Chapter 1017: Chapter 1017: Pan Biya Tagged Along

The moment she heard that, Pan Biya’s eyes lit up with excitement. Going outside the academy sounded much more interesting than staying on campus all day.

"My dear, can I tag along with you?" Pan Biya asked eagerly, holding onto her arm.

"Can you even leave the school grounds without permission?" Bai Xifeng asked in return, looking doubtful.

"You do not need to worry about that at all." Pan Biya smiled sweetly, giving her a reassuring wink.

Bai Xifeng raised an eyebrow. Since she was already pressed for time and did not want to waste another minute, she decided not to question it any further.

"If you say so, then let’s go." Bai Xifeng agreed.

The two girls walked together toward the main academy entrance. The guards stationed at the gate immediately recognised Bai Xifeng from a distance.

As Bai Xifeng approached them, she was just about to reach into her belongings to take out Zhou Yaoting’s permission letter.

"Student Bai, right? You may go out." One of the guards said immediately, stepping aside with a respectful nod.

Bai Xifeng froze for a moment in complete surprise before politely bowing her head. "Thank you." ƒrēewebnovel.com

"My junior sister is quite famous now. Even the guards recognise you immediately without needing to see paperwork." Pan Biya chuckled as they passed through the gates.

"I honestly do not know why the guards know me so well." Bai Xifeng replied truthfully, scratching her cheek.

She genuinely felt puzzled about the whole matter.

Pan Biya simply laughed at her reaction. Her junior sister was sometimes surprisingly oblivious to her own soaring reputation within the academy.

"So, when will the carriage arrive?" Pan Biya asked while looking around expectantly at the empty road.

"Huh? What carriage are you talking about?" Bai Xifeng asked back, turning to look at her.

Pan Biya stared at her in utter disbelief. "Did you not just say that we are going all the way to the Armament Master Guild in the city? Xifeng, don’t tell me you were actually planning to walk there on foot?"

"Eh! Of course not!" Bai Xifeng immediately denied it, waving her hands in the air. Then she grinned mischievously and raised her hand high. "I am going to summon my contracted beast."

A familiar, brilliant summoning array instantly appeared beneath her feet, glowing brightly against the ground.

"Cerberus, come out!"

A massive, intimidating three-headed wolf suddenly materialised in a burst of spiritual light directly in front of Bai Xifeng.

Pan Biya was completely stunned for a moment, her eyes widening noticeably as she instinctively took a half-step back. This was her very first time seeing Bai Xifeng’s contracted beast in the flesh. She had certainly expected something powerful based on the rumours, but she had never anticipated a creature quite this enormous.

The beast’s towering body alone was several times larger than that of any ordinary wolf, and the overwhelming, primal aura it naturally emitted made it abundantly clear that it was far from a regular spirit beast. Not to mention, it possessed three entirely separate heads, each moving independently and scanning its surroundings as though they were three distinct creatures sharing the exact same massive body.

Pan Biya watched in utter amazement as each individual head reacted with its own unique personality the moment Bai Xifeng spoke.

"Suburo, your saliva is dripping all over the place. Control yourself." Bai Xifeng chided gently.

The left head immediately lifted its heavy chin, snapping its jaws shut and quickly swallowing the drool that had been hanging from its mouth.

"Jiro, stop licking Suburo. You are making a mess." Bai Xifeng continued, turning her attention to the next one.

The middle head paused, blinking its large eyes and looking completely innocent despite having just been caught red-handed in the act.

When Bai Xifeng took out the glass bottle, their eyes were focused on it so intensely. Bai Xifeng took three pills and threw them right into each mouth.

"I will give you guys another one when we return to the school." Bai Xifeng said.

"Ichiro, can you please talk some sense into your brothers?" Bai Xifeng sighed, addressing the final head.

The right head let out a low, rumbling growl of exasperation before nudging the other two heads with its snout, displaying obvious annoyance at their lack of discipline.

Pan Biya blinked several times in rapid succession, her mind struggling to process the sight. Each head really did seem to possess its own distinct consciousness and personality.

When Bai Xifeng reached into her robes and pulled out a sleek glass bottle from her spatial storage ring, all three pairs of predatory eyes immediately locked onto it with terrifying, undivided focus. Their collective gazes became so intensely fixated on the bottle that Pan Biya could practically feel the secondhand pressure weighing down on the surrounding air.

Amused by their eagerness, Bai Xifeng casually poured three round pills into her palm before tossing one directly into each wide, waiting mouth.

Crunch.

The spirit pills disappeared down their throats instantly.

"I will give you another round when we finally return to the school premises." Bai Xifeng promised, patting the beast’s thick neck.

She pulled Pan Biya, climbing up onto Cerberus’s back.

The three heads immediately responded in unison, letting out satisfied, low-frequency growls that vibrated through the ground. Only then did Bai Xifeng turn her attention back toward her companion.

"Senior Sister Pan, let’s go." Bai Xifeng finally turned to Pan Biya.

Pan Biya snapped out of her dazed thoughts and nodded quickly. Before she could even figure out how to climb up, Bai Xifeng reached out, grabbed her arm firmly, and easily pulled her up onto Cerberus’s broad, muscular back.
