Chapter 105: The Walking Funnies (1)
Shinon watched in disbelief as the sword consumed the Screamer, reducing it to ashes. A mixture of fascination and confusion swirled within him, but he had little time to dwell on it. The charging Exploder demanded his immediate attention.
With a roar that sent the surrounding zombies flying all around, the grotesque creature lunged forward, fueled by its insatiable hunger for destruction.
Shinon couldn’t help but roll his eyes at the makeshift patchwork repairs the Exploder had hastily assembled using the dismembered limbs of other zombies Shinon had cut through. It was a repulsive and comical sight, but it worked, as the Exploder wasn’t leaking gas anymore.
"You really know how to make a fashion statement, right?" Shinon quipped, a hint of sarcasm lacing his voice. "Who needs a tailor when you can just slap on a few body parts?"
The Exploder snarled as if agreeing with Shinon, which was enough to weird him out. Undeterred, he focused his attention on the task at hand. His grip on the sword tightened as he prepared to face the Exploder.
"Alright, Frankenstein’s monster, let’s dance!" Shinon taunted, a mischievous grin playing on his lips. ƒгeewёbnovel.com
Shinon’s nimble form danced around its clumsy attacks as the Exploder charged. With a swift movement, he ducked under its swinging arm, taunting it further before stabbing the creature.
"Is that the best you’ve got? I’ve seen slower snails!"
The Exploder growled in frustration, its grotesque face contorting with rage. But Shinon remained unfazed, his agile movements allowing him to easily avoid the creature’s blows.
"Come on, big guy! Show me what you’re made of... besides dismembered limbs!" Shinon continued to provoke, his words laced with a playful arrogance.
With a burst of energy, Shinon leapt forward, delivering a series of lightning-fast strikes to the Exploder’s weakened and exposed areas. Each blow was precise and calculated, exploiting the creature’s vulnerabilities.
The Exploder, now visibly weakened, staggered back, its fury waning. Shinon took advantage of the opportunity, delivering a decisive final blow that sent the creature crashing into the nearby trees.
"As they say, it’s not the size of the explosion; It’s how you handle it," Shinon mumbled.
Shinon began puncturing strategic holes in the Exploder’s bloated body with precise and deliberate movements of the shadowy tentacles. As each puncture released a noxious gas, a pungent stench filled the air, signalling the impending doom for the surrounding undead.
Once satisfied with his work, Shinon wasted no time. He tapped into his Shadowmancy powers, merging with his shadow and disappearing from sight. From the depths of the darkness, he summoned a flaming machete, its blade ablaze with fire.
Shinon hurled the flaming weapon out of his shadowy refuge with a deft flick of his wrist, sending it hurtling toward the Exploder’s gas-filled body. The flaming machete sliced through the air, leaving a trail of fiery brilliance in its wake.
The moment the flaming blade made contact with the gas, the air erupted in a massive explosion. Fire engulfed the area, consuming the gaseous mixture and transforming it into a swirling inferno. The blast wave rippled through the horde of zombies, obliterating everything in its path.
Zombies were torn apart by the force of the explosion, their bodies disintegrating into charred fragments. The shockwave knocked down those unfortunate enough to still stand, further disorienting the undead ranks.
As the flames and smoke billowed into the sky, Shinon emerged from his shadowy concealment, his eyes gleaming with satisfaction. He surveyed the scene before him, witnessing the aftermath of his explosive spectacle.
The area surrounding the fallen Exploder was littered with the remnants of the undead, their twisted and mutilated forms a testament to the destructive power unleashed.
A smirk played on Shinon’s lips as he basked in the chaos he had wrought. The sight of the decimated horde filled him with a sense of accomplishment and relief.
The settlers who had witnessed the fiery display were in awe, their fear momentarily forgotten in the face of such a powerful and audacious act.
"Barbeque, anyone?" Shinon smiled as he heard a bunch of walkers and runners heading his way. "Let’s see the progress, shall we?"

"Now for the final task," Shinon declared, stretching his hands as if preparing for a grand performance.
With a swift motion, he set aside his sword within his shadow and grasped the Mastersmith’s hammer, its weight familiar in his grip.
Shinon’s eyes locked onto the approaching walkers, his gaze steady and focused. They were mere shells of their former selves, frail and decaying. To him, they posed no significant threat.
As the first walker lunged at him, Shinon swung the hammer with practised ease. The impact was swift and powerful, crushing the creature’s skull with a resounding crack. The walker crumpled to the ground, lifeless once more.
The walkers closed in one by one, driven by their insatiable hunger. But Shinon met them head-on.
He shattered limbs and skulls with every strike, sending decaying fragments flying in all directions. The sound of bone breaking and flesh tearing filled the air intermingled with the groans of the dying walkers.
The battle raged on, but the outcome was never in doubt. Shinon’s hammer rose and fell, each strike delivering a swift and decisive blow. The walkers, no match for his skill and strength, fell like dominos before him.
As the last walker crumbled to the ground, Shinon stood amidst the scattered remnants of the horde. Sweat trickled down his brow, mingling with the dust and grime.
Lowering his hammer, Shinon’s lips curled into a satisfied smile. It was a brief respite, a momentary victory in the ongoing battle against the undead.
However, the fight was far from over as the remaining zombies headed towards the settlement.
