Chapter 144: Chapter 143 - Eden’s Outliers(Part 2)

Point-of-View: Petra Engel

———————————————————————————

Please let my opponent be Miraliz...we can go easy on each other and make sure not to injure each other, so that’s the best possible outcome for both of us. freewebnσvel.cѳm

Astra will definitely do her best to inflict as much pain and damage as possible, and as for Osian...he’ll be doing his best to, well, you know.

Miraliz had drawn a paper scrap with an X on it, and Osian had drawn one with an O on it. It’s my turn to pick, and I desperately need to get the remaining X...that’ll ensure that Astra fights Osian and I fight Miraliz.

Ideally, I’d rather fight no one, but thanks to these damned Conditions, we can’t defy Eden’s commands. I took in a deep breath and slowly exhaled as I reached into the box and drew out one of the remaining two scraps of paper.

I slowly unfolded it as my chest began pounding, before my heart sank in dismay as I saw the letter written on the scrap...it was an O. I’m going to have to fight Osian.

"Oh, guess that means I’ll be fighting you," Astra said to Miraliz with a smirk, "Water versus fire, huh, should be interesting."

"Uh, yeah, sure...," She responded warily.

"Mmm, I’m looking forward to this," Osian leered at me with a hungry look in his eyes, before turning to Arisu, "Hey, let me fight first, the two that drew Xs can fight second."

"Yeah, okay, doesn’t matter to me," She shrugged in response, before saying to Miraliz and Astra, "Alright, then, you two stand by the sidelines and wait for your turn."

"Aw, man, I wanted to go first," Grumbled Astra with a sigh.

"Now, then, you lose if you surrender, get knocked out or if you fall outside the bounds of the arena," Arisu informed us.

Oh? Hm...in that case, maybe I should jump out of bounds right from the start. Yeah, that’s-...

"Woah, hold on a second. What if someone deliberately jumps out of bounds?" Frowned Osian, as if he read my thoughts.

"Hm? Let’s see...that would be pretty anticlimactic and boring. Alright, how about this...unless you’re in dire straits, you can’t surrender or leap out of bounds," Decided Arisu, after mulling it over.

Seriously? That’s kinda vague. This could be really bad. I’ve only mastered four techniques besides Thought Communication, which is useless in a fight.

Compression, which narrows distance between me and my target for an instant, Expansion, which does the opposite, Gravitate, which can pull a target towards me so long as I’m pointing my palm towards them, and Repel, which pushes a target away from the line of my palm.

I can also use the Portal technique, but only within my line of sight...I’d started learning it as a alternative option for escaping in case Thought Communication doesn’t pan out, but it’s way too complex and difficult to fully master.

If I try to improve on the Portal technique too much, I’ll need to put an insane level of focus on it, which could compromise my mastery over my other techniques.

So this is probably my limit with this technique, I can open portals anywhere that’s within my sight, but not beyond that. The only thing I can realistically improve on is the speed at which I form and open portals.

Unfortunately, at the moment, I’m a bit slow to open a portal, so I don’t think it’s really viable in a fight just yet. So I’ll mostly have to rely on the other four techniques I’ve mastered.

"Okay, then, let’s get started, shall we? I’ll yell out ’begin’ or something once you’re both in the ring and ready to start," Remarked Arisu, as she gestured to us to step onto the arena.

Well, guess I don’t really have a choice...if I’m doing this, then I might as well do my best to beat this creepy bastard.

"Why don’t you save us some time and take your clothes off? You wouldn’t want them to get torn, now, would you?" Smirked Osian with a lick of his lips, sending a horrified shudder down my spine.

"You sick, sick freak," I muttered in response, doing my best to ignore the visible bulge in his pants.

"Okay, begin!" Called out Arisu, before Osian immediately responded by sending a wave of earth spikes bursting out towards me.

I held up my palms and fired out the Repel technique from both hands, breaking apart two of the spikes that had closed in on me, before leaping onto the side of one of the other spikes and quickly springing up straight in the air, getting him within my sight.

I then locked my gaze onto him and drew back my fist, before driving it in his direction as I activated Compression, shrinking the gap between up for as instant as I drove my fist forward, striking him square on the middle of his face and sending him stumbling back with a groan, as blood gushed out of his nostrils. Okay, that felt pretty good.

"You little bitch!" He snapped, looking slightly dazed as he glared at me.

As I landed, I managed to land my feet across the sides of two of the spikes he’d burst out, before leaping onto a clear spot and racing towards him.

He’s not the most mobile, and certainly not the most agile, person in the world, I’ll have a big advantage if I get in close, I’m quick on my feet thanks to my training as an acrobat...as much as I don’t want to get too close to him, he has the edge if I keep my distance.

