Chapter 1375: Chapter 1370: Please Do Not Speak Loudly

Even though she didn’t know exactly what Qin Hao meant, Zhang Lianyi still nodded and said, "Yes, sir!"

When it came to Qin Hao, she trusted him unconditionally; she’d follow him even into a sea of blades and fire.

"Heh heh! Still just a spineless pushover!"

Liu Qi was secretly snickering in his heart, when he suddenly saw Qin Hao pull Zhang Lianyi along and stride toward the door, leaving them all behind.

"Huh?"

Liu Qi’s face was full of confusion. "What’s he trying to do?"

Xie Jingyi sneered. "That so‑called pride of his kicked in. Wants to go eat on his own, I guess!"

"Him? As if he’s got the money to pay?" Meimei said with total disdain, "I came here for a friend’s birthday once, three people and it was over ten grand!"

"Don’t look down on him that much. Even if he’s hauling bricks, maybe he’s saved a few thousand, enough to pick up a bill at least."

Xie Jingyi said in a mocking, sing-song tone.

"Alright, talking’s useless. Let’s go in and see what he’s up to!"

Liu Qi said as he led the others and quickly followed.

...

Sitting in a private window seat, Qin Hao picked up the menu and glanced through it. "Ripples, order whatever you want."

"But, sir..."

Zhang Lianyi looked a bit worried. "Is this really okay?"

It wasn’t that she was worried Qin Hao didn’t have money. A guy as badass as sir, how could he possibly be short on cash?

What she was worried about was that Liu Qi and the others would come over and stir up trouble again.

"It’s fine."

Qin Hao smiled and comforted her. "I’m only letting it slide because they’re your classmates. If they keep provoking me, I don’t mind disciplining them a bit."

"Thank you, sir." Zhang Lianyi expressed her gratitude from the bottom of her heart.

"Alright, let’s order."

Qin Hao picked up the menu and said to the waiter, "Steamed fish, stir‑fried romaine..."

After he ordered a few relatively light dishes in a row, before Zhang Lianyi could say anything, Liu Qi’s mocking voice rang out from not far away: "All veggies? Younger Brother Qin, why are you eating so frugally?"

Beside him, Xie Jingyi let out a cold laugh. "Isn’t it just because he’s broke? The meat and seafood here are pricey as hell. This loser’s monthly salary probably can’t even cover one meal."

"So what if he’s broke? Brother Qi’s got money, doesn’t he?" Meimei jumped in at just the right time to flatter Liu Qi.

"Heh heh, no problem. Younger Brother Qin, if there’s something you want to eat, just tell your big bro. I don’t have that much money, but treating you to a meal that costs ten grand or so is nothing."

Liu Qi said with a big grin, and even went and sat down right next to Zhang Lianyi.

The atmosphere turned a bit silent as Liu Qi realized Qin Hao and Zhang Lianyi weren’t saying anything.

"What, you shy or something?" Liu Qi laughed heartily. "Don’t be polite when you’re eating with me..."

Halfway through his sentence he trailed off, because he noticed Qin Hao’s eyes had turned a bit cold, sending a chill down his spine.

"Hey! You mute or what! Brother Qi is talking to you! Fine, you’re a loser, but what about basic manners?"

Xie Jingyi put her hands on her hips and shouted arrogantly.

Zhang Lianyi’s brows furrowed deeply.

These people were so annoying. They clearly didn’t want to talk to them, so why did they have to come over and provoke them?

She was about to speak when she heard Qin Hao say calmly, "I don’t remember inviting you over, did I?"

"What do you mean by that?"

Xie Jingyi’s face darkened, full of simmering anger.

Qin Hao said flatly, "You don’t understand? This is our table."

Hearing that, Liu Qi’s expression changed slightly. "Kid, don’t be shameless when I’m giving you face!"

Because of the loud commotion over here, a lot of diners at other tables were looking over.

If they got kicked out in front of so many people, wouldn’t that be humiliating as hell?

So Liu Qi’s face turned very ugly as he tried to threaten him.

Qin Hao ignored him and simply snapped his fingers lightly. "Waiter, I don’t know these people. Please take care of it..."

"Fine! You’ve got guts!"

Liu Qi stood up in fury, pointing at Qin Hao and spitting out harsh words.

He was practically about to lose his mind. He’d come here looking for a chance to humiliate Qin Hao, and before he could pull it off, he’d been chased off instead.

Wasn’t this a complete reverse kill?

"Despicable bastard!"

Xie Jingyi could feel all the mocking looks from the people around, and her face flushed with anger.

Meimei also complained, "You really don’t know what’s good for you. Brother Qi was being so generous to you, and you repay kindness with ingratitude!"

At this point, she turned to Zhang Lianyi and said, "Zhang Lianyi, finding someone like him is really your misfortune!"

Cursing and grumbling, the four of them found a nearby table and sat down.

Zhang Lianyi completely ignored them, her eyes gentle as she looked at Qin Hao. "Sir, thank you."

"Why do you say that?"

Qin Hao handed the menu to the waiter, smiling.

"You only spared them because of me."

Zhang Lianyi said seriously. She knew that if Qin Hao wanted to, just a blink of an eye and Liu Qi and the others would be in deep trouble.

But he didn’t.

What Zhang Lianyi didn’t know was that Qin Hao really had no interest in bullying people like Liu Qi.

Would a lion be interested in stooping to the level of ants?

Of course not!

"Alright, let’s just enjoy our meal. Come to think of it, we haven’t actually had a date yet."

Qin Hao showed a warm smile, and that smile made Zhang Lianyi’s heart waver; she couldn’t help staring blankly at his face.

At the next table.

Zhang Lianyi’s deep, affectionate gaze at Qin Hao made Liu Qi incredibly jealous. He glanced at Xie Jingyi beside him, and in comparison, his appetite was gone.

"Give me two jin of steak, four steamed abalone, one Australian king crab..."

As soon as the waiter came over, Liu Qi started ordering like he was reciting from memory, and it was basically all expensive dishes.

He deliberately spoke loudly, occasionally shouting in Qin Hao’s direction, blatantly showing off.

After he put the order down, Xie Jingyi and Meimei couldn’t help swallowing their saliva.

"Brother Qi, you ordered so much, we can’t finish it all..."

Meimei said.

"It’s fine, whatever we can’t finish, we’ll just throw away. Your bro’s not short on this kind of money!"

Liu Qi deliberately raised his voice, like he was talking for Zhang Lianyi to hear, and also mocking Qin Hao. "When you eat out, the point is to have fun. You can’t be like some broke ass, penny‑pinching on everything. If you’re gonna eat like that, might as well not eat at all!"

"Heh heh! True enough. But Brother Qi, this meal’s probably going to run you tens of thousands, right?"

Meimei said, a little shocked. She’d glanced at the menu earlier and been stunned by those signature dishes.

"No problem. It’s pocket change."

Liu Qi looked over at Qin Hao with open arrogance. "But for a loser like you, that’s probably a few months’ salary you still couldn’t earn."

Qin Hao was starting to get annoyed.

A lion could be magnanimous, but having a fly buzzing around your ears nonstop was still annoying, wasn’t it?

And Liu Qi still had no self-awareness, laughing in anger. "Haha! Look at that, even a loser dares to pull a face at me! Did I hit a sore spot?"

Just as he finished speaking, a staff member walked over and said to Liu Qi, "Sir, please don’t be so loud. You’re disturbing other guests. Thank you for your cooperation."
