"No, I didn’t sleep. Anita, I was waiting for you." Owen’s voice came through the phone to Anita’s side. Anita suddenly felt a little ticklish when she heard this voice and couldn’t help but reach out and touch her earlobe.

He was used to someone accompanying him to sleep every night, so when he returned tonight and saw the dark room and the empty bed, he was completely unused to it, especially now that it was night. His longing for Anita had completely reached its max.

The two of them didn’t say anything else and just quietly turned on their phones. They could feel each other’s presence through the sound on the phone.
Anita took a nap in the afternoon. She wasn’t jet-lagged anymore, so she didn’t feel sleepy at all.
But Owen hadn’t slept well yesterday and he had a busy day today.
He was thinking about his relationship with Anita, but after the two of them had a call that night, he found out how much Anita missed him. His worries were eased, and he fell asleep.
Owen didn’t say anything for a long time and she only heard his breathing, so she called out softly, "Owen, are you asleep?" But no one replied to him. She smiled and thought that he was indeed asleep.
Afraid that the sound of her unpacking would wake Owen, she hung up.
Anita was in a good mood. She even hummed a tune and slowly packed her luggage from the box. Then, she took out the box of information that she had brought over and started to study it carefully.
The discussion tomorrow morning would be held in the hotel’s first floor lobby. This was the first time she had participated in such a heavyweight discussion.
Logically speaking, she was not qualified to participate. She only came because of her mentor’s recommendation, so she had to prepare well. She could not disappoint her mentor tomorrow.
After everything was packed, she started to wait for tomorrow.
The moment the alarm rang in the morning, Anita hurriedly got up and washed up. After that, she took the prepared information and went to the first floor hall, where the meeting was.
The tables in the meeting room were all arranged. There were the names of the participants. After Anita went in, she found her name and sat down.
"Anita, why are you here?" A man said in surprise and patted Anita’s arm.
Anita was nervously preparing her information when she was suddenly patted and she hurriedly turned around.
"Ethan, why are you here?" Anita said in surprise.
"What’s wrong? I’m also here to attend the meeting. Are you the only one who can attend the meeting and I can’t?" Ethan looked at Anita and smiled.
Anita smiled sheepishly when she heard Ethan’s words. "You know that’s not what I meant."
"Yes, our company is the sponsor of your exchange program, and I’m the company’s representative. That’s why I’m sitting here," Ethan explained with a smile while looking at Anita.
Hearing Ethan’s words, Anita nodded happily.
"Sit down first. The meeting is about to begin. Let’s talk after it’s over," Ethan said with a smile while looking at Anita, who clearly had something else to say.
Anita didn’t say anything else after hearing Ethan’s words. She nodded and sat back in her seat.
To be honest, she hadn’t expected to see Ethan here. Ever since she told Ethan about her marriage, the two of them had parted on bad terms.
Ethan did not come to her wedding after that. After she returned to the country, she had sent him messages, but he had not replied.
Anita was dejected. She felt that Ethan had cut ties with her and would not contact her again.
