Chapter 120: Chapter 119 - Demonic Summoning
Point-of-View: Wrest Seizel
———————————————————————————
"Uh...are we really doing this?" I inquired warily.
"It’s not like you to be so apprehensive about this kind of stuff. What, are you scared, Wrest?" Replied Anarchy tauntingly.
"I think you’ve got the wrong idea about me...sure, I enjoy chaos and mayhem and whatnot, but I don’t like risking my life recklessly," I huffed in response.
It’s the 5th of July today, and Anarchy had gathered a few of us at some random graveyard. I’m not even sure which country we’re in right now. Besides me and Anarchy, the others here were Glenn, Dracula and Afro.
"Yo, don’t be like that, this is hella cool and shit, bro! I can’t believe imma get to see a real Demon!" Grinned Afro enthusiastically, while Glenn was hiding somewhere in the background.
So, yeah, we were summoning a Demon. Or, more specifically, I was summoning a Demon.
There’s two ways to summon a Demon...one method is to draw a pentagram, add some of your own blood to it, and then recite a chant in Latin. That’s the method most people would use, and even normal humans can pull it off.
But method comes with a lot of risks. The Demon will be free to turn against you if they desire, and feed on your Aura to sustain themselves in the living world. And if they consume too much of your Aura and then start digging into your life force, you’ll age rapidly, and if it continues, you’ll soon die.
And as for the other method, it’s one that’s only possible for Space Skill users, a technique that’s simply known as Summoning. It can also be used to summon Mirror Dimension Monsters or a creature from Heaven, but is most commonly used to summon the denizens of Hell.
That said, as far as anyone knows, that technique hasn’t been used in several decades. Eden sealed away the technique and removed it from their books of Space Skill techniques, but about ten years ago, shortly after I mastered Teleportation, I managed to sneak into the place where they’d locked up forbidden techniques and found it.
So, naturally, I used it. It was incredibly difficult to master, and once I did, I used it without a second thought. Like the first method I mentioned, what you summon will be random, the only difference is that you can control which dimension you want to summon from...Heaven, Hell or the Mirror Dimension.
Trying to summon something from Heaven is pointless though, they’ll just ignore it. But with Hell, especially with Demon summonings being so rare these days, it’s very likely that a Demon will respond, possibly even a high level one.
The lower level denizens of Hell are grouped and classified as Devils, while the higher level ones are what’s known as Demons, with the seven strongest of them being referred to as the Demons of Sin.
Demons also include Fallen Angels, one of which is a Demon of Sin. Incidentally, Satan is also a Fallen Angel, said to be the very first one. Fallen Angels look different to regular Demons, but are just as powerful as the strongest of them, if not even more powerful.
With the Space Skill technique Summoning, there’s two ways to use it...the random summon, and the ability to summon a being who you’ve summoned before, provided you form a blood contract with them.
You can then summon or send them back as you please, and control the amount of Aura you provide the Demon with. What’s more, the Demon can’t kill you once that’s done...if the caster is killed by the Demon, then the Demon will die too.
The Demon I summoned ten years ago was the Fallen Angel among the seven Demons of Sin, and I made a blood contract with him. Apparently, he only agreed to the contract due to boredom.
After I summoned him, he wasn’t very pleased that I only did so to test out my new technique, and threatened that if I ever summoned him again for a reason which he deems as insignificant, he’ll kill me, before breaking my arm and ordering me to send him back to Hell. While he can’t actually kill me, he can definitely injure me without breaching the contract.
So, yeah, that was a kinda traumatic experience.
"We are wasting time, hurry it up," Remarked Dracula impatiently.
"Yeah, what he said!" Added Afro with a nod.
"Come on, do it!" Urged Anarchy in agreement.
Goddammit, fine...
"Alright, I’ll do it...don’t blame me if he goes off on us," I sighed as I reluctantly gave in, closing my eyes and focusing, "Now, then, Space Skill: Summoning Contract[Lucifer]!"
