Chapter 145: A taste of betrayal
Understood," Julian said and ended the call.

Lyvana knew something important about Andrew Thorne.
Without her memory, he might not get that information. Right now he only had the DNA results.
But one thing was sure, this conspiracy runs too deep... and he needed to find out what the fuck was going on. Especially with Arthur Reed and his uncle involved.
He didn’t waste another second. He scrolled through his contacts and dialed a number.
The phone rang only once and someone answered.
"The King himself calling me? This must be important," a voice teased on the other end. freewebnovёl.ƈom
"Shut up and listen, Jack," Julian said warmly.
"Ouch. No ’hello’? No ’how are the kids’?" Jack laughed. "What’s the emergency, Julian?"
"Well, I know there is nothing you can’t find, especially if it’s illegal."
"What?" Jack feigned a gasp. "That’s low, man. I am a pillar of the community."
"Ha-Ha. Look, I need a neutralizer for a synthetic neuro-inhibitor. Experimental. Rare. And I need it by morning."
The playfulness in Jack’s voice vanished instantly. "A neuro-inhibitor? Wow. Ok."
"If you get it, call me. No matter the time."
"Julian, that kind of substance doesn’t come cheap. The labs that make that stuff are protected by people who charge a lot for the goods."
"I am making a transfer of five million dollars to your account right now. If you need more, let me know. Just get it done."
There was a long whistle on the other end of the line. "Must be very important."
"It is. And urgent."
"Consider it done," Jack said, his tone now completely professional.
Julian hung up and entered his sedan.
Meanwhile, back in the Grant estate, Andrew was pacing his new room like a caged animal.
He kept his voice low as he spoke into his phone.
"I don’t understand what you mean, Stephan," Andrew snapped. "Are you saying you can’t figure out where Seraphina is being kept?"
"Yes Thorne. I told you already," Stephan’s voice sounded weary on the other end. "I have been to all the safe houses we know of. Nothing. Julian has hidden her well."
Andrew stopped at the window, watching Julian’s convoy speed away from the estate.
"He’s smart," Andrew muttered. "He knows she is the only one who can connect me to the kidnapping of the girl. If Lyvana remembers what happened that night, coupled with Seraphina’s testimony, it won’t be good."
"What do you want us to do?"
"Lay low, but keep looking."
He ended the call and tossed the phone onto the bed.
"Shit," he hissed, running a hand through his hair.
He walked to the window and looked out at the dark grounds of the estate.
Maybe taking Lyvana to his home hadn’t been the smartest move. His mother had been right. It was a stupid risk, one that could cost him everything.
But he couldn’t help it. He was madly in love with her.
That was when he remembered Jasmine. He had ignored her for too long, and their wedding was only a week away. He decided to call her. He even thought about introducing her to the Chairman tomorrow.
He dialed her number. It went straight to voicemail.
"She must be busy at the hospital," he muttered to himself.
Jasmine was busy, but not with patients. She was in her office with her ex-boyfriend, Richard.
She leaned down and unzipped his trousers. Richard breathed in sharply as she took him into her mouth.
"Wait, Jasmine," Richard breathed, his hands gripping the edge of the table. "Are you sure about this?"
She didn’t wait. She leaned in deeper, her hands sliding up his thighs to grip his waist.
She was wearing her white doctor’s coat the whole time. Richard felt himself growing big and hard as she sucked him hard. The tension in his body was already reaching a breaking point.
His hands flew to her hair, his fingers tangling in her dark curls. He let out a deep, rough moan as he reached his limit.
His muscles went rigid, as a wave of pleasure rushed through him.
Jasmine didn’t move. She stayed with him, taking every bit of him into her mouth until his pulse finally began to slow.
She pulled back slowly. Only a single drop stayed on her lip.
"You’re amazing," Richard gasped. He reached out and pulled her toward him, kissing her deeply and trying to catch his breath at the same time.
"What was that for?" he said finally releasing her.
"That was for the old times," she said. "Now, let’s talk about the new ones."
She slowly pulled off his jacket and tossed it to the floor. Next came his shirt, then his pants. Then she pushed him onto the cold, hard surface of the desk.
Some papers flew to the floor, but she didn’t care. She climbed onto him, her white doctor’s coat hanging open.
She lifted her skirt and shifted her panties aside, then lowered herself onto him gently.
Richard groaned as she took all of him at once. She started to moved with a slow, steady rhythm. She kept her back straight and her eyes locked on his.
She was in total command. Every time she moved, the desk creaked under their weight. But she didn’t stop.
Richard tried to pull her closer, but she held his wrists down. She wanted him to feel everything. She wanted him to know she was in charge.
Jasmine moved faster and faster.
"Jasmine..." Richard groaned, his eyes filled with pleasure.
She leaned forward, her fingers digging into his wrists, pinning him hard against the desk.
Her eyes went wide, and she moaned as a wave of heat crashed through her. She squeezed her thighs against him as the pleasure soared through her. She held him tight, her body shaking as the feeling took over.
He gasped, his own pleasure matching hers, as he released everything inside her.
She collapsed onto his chest, her heart thumping against his.
