Chapter 136: Late for the Exchange?

Editor: Henyee Translations

To be honest, she didn’t think too much about it when she said this just now. She just felt regret for Owen from the bottom of her heart because even her mentor had praised Owen in front of her and said that he was really a computer genius. However, he didn’t further his studies.

"Owen, I’m sorry. I didn’t think too much about it. You’re so outstanding that you can shine anywhere. A big company like this is being managed so well by you. I think you’re very outstanding and awesome." Anita came back to her senses and looked at Owen in the video with a smile.

"Thank you for your approval. Since I’m so outstanding, aren’t you afraid that I’ll be snatched away if you don’t come back quickly?" Owen didn’t want to continue the topic with Anita, so he smiled and said.

Anita didn’t expect Owen to say that. Her face flushed again.

"Of course I’m afraid," Anita said softly.

"Then come back quickly. I miss you very much," Owen said gently as he looked at Anita in the video.

Anita nodded.

The two of them didn’t say anything else. Owen still had some work to do, and Anita was sitting under the light and looking at information. The lights in their room were on, and the video call wasn’t hung up. The two of them just accompanied each other quietly.

When Owen finally finished his work, he looked at Anita in the video and realized that she had already disappeared from the screen. There was the faint sound of breathing.

Anita must have fallen asleep. Owen smiled lightly and counted with his fingers. Anita would be back in two days.

When she returned, he would definitely teach her a lesson. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm

Anita, who was lying in bed and quietly asleep, didn’t know what Owen was thinking. She even had a good dream. When she woke up, there was a smile on her lips.

It was already very late when the two of them video-called last night. She didn’t know when she fell asleep, but her phone rang a few times this morning without her hearing it. In the end, she only woke up when Ethan came up and knocked on the door.

"What’s wrong, Ethan?" Anita opened the door sleepily and asked Ethan.

"Anita, look at the time. The exchange is about to begin." Ethan, who was standing outside the door, quickly said when he saw Anita open the door.

"What’s going on? My alarm didn’t ring?" Anita said as she picked up the phone by the bed. She saw that there were less than 20 minutes left until the exchange.

"Don’t be anxious. Go wash your face and change your clothes quickly. I brought you breakfast. You can eat it when you go downstairs," Ethan said to the anxious Anita.

Hearing Ethan’s words, Anita came back to her senses and rushed to the bathroom to wash up. Then, she hurriedly changed her clothes and walked out with Ethan.

"Ethan, thank you. Luckily, I had you today. Otherwise, I would have been late." Anita looked at Ethan, who was standing beside her, and smiled.

"Eat slowly and drink some water," Ethan said with amusement as he watched Anita wolf down her food.

Anita took another bite of the sandwich in her hand. In the end, after taking a big sip of the water Ethan handed her, she mumbled something that Ethan couldn’t hear clearly.

"I called you a few times, but you didn’t answer. I was afraid that you had overslept, so I came to your room to knock on the door. In the end, I knocked a few times, but you didn’t respond. If you still didn’t open the door, I would have gone to find the hotel staff to open the door," Ethan said with a smile as he looked at Anita.

Anita didn’t expect that she slept so soundly and couldn’t wake up no matter what. Her face couldn’t help but turn red. She said in a low voice, "I slept too late last night. I don’t know what happened, but I didn’t hear my alarm, so I overslept."

"Yes, it’s fine. We didn’t delay the exchange anyway, but you have to be careful next time." Ethan looked at the obviously embarrassed Anita and smiled.

"Yes, don’t worry. I’ll set a few more alarms tomorrow. I’ll definitely wake up," Anita said firmly.

Ethan was amused. "Can you really wake up just because you have a few more alarm bells? I’ll wake you up in the morning."

"Ethan, you make it sound like I’m a heavy sleeper." Anita pretended to be angry when she heard Ethan’s obvious teasing.

"No, you’re not a heavy sleeper. It’s mainly because I slept too little. I wake up early, so I’m volunteering to wake you up as your alarm," Ethan said to Anita with a smile.

Hearing Ethan’s words, Anita didn’t say anything else.

Although she had slept late last night, Anita had a good night’s sleep, so she entered a learning state in high spirits while sitting in the meeting room.

Ethan, who was sitting beside her, would look at Anita from time to time. The exchange meet had already neared the end, which meant that they were about to return to the country. He might not have a chance to be with Anita all day like this in the future.
