Chapter 170: Is she pregnant? Bonus Chapter

He saw Lyvana’s body jerk upright, as though someone had shocked her.

The pen slipped from her fingers and rolled across the floor.

On the silent security footage, Lyvana looked completely disoriented. Her eyes darted around the police station wildly, as if she had awakened somewhere she did not recognize.

A passing sergeant paused beside her desk and slid a thick file toward her, but she barely reacted. Her attention stayed locked on the computer screen in front of her.

Then suddenly... she collapsed toward the floor, clutching at her head as though she was in sudden, violent pain.

Julian felt a cold chill crawl down his spine.

Slowly, he reached for the remote and rewound the footage. He watched it again. And again. Every movement. Every expression. Every second.

The exact moment she started to behave differently was right after the static interference. It was as if a different soul had stepped into her body during that glitch.

He shook his head in disbelief.

"This was the day she died in the future," Julian said quietly to himself. "And somehow..."

His eyes remained fixed on the frozen image of Lyvana’s face on the screen. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm

"It was the day she came back."

Something impossible had happened inside that police station. Something no logic or science could fully explain.

Julian leaned back slowly, his mind racing, still staring at the laptop.

A sharp knock sounded on the door, making him jump. He quickly shut the laptop, his heart hammering, and walked over to open the door.

It was Eleanor.

Julian frowned. "Mother? What are you doing here?"

Eleanor walked into the room.

"Good to see you too, sweetheart."

"I’m sorry, Mother," Julian said quickly, trying to smooth over his tone. "It’s just that it’s late, and I wasn’t expecting you."

Eleanor didn’t seem to notice how tense he was, or if she did, she chose to ignore it with her usual grace. She walked further into the dim room, her eyes scanning the apartment before finally settling on him.

"I know the hour," she replied softly. "But things have... escalated. Something bad has happened at the estate. I needed to talk to you."

She moved toward the sofa to sit down. As she reached for the cushion, she involuntarily picked up a piece of paper that had been left on the side table.

"We found out that..."

Her voice trailed off. Her words died in her throat.

Julian’s heart stopped. He had forgotten about the paper.

Eleanor’s eyes widened, her fingers trembling slightly as she stared at the page. It wasn’t a business report or a legal file. It was a pregnancy scan. Her gaze locked onto the image of two small, grainy shapes nestled together.

Julian saw the shock on her face.

"Is she..." Eleanor started. "Is she pregnant?"

Julian nodded with a smile. Although this wasn’t how he had wanted her to find out.

Eleanor sat back slowly, still holding the paper. She looked at the scans and a smile crept on her face.

"And you were keeping this from me?" she asked, her gaze snapping back to Julian. "You let me find out by seeing these on a table like they are common mail?"

Julian laughed. "No, Mother. I just wanted the issue with Catalina to die down first."

"And after it died down?" she asked pointedly. "Were you still planning to say nothing?"

Julian rubbed the back of his neck.

"I honestly have no excuse. I’m sorry."

But Eleanor was no longer paying attention to him.

Her eyes had already returned to the scans.

Her thumb gently brushed over the paper, as though she could somehow touch them through it.

Then suddenly she froze.

"Wait..." She looked up sharply. "Are those two babies?"

Julian nodded again.

For a second Eleanor simply stared at him. Then her entire face lit up with joy.

"Oh my goodness," she breathed.

A laugh escaped her as she pressed the scans to her chest.

"Twins?" she whispered emotionally. "I’m going to have twin grandchildren."

Tears suddenly filled her eyes.

"You’re really going to be a father," she whispered, almost as if she still could not believe it.

Julian smiled quietly.

"Yes."

Eleanor shook her head slowly, laughing through her tears.

"And twins..." she murmured again. "Twin heirs. Your father is going to have a heart attack."

At the mention of the Chairman, the joy on her face slowly faded.

Reality returned, and she remembered why she had come there, in the first place.

"Julian," she said quietly, "Andrew is not your brother."

Julian’s expression barely changed.

Eleanor noticed immediately.

"You don’t look surprised."

Julian lowered his gaze for a moment before answering carefully.

"I am surprised, Mother," he said calmly. "I just don’t know what to say. What happened?"

Eleanor exhaled heavily and sat back against the sofa.

"Your father conducted a DNA test," she said. "It showed Andrew is not his son."

Silence filled the room.

Julian leaned back slowly, his face unreadable.

"And Zara?" he asked.

"Your father sent her out of the house," Eleanor admitted quietly. "The strange part though, is that she kept insisting the results were wrong."

Julian’s eyes narrowed slightly.

"Interesting."

"What are you thinking?" Eleanor asked, noticing the distant look in his eyes.

"Nothing mother." Julian stood up and walked over to the window, looking out at the city lights.

After a brief silence, he asked,

"How is he?"

She sighed softly.

"Your father has always been a proud man, Julian." Her expression saddened slightly. "But tonight... he looked broken."

She stood up, her movements regained their usual elegance.

"I should go," she said softly. "It’s late. I shouldn’t have come at this hour, but... I needed to see you."

Julian turned from the window as she walked toward the door.

Just before leaving, Eleanor paused with her hand resting on the handle.

Her eyes drifted once more toward the ultrasound scans lying on the table.

And instantly, warmth returned to her face.

"Your father is going to be thrilled," she said quietly. "This is exactly the kind of news he needs tonight."

Meanwhile, across town, Andrew had just arrived at Ava’s apartment.
