful.
"We will be there soon.." Eloise said with a smile already getting on her feet. Kaden and Kieran got up ready to make their way out of the bedroom when their faces instantly went pale and Eloise felt the change.
"Did something happen?" She asked terrified her plan might have fallen apart.
Neither brother could answer. They were paralysed by the booming voice of their father echoing through their minds with crushing alpha force. The command slammed into them like a physical blow, sending sharp pressure through their skulls and forcing their instincts to submit.
’ I DON’T CARE HOW YOU GET BACK HERE. YOU HAVE LESS THAN 5 MINUTES.’ They brothers glanced at each other and understood they heard the same things.
’ He is back.’ Kaden hissed through the mind control. ’ what is he doing back so early?’ Kieran didn’t have an answer.
Alexander wasn’t meant to return today and more confusing why was he this mad. They didn’t do anything a warrant this anger. They felt the soaring emotion through the bond.
"Sorry we can’t stay for breakfast. Our father is back. " Kieran said already heading for the door. The feeling hw hand earlier just got worse. He couldn’t sear still.
Eloise was confused and also panicked. She grabbed Kaden’s hand. "What is going on? I thought your father wasn’t returning today." She asked..
Kaden shook his head. "I thought as much. We really have to go. Stay put." He placed a quick kiss on her forehead and hurried at Kieran.
Kieran literally ran so fast from the beta’s villa by the time Kaden stepped out of Eloise’s room he was almost at the front door. Kaden’s jaw rolled and he picked up the pace.
By the time they got outside, the morning sun was blazing it was almost 10 am and Kieran had started the car. Kaden got into the passenger’s seat.
He had barely sad down when Kieran stepped on the accelerator zooming away. "What do you think is wrong?" Kaden asked, his stomach was in knots. As much as he resent Alexander for rejecting and divorcing their mother he couldn’t stand his rage..
After all he was among the strongest alphas on the council and if it came to strength Alexander could take him and Kieran head on fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
Kieran’s hand tightened on the steering wheel. "We would find out when we get there." He said out loud.
Luckily the Beta’s residence was within the pack house grounds and on top speeds they made it there in 5 minutes. Kieran stopped the car and of course Alexander’s envoy was still in from of the Alpha’s residential building.
He clicked his tongue and got off with Kaden trailing behind. They could feel Alexander’s presence and followed his scent.
The trail took them towards the west wing and to a corridor that made their brows furrowed. This was where Yuki’s room was located. Kaden’s eyes dulled was this related to Yuki.
As expected the tracked Alexander to Yuki’s room and he wasn’t along. From the ajar door he could see the crowded room.
Aevia was seated by the side quietly sobbing while Alexander comforted her. On the bed a very pale figure was resting there with her eyes closed and lips blue like she was left in the snow.
Kieran stopped confused because it was spring how was she suffering for hypothermia and worse as soon as he saw the figure on the bed it was as if a hand reached out to squeeze his chest knocking out the air from his Lungs ..

1. YUKI DONOVAN: She is the female lead of the story. She 18 years old and an orpham. Yuki is Aevia’s sister, the current lover of the alpha of Ravencourt. Yuki had always had a secret crush on her senior Kieran Ravencourt but had no idea he was the heir to the Ravencourt throne until she came to the pack house. She is currently in her second year in her medical programme.
PERSONALITY: She is a warm, kind-hearted person who is overly emotional, cheerful, caring, intelligent, and somewhat secretive. She is very intelligent and a little too trusting of her elder sister Aevia her only family she knows.
FEATURES: A beautiful lady with long golden blonde hair and rare emerald eyes. Petty body frame with an hourglass figure. She is around 5’6’’ in height with a very stunning face that makes her look younger than her age. She has a high nose bridge and plum-pink lips.
