Their mission was simple: to sweep the area, eliminate any lingering threats, and ensure the safety of the settlement.
As they cautiously moved forward, their eyes scanning their surroundings for any movement, a distant groan echoed through the stillness, alerting them.
Selena’s exasperated sigh filled the air as she shook her head, her frustration evident.
"Why is it that wherever you lead us, there are always zombies lurking nearby?" she questioned, her tone tinged with annoyance.
Shinon couldn’t help but hide a mischievous smile, his eyes gleaming with secrets.

Shinon’s sharp gaze darted towards the source of the noise. A small group of zombies, their decaying forms shuffling aimlessly, had congregated around a shabby building ahead. It seemed like they had made it their makeshift dwelling, a nest of the undead.

Shinon also wanted to jump in, but since he knew he wouldn’t earn any exp points from defeating the undead, he decided to let the others have some fun.
As the battle ensued, the air filled with the clashing of weapons and the guttural moans of the zombies. The team fought with coordinated efficiency, dispatching the undead with each well-placed blow.
Though initially hesitant, the guards soon joined the fray, bolstered by the unity and strength of their companions.

As she reached the entrance, Selena found the door barricaded from the inside. Without hesitation, she summoned her strength and delivered a powerful kick, shattering the aged wood and gaining entry.
The three young women huddled together, their eyes wide with fear and relief as Selena rushed to their side.
"It’s alright, you’re safe now," Selena assured them, her voice filled with a soothing calmness. "We’re here to help."
Meanwhile, the battle with the zombies raged on outside. Rico’s mighty machete cleaved through undead flesh, while Kira’s agile movements allowed her to evade their grasping hands.
In Selena’s absence, Shinon provided support from a distance, using his shadow abilities to manipulate shadows and hinder the zombies’ movements, giving the rest a clean shot at defeating the undead.
Selena quickly assessed the situation, realising that the zombies were still fixated on the building and the scent of the living inside. She knew they had to divert the attention away from the trapped women. With a swift motion, she signalled to the team.

"Focus on eliminating the zombies!" Shinon’s voice rang out, commanding attention as he swiftly moved towards Selena.

"Understood!" Rico’s voice carried determination as he deftly cleaved through the undead horde, his blade cutting a path of destruction.
Gathering his focus, he delved into the depths of his powers. Shadows coalesced around him, swirling and twisting in a mesmerising dance. His features became shrouded in darkness as his connection to the shadow realm grew stronger.
With a surge of energy, Shinon unleashed his shadow creatures, wisps of darkness taking form and substance. The shadow creatures, resembling sleek panthers with glowing ember eyes, prowled around him, ready to do his bidding.
But Shinon knew he needed to do more. With a whispered incantation, he summoned a shadow clone, an exact replica of himself crafted from the essence of darkness. The clone stood beside him, mirroring his movements with eerie precision.
"Well, that’s creepy as hell..." Shinon mumbled as the clone kept running beside him, keeping up to his pace.
"How can he do such things?" Selena’s gaze widened as she observed Shinon’s shadow companions.
She had seen glimpses of his unique abilities before, but they left her amazed each time.
At the same time, the panthers leapt over the zombies, biting and slashing them before running away. Shinon’s clone did the same but ran away without attacking the zombies, giving Shinon enough time to reach out to Selena.
"Stay close to me," Shinon instructed, his voice commanding yet reassuring. "My shadows will divert the attention of the remaining zombies. We’ll lead them away from here, giving you time to escape."
