Chapter 136: Elena

Julian didn’t move from the doorway. He just leaned against the frame, looking way too handsome for this early in the morning.

"I think you need to get out of bed," he said.

Lyvana blinked, clutching her towel. "What do you mean? I am not in bed."

"You should get out of bed," he repeated.

He started walking toward her, his eyes fixed on hers. Then he reached out, his hand moving slowly toward her face.

Lyvana’s heart did a panicked little somersault. Was he going to kiss her? Was he going to—

Buzz. Buzz. Buzz.

Suddenly, Lyvana’s eyes snapped open. She wasn’t in a towel, and Julian wasn’t leaning in for a kiss. She was staring at her own ceiling, tangled in her sheets, with her phone vibrating on the nightstand.

"Oh, dear," she groaned, shoving her face into her pillow. She must have dozed off, after her grandmother left.

What kind of stupid dream was that? And more importantly, why on earth was her brain making up romantic things about Julian?

"Get it together, Lyvana," she muttered to the empty room.

She took a shower, and dressed up quickly into a pair of blue jeans and a cute yellow top.

Then she stepped out of her room. As soon as she reached the staircase, she stopped. There were sharp, angry voices coming from below. Worried, she rushed down the stairs.

"He was the one cheating on you, and you beg for forgiveness?" Lady Glowen was saying, her voice dripping with scorn. "Is there something you are not telling me, Isabel? Is he hitting you?"

"Why would I hit her?" Damon shouted, defending himself.

"No," Isabel said, shaking her head quickly. "I just think we can solve this in a much better way."

"Absolutely," Lady Glowen snapped. She turned her icy gaze toward the woman and child, standing in the middle of the room. "You two leave my home this very minute."

Uh oh, Lyvana thought. Yea this was exactly what happened in her past life. She remembered every detail even now.

What to do... what to do?

She pulled out her phone and called Marco, who has been lingering around the estate, since the hospital incident.

They spoke for some minutes.

Then she took a deep breath and walked towards them. There, she came face-to-face with the woman who had destroyed her family, in her past life.

It was because of this woman, this con artist, that she was left with no family to defend her, against Mark’s manipulations.

"What is going on here?" she asked, coming to stand in front of the woman.

"Nothing for you to worry about, honey," lady Glowen said placing a hand in her. "This woman was just leaving."

"Oh she will leave," Lyvana said, glaring into the woman’s eyes. "But not after she confesses the truth."

The woman lifted an eyebrow.

"The truth is exactly what I said earlier," the woman stated. "This is Damon’s son, and I think, it’s about time I introduced him to his family, officially."

Lyvana turned to the boy and smiled. "How are you Donovan?"

"Am fine," the boy said excitedly.

Everyone looked surprised, even his mother.

"How do you know his name," the woman asked.

"Oh I know more than his name. Elena."

There was silence. Damon’s face went pale. He took a step forward, his eyes searching Lyvana’s face.

"How do you know her name?" he asked. "Does it mean, you... you knew about all this?"

"Yes I did. And forgive me for saying this Damon, but you are shameless. Isabel may not be the most perfect person, but she does not deserve you sneaking around with another woman."

"Lyvana, watch your tone," Damon snapped, though he looked embarrassed. "This is complicated. You wouldn’t understand."

"Oh I do. You have always wanted a son. That is why I was never good enough for you. But news flash, daddy, I am the only child you have."

Damon shook his head. Elena, however, let out a dry, mocking laugh.

"Sorry Ms Lyvana," she said, smoothing the boy’s hair. "Donovan is a Montclair. Anyone with eyes can see the resemblance. He is the future of this family, whether you like it or not."

Damon looked down at the boy, then back at Lyvana, looking desperate. "I didn’t want you to find out like this, Lyvana. I was going to tell you all when the time was right."

"You were never going to tell us," Isabel countered, shaking her head. "You can do whatever you want Damon, but this bitch right here, is never going to be a part of our family."

Elena let out a short, sharp laugh. She looked at the arguing family with a smug smile.

"It doesn’t matter how you feel about me. The boy has Damon’s blood. You can’t throw away your own blood."

"You shut up," Lady Glowen hissed.

"Everyone relax," Lyvana said, gesturing toward the sofa. "Let’s all sit down, and I’ll tell you exactly how I know Elena. And more importantly, I’ll tell you why she’s really here."

She turned and walked toward the sofa, not waiting to see if they followed.

Lyvana sat down first. She crossed her legs and looked calm, even though her heart was racing.

Lady Glowen sat next to Isabel, holding her arm tightly. Damon was too shocked to move. Elena looked at Lyvana with narrow, suspicious eyes. free𝑤ebnovel.com

Marco slipped into the room quietly. He gave Lyvana a small nod. He was ready.

"Lyvana," Damon whispered. "What is going on?"

Lyvana didn’t look at him. She stared straight at Elena.

"Seven years ago, you were arrested for fraud in Monaco," Lyvana said coldly.

Elena’s smile disappeared.

"You went to jail for eighteen months. Then you moved to Prague and changed your name to Elena. You stole money from a man and disappeared the night before the wedding. That was when you met my father."

"What are you talking about?" Damon asked.

"You are spewing nonsense," Elena said.

"Two years ago, you were in Lisbon," Lyvana continued, unfazed. "You pretended to be pregnant just to get money from families. Should I keep going?"

The room went freezing cold. Lady Glowen gasped, and Isabel stared at Elena in horror.

"Is this true, Elena?" Damon asked, stepping toward her.

"Lies. You crazy..." Elena started to speak, but Lyvana cut her off.

"Donovan is not my father’s son." Lyvana looked at the boy and spoke softly. "Donovan, do you remember the man with the red car? The one who always buys you ice cream?"

The boy’s face lit up. "Uncle Tony!"

Elena turned white. "Be quiet, Donovan!"

"His name is Anthony Voss," Lyvana told her father. "He is a criminal, currently in a Swiss prison. He is Donovan’s real father. There is a public DNA test to prove it."

Damon stepped back as if he had been hit. "No... she told me..."

"She told you a lie because she knew you wanted a son," Lyvana said.

"You’re lying! You can’t prove any of this!" Elena hissed.

Marco stepped forward and dropped a heavy folder on the table.

"Actually, we can," Marco said. "We have the original birth certificate, the DNA results, and photos of you with the real father, until his imprisonment two months ago."

Even Lyvana was shocked. She realized she must have told him to find this evidence before she lost her memory.

Well this was good. It was way better than she expected.
