Chapter 173: Back to work
It was almost midday when Marco dropped Lyvana off at work.
She went straight to the conference room to prepare for her meeting with some clients.
When the meeting finally ended, Lyvana felt a wave of relief. She walked out of the room with a wide smile. All the hours she and her team had spent preparing had paid off. The meeting was a total success.
She had been worrying that things might go wrong, but the outcome was better than she had imagined.
Bertha and Sarah had done a fine job. Their research was on point, overall everything was perfect.
Just as she was about to open the studio door, someone suddenly pulled her back. She gasped in shock and fear as she collided with a solid chest. She could feel a hard arm sliding around her waist, pinning her in place.
It was Julian.
"What are you doing here?" she asked, her voice still shaky from the surprise.
Julian didn’t release his grip immediately.
"I came to surprise you," he said, his voice low against her ear. "I have to leave soon. I’ll be out of town until tomorrow evening."
Then he leaned in closer, his voice dropping. "Seeing you in that conference room made me hard."
Lyvana’s breath caught in her throat. The hallway suddenly felt much smaller.
"Let go, we are in public you know," she said.
The hands around her waist only tightened.
She opened the studio door and pulled him inside.
"Good, no cameras here," he teased. A confident smirk played on his lips as he backed her against the door.
Before she could say anything, he pulled her into the store room at the back.
"What are you doing?" she asked giggling.
His lips found their way to her ear and he gently licked her earlobe, making her to gasp.
"Damn it. You’re so sexy and stunning that I want to hide you from everyone. I want you to cry out and moan only my name. Over and over again..." he whispered in his hoarse voice.
Lyvana’s heart raced wildly at Julian’s words.
Julian didn’t wait for a response. He leaned in, his hands finding her waist again, pulling her flush against him. His lips crushed onto hers in a deep, hungry kiss.
Just then, they heard footsteps approaching from outside. Then came the voice of Lucille, her designer.
"Ms. Lyvana, are you in there?"
"Yes, Lucille. I am..." Lyvana started to reply. But the rest of the words flew from her mind when Julian suddenly unzipped the back of her dress.
The cool air of the studio hit her skin, making her shiver as the fabric loosened. She gasped, her hands instinctively flying to his shoulders to steady herself.
Lucille paused outside the door. "Are you alright Ms. Lyvana? Do you need help?"
Julian didn’t stop. His hands moved to her shoulders, pushing the sleeves of the dress down. He trailed kisses along her neck.
Lyvana bit her lip to keep from making a sound. She had to stay calm, especially with Lucille right on the other side of the door.
"I am fine, Lucille," Lyvana managed to say, her voice trembling slightly. "I just need to... tidy up a few things."
"Do you need any help?"
"No. Can you tell Bertha to get everyone ready for the staff meeting in about thirty minutes?"
"Of course."
Julian’s hand moved down her back causing her to gasp.
Lyvana shot him a warning look. The loosened dress hung dangerously low now, and he looked far too pleased with himself.
Outside the door, Lucille hesitated.
"Are you sure everything is alright?" she asked.
"Yes," Lyvana answered quickly, trying to steady her breathing. "I’ll be out in a minute." freeweɓnovel.cѳm
Julian buried a laugh against her neck.
"Of course, Ms. Lyvana," Lucille replied from outside, her footsteps fading as she walked out of the room.
As soon as the sound died away, Julian pulled her even closer. "A minute?, Baby I’d take at least one hour," he whispered against her ear.
Lyvana felt her face grow hot. "You’re impossible."
"You’re getting very good at lying, Ms. Lyvana," he teased. "But your heart is beating so fast. Is it because of her, or because of me?"
She smacked his chest lightly. "You are completely insane."
"I prefer devoted." His smirk widened. "I think we’re about to make things a lot messier in here."
Before she could think of what to say, he grabbed her hand and guided it to his belt buckle.
Lyvana sucked in a sharp breath as Julian pulled her closer, his arm firm around her waist, leaving barely an inch between their bodies. Heat curled low in her stomach beneath the intensity in his dark gaze.
"Unbuckle it for me, Liv," he murmured, his voice rough and dangerously persuasive.
Her fingers trembled slightly against the cool metal.
"Julian..." she whispered, glancing nervously toward the door.
A faint smirk touched his lips. "You’re worried someone will walk in?"
"I’m worried you don’t care if they do."
"You’re beginning to know me too well baby."
He pulled the dress further down, his eyes dark with mischief.
"Not here," she protested still looking at the door.
"The door is locked, isn’t it?" he whispered, his lips grazing the column of her throat.
Lyvana nodded.
He picked her up easily, setting her down on the edge of the small table among the fabric rolls.
Then he stepped between her legs.
"Then stop looking at the door," he commanded softly. He hooked a finger under her chin, forcing her to meet his gaze. "Look at me."
Thirty minutes later, Lyvana made her way back to the conference room.
After the meeting with her marketing team and her managerial team, both of which lasted for roughly two hours, Lyvana made her way to her office for a quick snack. She was about to disappear into her office when Bertha came rushing over.
"Ms. Lyvana, you have an unscheduled visitor waiting downstairs at the reception to see you."
