Chapter 159: I’m here for the girl
The moment the car stopped, Mark turned sharply toward it.
The driver’s door opened first and Julian stepped out.
Even in simple black clothes, he carried the same cold power that always seemed to follow him. It was hard not to feel intimidated in his presence.
Mark’s expression hardened instantly.
Then the passenger door opened and Lyvana stepped out slowly.
"So it’s true," Mark said. "You’re really with him."
Lyvana lifted her chin. "Why are you here, Mark?"
He laughed bitterly. "That’s all you have to say to me?"
"What else is there to say?" Isabel cut in before Lyvana could answer. "Mark was just leaving."
Mark ignored her completely. His eyes stayed locked on Lyvana.
"You disappeared overnight. Then suddenly you’re coming back home with Blackwood?"
"We are not having this conversation here," Lyvana replied calmly.
"Perhaps you should just leave," Julian said cooly.
Mark’s eyes snapped toward him.
"This doesn’t concern you Blackwood."
Julian’s expression did not change. "She concerns me."
Mark stepped closer, his hands balled into fists. "You think you can just step in and take what’s mine? We have years of history. You’re just a business deal to her."
Julian didn’t flinch. He walked slowly toward Mark until they were standing close. Julian was slightly taller.
"History is in the past," Julian said. "And Lyvana is not an object you can own. She chose to be with me. Now, I will ask you one last time to leave."
Mark let out a loud, angry laugh. "This is not your house. You can’t ask me to leave."
In one swift motion, Mark reached out and grabbed Lyvana’s arm, pulling her roughly to his side.
Lyvana gasped as she was pulled away from Julian. She tried to pull her arm back, but Mark wouldn’t let go.
"I am here for the girl," Mark snapped, his grip tight on her. "She belongs with me, not you."
Julian’s eyes turned pitch black with rage. He took one more step forward.
"Take your hands off her, now!" he said. It didn’t sound like a request. it sounded more like a threat.
"Or what?" Mark challenged, sticking his chin out.
"Or nothing," Isabel said stepping between the two of them. "This is my house. Mark, leave now. We will talk about this later. Right now, you are only making things worse. For yourself."
Mark ignored her. His eyes were still fixed on Julian, waiting for him to blink. But Julian didn’t blink. He looked like a storm that was waiting to break.
"Isabel is right," Lyvana said. "Mark, look at yourself. You are causing a scene in front of my family’s home. Please, just go."
Mark looked at Lyvana. "you said there was nothing between you two. What is this then?"
"You swore there was nothing between you and Clarisse either."
Mark’s face went stiff.
"That’s different, Lyvana," he muttered, his voice losing some of its strength. "I told you, that was a mistake. It didn’t mean anything."
"It meant enough for her to get pregnant, Mark," Lyvana said, her voice growing stronger as her anger took over. "So don’t stand here and talk to me about what is ’true’ or who I am with. You lost the right to ask me questions, the moment you broke your own word."
Mark looked like he wanted to argue, but he had no defense. He looked at Julian, who was watching him with cold, silent judgment, and then at Isabel, who was shaking her head in disgust.
"You’re choosing him to get back at me, aren’t you," Mark hissed, pointing at Julian. "You’re just using him to hurt me, right?"
Julian stepped forward again, his shadow falling over Mark. "You think too highly of yourself," Julian said flatly.
"Shut up, Blackwood."
"Let me go, Mark," Lyvana said, trying to pull her arm free.
But Mark’s grip only tightened.
"You don’t mean any of this," he said, his voice sounded desperate now. "You’re angry. That’s all. Liv, look at me."
"I said let go."
Julian moved before anyone could react.
In one fast motion, he grabbed Mark’s wrist and twisted it, ripping his hand away from Lyvana.
Mark stumbled back.
Julian immediately pulled Lyvana beside him, one arm protectively around her waist. His face was calm, but his eyes were deadly.
"You do not touch her like that again," Julian warned.
Mark rubbed his wrist, breathing hard. "She’s my fiancée!"
"You’re delusional," Isabel said. "We broke off the engagement. Remember?"
"Stop, everyone," lady Glowen said coming out of the house, with Damon close behind her. "What is going on here?"
Damon’s expression darkened the moment he saw Mark.
"You!" he said coldly, pointing at him. "Didn’t I tell you not to show your face near my daughter again?"
"I know what I did was wrong, Damon. But don’t throw away our shared past over my mistakes." freeweɓnovēl.coɱ
"Mistakes? You and your mother humiliated my daughter in front of your whole family."
"Tell me something," lady Glowen said. "What do you plan to do with your pregnant mistress."
"I... I will handle it," Mark stammered. "It’s complicated, Lady Glowen. It wasn’t supposed to happen that way."
"It never is. But it did happen. And yet, here you are, chasing my granddaughter, while another woman carries your child. It is disgusting Mark."
She hit her stick on the floor.
"I think you should go," she added. "And stay away from Liv, until you solve this problem."
Julian gave a sharp nod to Marco and Victor.
The two men moved forward instantly and grabbed Mark’s arms.
"What is this? Let go of me, you filthy animals."
Marco pulled him roughly toward his own car. Mark tried to fight back for a second, but one look at the two large, silent men made him stop. He knew he couldn’t win this.
He got into his car and drove away so fast his tires left black marks on the driveway.
Lady Glowen walked towards Julian and Lyvana.
"Now, would you two like to tell me exactly what’s going on here?"