As he saw me coming, he looked like he was starting to burst out more earth spikes, but then did nothing, a smirk appearing on his face as I closed in on him.

Ugh, of course he’s not going to stop me from getting closer...disgusting piece of shit, I’ll beat him to a bloody pulp!

As I closed in on him, I suddenly and abruptly halted as my feet sunk into the ground, which then hardened and wrapped around my legs upto my knees, holding me in place, before a couple of masses of earth rose up and enveloped my hands and arms...crap, this is bad.

"I gotcha," He grinned with a sleazy look in his eyes, as he approached me.

Damn it...I can’t move, I’m trapped!

"Let me go, you sick freak!" I snapped, as I struggled to break free...my fists had been closed, so I can’t use Repel to break my arms free.

"Mm, not until I’m done with you...first, payback for breaking my nose. Oh, but don’t worry, I won’t mess up that pretty little face just yet," He smirked, as he drove his fist towards my midsection.

I quickly activated Expansion, expanding the space between his fist and my torso for an instant, right before he could connect, a look of bewilderment appearing on his face as his fist swung across thin air, lightly bumping onto my stomach as the space returned to normal.

"What the...? How did I miss?" He mumbled in disbelief, before shrugging and walking behind me, my blood running cold as I felt his breath against the back of my neck.

"Hey, I surrender, end the fight!" I yelled out to Arisu, who just shrugged and shook her head in response...how the hell doesn’t this count as dire straits!?

I shuddered in disgust and horror as his hands groped around my chest, and I felt something firmly poking against my butt, as he began breathing heavily with slight chuckles...damn it, I think Arisu and the rest of the audience will only consider a predicament as dire if my life is in danger.

In fact, they’re all watching with amusement right now. Am I completely helpless to stop th-...no, I won’t let this happen! I’d rather die than let this disgusting monster have his way with me.

As his hands began to slip underneath my top, his tongue running across the top of my ear, I leaned my head forward and then swung it back with all the force I could muster, the back of my head slamming onto his nose and mouth with a loud thud, eliciting a muffled cry of pain as I heard him stumble back.

"You little bitch, you hit my nose again...! Damn it, I came because of that! No one ruins my fun like that!" He snarled furiously, as he stomped over in front on me, his eyes bulging with rage and a visible stain around his pants.

E-ew...ew, ew, ew, ew, eww!

"Get away from me," I growled defiantly, continuing to struggle in vain as I tried to break free.

"Shut up!" He snapped in response, before slamming his fist onto my face, as I failed to activate Expansion in time.

His strike dazed me, as I felt my lower lip bust open, blood trickling down my chin as I let out a slight groan.

He swung his fist across at me again, striking the left side of my face painfully, knocking my head across as I tasted blood in my mouth. Enough...I won’t let him do as he pleases any further, not someone like him!

As he drew back his fist again, winding up to drive forth an especially powerful hit aimed square at the middle of my face, I braced myself and focused, ignoring the pain around my face.

Like I said before, I’m still pretty slow to use this technique in a fight...but now that I’m stuck standing still and know exactly how he’s going to attack, I can do this.

Right as he drove his fist towards my face, I managed to open a portal just in time, with a connected portal behind his head, his fist zipping into the portal and slamming onto the back of his own head, as he let out a startled cry of pain and stumbled forward, his arm going further into the portal.

"How do you like this, you vile piece of shit!?" I snapped, as I abruptly shut the portal...and cut off his arm at around the elbow.

He stumbled back in shock as blood gushed out of his stump, before letting out an excruciating scream of pain, collapsing onto his knees while clutching the bloody stump in agony, trembling in pain as his blood poured onto the ground.

"I-I’ll...I’ll kill you...you damned bitch, I’ll kill you!" He yelled furiously, as he shakily got back onto his feet, his eyes bulging with rage.

Now’s my chance!

"I-I give up-...!" I began, before trailing off as a dark blast suddenly came shooting towards us and struck the ground between us, right before Arisu zipped forward with a gust of wind and stepped between Osian and me, pointing a Negative Blast at him. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓

"Okay, that’s enough," She remarked, as he backed away with a glare.

"Huh!? Hell, no, I’m not done here-...!" He started to snap.

"If you hurry, we should be able to reattach your arm with Healing, since it’s a pretty clean cut," She informed him, before firing out blasts of wind to break away my restrains.

"Ow...," I muttered to myself, as I rubbed my wrists tentatively.

"Alright, that was fun, but fight’s over," Said Arisu, before shifting her gaze to the sidelines, as Osian picked up his severed arm and walked away with a dark look in his eyes, "And now, it’s time for the second fight. Let’s get it started!"
