Chapter 202: Chapter 201 - Uncomfortable

Point-of-View: Neo Cronje

———————————————————————————

"Hey, what are you waiting for, an invitation? Portal it away while it’s still restrained," Remarked the Witch, Cereberus having broken through all but two of the chains restraining him.

"Uh, right, I’m on it," I responded, as I began opening a large portal beneath his feet.

Cereberus then quickly leapt up in alarm before I could fully expand it big enough for him to fall through, before twisting his body across in midair, the remaining chains snapping, before he burst out powerful jets of flames from his hind legs to shoot himself forward, straight towards us.

The Witch then quickly raised her hand, forming a Magic Circle, before a barrier formed around us. Cereberus’s front claws slammed onto the barrier, several cracks spreading out from the point of impact.

I then swiftly opened a portal and drew out a sword, before opening a small portal with a connected portal inside the middle head’s right eye, and then driving the sword straight into the portal.

The Deity hurriedly sprang off the barrier in alarm, narrowly avoiding getting its eye pierced from inside...tch, looks like that was an instinctive reaction, guess it won’t be that easy.

"Wait, you can open portals inside a target’s body? That’s so overpowered, why haven’t you been using that more often!?" Exclaimed the Witch incredulously.

Uh...can’t deny that she’s got a point.

"I’ve rarely ever had to use it like that before, so it doesn’t really occur to me most of the time," I replied sheepishly.

"Seriously? Fine, whatever...I’ll try and get it off balance, use that opportunity to deal some internal damage," She frowned, as Magic Circles appeared around her feet and she floated up into the air.

A Magic Circle then formed around her right hand as Cereberus narrowed all six of his eyes at her, before she swung her arm down towards him, sending out a rapidly extending whip towards him.

He sprang back to evade it, but the whip changed course and followed after him, wrapping around his left front leg firmly. As he began to try and claw it off, she formed another Magic Circle and burst out a stream of lightning along the length of the whip.

Cereberus growled in pain as she zapped him, his fur standing up on end as he tore the whip off his leg and stumbled back, right as I opened a portal inside his body and plunged my sword straight down into a connected portal.

He quickly leapt up to evade it, but the lightning had dulled his movements slightly, just enough that I managed to deal some damage before he evaded, a small cut appearing on his underbelly, along with a few inches of internal damage as well.

"Oh, wow, that was genuinely painful," Sighed the left head despondently, as blood dripped down onto the street from the wound I inflicted.

"Kill them both...they cannot be allowed to live!" Snarled the right head, as their body began to split into three.

Huh? They can do that!? freewebnøvel.com

"How humiliating...to resort to this against a mere human and a Witch," Growled the middle head, as the three heads seperated into individual bodies.

Each one is about twenty meters tall, but most alarmingly, each of their Auras is just as dense as their Aura when they were combined into one. This could be really bad, it’s like taking on three Deities at once!

"Uh-oh...yeah, no, fuck this, I’m out," Remarked the Witch, flying away at a rapid speed.

...seriously? Then again, maybe she’s got the right idea. As the three of them surrounded me in the blink of an eye and blasted out flames at me from different directions, I quickly dropped down through a portal, narrowly avoiding getting burnt to a crisp, emerging back at my place.

I collapsed onto my knees with a gasp, my body trembling...that was way too close. When they split, they were each faster than they were while combined.

But their flames were less intense, though the speed of their attacks were definitely faster, I was barely able to react in time. As expected of an Elemental Deity, I didn’t stand a chance.

Still though...I actually managed to hold my own, and even inflicted some damage. I might be able to take on a lesser Deity like Bastet...well, not sure if I can keep up with his speed and agility, but against a somewhat slower moving Deity like Cereberus while combined, I might not be completely helpless against them.

I suppose I owe this to that Witch, huh? Oh, yeah, I didn’t get her name...not that there was time to introduce ourselves in that situation. Still, though, she seemed to be quite powerful. Well, whatever, I doubt I’ll ever see her again...

"Uh, I’m not too comfortable talking about this, you you," I responded awkwardly, feeling really uncomfortable.

"It’s not big deal. We’re tired of using condoms, so if, you know, I end up knocking her up, it’ll be a problem. If that happens, couldn’t you use your powers to perform an abortion?" Replied Dieter with a straight face, Petra alongside him, as they stared at me expectantly.

Are they just messing with me or are they being for real right now? I honestly can’t tell. But I have a feeling that they aren’t just kidding around...

"Well, I mean, I probably could do it, but I’m not so sure that I want to," I frowned apprehensively.

"Why not?" Inquired Petra in response, before adding, "Alright, then, instead of that, can you use your powers to make it so that I can’t get pregnant?"

This is really uncomfortable...

"Uh, I should be able to, but...," I trailed off in bemusement.

"But what?" Dieter prompted me.

Come on, think of something, a good reason that’ll deter them from this.

"Like, there could be detrimental side effects as a result of this. Even if I fix it afterwards, there’s a chance that there’ll be lasting effects. And if the damage is something I don’t understand, I won’t be able to fix it," I surmised in response.

That’s half-true...I can’t fix what I don’t understand. However, by using Synchronicity to feel what the person I’m trying to heal is feeling, I can usually fill in the gaps and figure it out pretty easily. But I’ll keep that to myself.

"Hm...okay, yeah, that would be bad," Frowned Dieter, after a brief pause.

"Yeah, I don’t want any permanent damage...alright then, abortion it is. We’ll come to you if the need arises," Nodded Petra decisively.

"Why don’t you just, you know...pull out at the, uh, moment of impact," I suggested awkwardly.

Did I mention that this is really uncomfortable?

"We plan to, but sometimes, when caught up in the moment, all logic goes out the window," Grinned Dieter sheepishly. freёwebnovel.com

"Fine...I’ll think about it. Now, then, I’m supposed to help Kiyana with her Light Skill, so leave already," I sighed wearily.

"Alright, see you later," Waved Dieter, as they finally left my RV.

"We’re counting on you," Added Petra, as they shut the door.

Sounds like they’ve already decided that I’ll be doing this for them if and when necessary. Kill me, kill me now.

I then glanced up as I heard a knock on my door, letting out a tired sigh as I stood up and walked over, before opening the door.

"Hey, it’s-...woah, you okay? You look really worn out," Remarked Kiyana with a look of concern.

"I’m fine. Come in, let’s continue with your Light Skill training," I replied, as I let inside.

I’ve been letting her use Synchronicity on me to get a feel for how to improve her healing powers, and she’s shown some improvement so far, but not to the level where she can regrow severed body parts just yet.

We’ve been using geckos as test subjects for her to work on, after tranquilizing them and giving them painkillers.

"You sure you’re okay? You seem stressed," Said Kiyana, as I sat down with a sigh.

"Don’t worry, I’m alright. Just need a smoke is all," I responded, as I reached for my pack of cigs and took one out, lighting it up, before glancing at her, "Want one? I can get rid of the negative effects afterwards."

"Sure. You’re really convenient to have around, any drugs or anything that results in negative side effects are totally harmless with your powers," She grinned teasingly.

"Hey, don’t call me convenient, that makes me sound like a handy tool or something," I sighed wryly, as I lightly chopped her head with my hand.

I feel a bit better now...her presence always helps me relax. Heh, convenient, indeed...
