Chapter 193: Mentor’s Call

Editor: Henyee Translations

"Mentor, why are you here?" Anita looked up and saw her mentor standing in front of her, so she said in surprise.

"If I hadn’t come, my student would have been bullied. What happened? If Jack hadn’t come over and told me, I wouldn’t have known anything," the mentor said to Anita with heartache.

If he hadn’t worked overtime at school today to sort out some information, he would have gotten off work a little late. Jack probably wouldn’t have been able to find him in the office. Fortunately, he was at school today. Otherwise, his student would have been bullied.

The mentor was sad as he looked at the crowd that was almost gone. Anita was standing alone in the middle of the road.

Hearing her mentor’s words, Anita realized that Jack had gone to her mentor because he was still worried about her.

"I’m fine. I just didn’t want you to worry. I can handle it myself." Anita forced a smile and said to her mentor.

"You’ll handle it yourself? How are you going to handle it? I just heard from someone on the way here that this man is Eric, right? Why is he here?" the mentor said to Anita.

What Eric had just said was too shameless. There were even some that involved her mentor. Now that she saw her mentor standing in front of her, she was a little glad. Fortunately, her mentor was not around just now. If her mentor was around, he would have been so angry that he would have been sent to the hospital.

"It’s nothing. He just broke up with Miranda and was a little sad, so he came to find me," Anita said after a moment of thought.

"Is that so? It’s good that you’re fine. Don’t participate in the experiment this afternoon. Go home and rest first." The mentor knew that Anita was not telling the truth, so he could only look at her helplessly.

Hearing her mentor’s words, Anita felt warmth in her heart. "Yes, thank you, mentor."

"Alright, you haven’t eaten yet, have you? Hurry up and go back. My wife is waiting for me. I have to go home too."

"I’ll get going now." With a nod, Anita said goodbye to her mentor and prepared to leave quickly.

After Anita left, the mentor took out the phone in his pocket. He remembered that he had saved Owen’s phone number before. He flipped through the contact list and finally found it. ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com

"Owen, I’m Anita’s mentor," he said first as soon as the call connected.

"Mentor? Why are you calling me? Did something happen to Anita?" Instead of being surprised to receive a call from Anita’s mentor, Owen was more worried that something had happened to Anita, so he quickly asked.

"Eric came to school to look for her today. I don’t know the details, but she doesn’t look too happy. I just asked her to go back." The mentor heard Owen’s worried tone, so he thought about it and told him.

"Okay, I understand. Thank you. I’ll call Anita immediately," Owen said quickly while listening.

"Okay." He was relieved that someone cared about Anita, and hung up with relief.

He didn’t expect Eric to dare to go to school to look for Anita. Who gave him the courage? He was too careless. He should have confirmed it when he saw that figure that day. Owen thought about it angrily as he held his phone and called Anita.

"Pick up the phone." The phone rang a few times, but no one picked up. Owen began to panic.

After calling twice more without Anita picking up, Owen couldn’t wait any longer. He picked up his clothes and prepared to go home to take a look.

"Bruce, I’m going out."

Before Bruce could react, Owen was already in the elevator.

"President, you’re going out now? There’s a press conference in the afternoon," Bruce said quickly.

"I know. I’ll try to rush back."

"But... but, CEO, you know how important this new product launch is to us. If you don’t appear, those reporters will definitely write all sorts of nonsense. The other products we released recently didn’t have good reviews, so we’re relying on this product to make a comeback," Bruce said to Owen.

Owen froze when he heard Bruce’s words. He was right, but Anita was waiting for him. He didn’t dare to think how helpless Anita would feel if he didn’t go to her.

"Bruce, Eric went to school today to look for Anita. I wonder what he said to her. She hasn’t picked up the phone yet. I have to look for her," Owen said after a moment.

"Eric went to school to look for Miss Anita? Is it because of what I did? CEO, I want to go with you," Bruce said anxiously as he listened to Owen.

"Why are you going? Don’t cause trouble. If I don’t come back today, I need you to host the press conference."
