Chapter 51: The CEO Is Married?

Editor: Henyee Translations

When this was posted in the group, no one spoke anymore.

Everyone knew that President Owen’s icy look would intimidate anyone who got close to him.

However, it was really hard to imagine that the CEO would actually marry someone.

Everyone was really curious about who he was married to. Therefore, someone sent Bruce a private message again, but Bruce didn’t reply. freewebnoveℓ.com

If news of the CEO’s marriage was leaked today, Bruce was afraid that he would lose his position. If his wife was exposed, Bruce would be fired from the company.

Owen was in a good mood today, so he hadn’t noticed that today, he seemed to be the center of attention in the company. He might have been the center of attention in the past, but he didn’t seem to have been discussed by so many people as he was now.

When he was done with work and was about to distribute supper to everyone as usual, a bold group finally came forward.

"C-CEO, I heard you’re married. Can we give some benefits today?" Afraid that they would offend Owen, everyone stammered.

But Owen wasn’t angry. In fact, he was confused. "Benefits? What kind of benefits do you want?"

When they saw that their cold and aloof CEO wasn’t angry and actually asked what benefits everyone wanted, the atmosphere instantly became lively. "CEO, it’s just that since you guys got married, you have to send out wedding candies for everyone."

"You’re not unprepared, are you? Won’t the bride be angry?" The group of people became bolder and started to ask questions at once.

Owen was instantly stunned. This was his first marriage, and honestly, he really wasn’t prepared for it, especially since they were engaged in a contractual marriage. Forget wedding candy, he’d even skipped some of the necessary rituals, so Owen was confused when he heard everyone’s questions. "What’s wedding candy?"

This question stumped everyone. They didn’t expect their CEO to not even know what wedding candy was. For a moment, they couldn’t help but feel sorry for the woman who married the CEO for some reason.

"CEO, it’s just some candy box gifts," Bruce whispered from behind Owen. The importance of a secretary was revealed.

"I see," Owen whispered when he heard Bruce’s words.

"Bruce, make the arrangements. Everyone in the company will get one," Owen instructed after some thought.

"Yes," Bruce replied quickly.

The group of people didn’t expect it to be done just like that. The CEO, who used to be cold and aloof, actually agreed to their request so easily. Hence, everyone started to regret their previous actions and felt that if they had known that the CEO was so easy to talk to, they would have made other requests back then.

"All right, you people, be content," Bruce said to them after Owen left.

The episode ended quickly, and Owen drove home after giving his orders.

It was just that when he drove the car into the neighborhood, he saw his house with its lights on before he even entered the basement. Owen’s heart warmed, and he remembered how everyone in the company had hooted for wedding candy.

After Anita ended her lab experiment today, she went home without going anywhere. She hadn’t had time to unpack her things after Owen had finished organizing in the morning, so she’d rushed back to unpack.

When Owen pushed the door open and came in, he only saw that the living room light was on, but he didn’t see anyone. He was afraid that Anita was already asleep, so he didn’t call out to her. He just crept up to her door.

"Ah... when did you come back?" Anita’s door was open, but she was so busy that she didn’t hear the door open. When she turned around and saw Owen standing behind her, she was startled.

"I’m sorry to startle you. I just got back." Owen hadn’t expected Anita to react so strongly. He’d only wanted to sneak a peek at Anita, but she hadn’t slept yet.

The thing was, he’d been standing behind her for a few minutes and she hadn’t even realized it. Owen couldn’t help himself. He’d been tempted to step forward and call out to her, but then she’d suddenly turned around and was startled.

"Is everything okay?" Owen asked worriedly as he watched Anita, who was still gently patting her chest.

"It’s... it’s okay," Anita said while trying to calm down.

"Do you need my help unpacking?" Owen asked politely as he watched Anita calm down.

Anita looked at Owen, who was about to help her, and she hurried forward to hold his hand to stop him. "It’s okay," she said. "I can do it myself."

Owen hadn’t expected Anita to react so strongly. He froze.

"Ah, it’s almost done. I... I can do it myself. Have you eaten?" Anita quickly put away the pile of clothes on the bed and quickly changed the topic.

Owen watched as Anita nervously changed the subject, then glanced back at the bed as if a few white and black lace-trimmed clothes had slipped out. Only then did he realize why Anita had been so agitated.

So she was packing her undergarments.

"I’ve eaten at the office, so you can clean up. I’ll leave you alone," Owen said while quickly taking a few awkward steps back.

"Owen, I... I didn’t mean anything else." Anita looked at Owen, who was quickly backing away, and thought he was upset.