A ripple appeared in the air ahead of me, before violently cracking open into a rift, a reddish black mist floating out as it widened further. A figure then appeared in the open rift, before slowly stepping out, as a pair of gleaming purple eyes locked onto me and narrowed.
"Oh, it is you again. For what purpose have you summoned me, Meta-Human?" He inquired in a cold, threatening tone, sending chills down my spine.
The strongest Fallen Angel after Satan himself, and a Demon of Sin, specifically the Sin of Pride...Lucifer.
He was tall and slender, with long, straight black hair that went down past his shoulders at the back, and covered his right eye at the front. He had purple eyes, with a straight, sharp horn above the right side of his forehead, black feathered wings and a black halo.
He wore a dark, blood red hooded cloak that went halfway down his calves, over a white shirt and black trousers. He looks just as terrifying and intimidating as I remember.
"Uh, well, about that, actually-," I began nervously.
"Prostrate yourself when you speak to me," He interrupted icily, before I felt my body respond on its own, forcing me down onto one knee as I lost control over my body.
I can resist this if I really try, but doing so would definitely piss him off, so I’ll go along with it...
"A-as I was saying, the reason why I summoned you today is upon request...their request, to be specific," I replied, pointing at Anarchy, who stepped forward.
"It’s an honor to meet you, Demon of the Sin of Pride...I am Anarchy, and I have a request to make of you," They responded with a respectful bow.
"Hm...very well, then, state your business. However, I shall warn you, if this is something I find to be insignificant, all of you here will die," He warned them with a grimace.
"Understood. We belong to a Meta-Human faction known as Chaos, and our goal is to create a world where Meta-Humans no longer have to live in hiding, and in the process, create chaos and mayhem across the world. At least, that’s our objective on the surface...the end goal has basically already been achieved, but I’m not satisfied.
I want to create the greatest conflict this world has ever seen, and eventually...I want to get Heaven and Hell involved. Here’s my request...I want you to rain death and destruction across the world for a few days, and then go back and relay my intentions to those in Hell. That’s about it," Explained Anarchy. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
Crap, the way they worded that, it basically implied that they want to use Lucifer for this purpose.
"Hm...quite intriguing. If nothing else, your ideas has piqued my interest. However...what do I stand to gain from this?" He responded with narrowed eyes.
"I see that you have not changed in the slightest, Fallen Angel," Suddenly chimed in Dracula, as he stepped forward.
"Who would dare address me so casually-...hm? You look familiar," He frowned, as he stared intently at Dracula’s face, before his eyes widened, "Ah, if it isn’t the King of Vampires. Well, now, this is certainly an unexpected surprise."
"It has been a while, my friend."
"Indeed it has, you look well."
Huh? They’re friends? Oh, right, I guess Dracula did assist Hell against Heaven in a major battle a few centuries ago. And I suppose it’s not surprising that someone as powerful as Dracula has earned the respect of Lucifer...
"Wow, you two know each other, Drac? Cool! So, which of you is stronger?" Inquired Afro in fascination.
"Who is this insolent human? And what an unusually large Aura for a Meta-Human," Frowned Lucifer disdainfully, before stating icily, "Lower you gaze before me, maggot."
"Oh, wow, my head is moving on its own, this is wild!" He laughed in response, not seeming to be scared in the least.
This guy’s seriously got some screws loose...
"What is wrong with him?" Muttered Lucifer in bewilderment.
"Yes, he is a rather unusual specimen," Chuckled Dracula in amusement.
"Hey, I’m right here, you know!" freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
"Quite. Now, then, getting back to the matter at hand," Remarked Lucifer, turning his gaze back to Anarchy, "I shall ask again, what do I stand to gain from this?"
"Well, this might be a bit presumptuous of me, but I believe that the denizens of Hell have been rather bored lately, am I wrong?" They responded objectively.
"Hmph...no, I suppose that is an accurate statement."
"In that case...you stand to gain entertainment. And if I’m not mistaken, you have the ability to drain and consume a person’s Aura and life force just by touching them, right? Well, in that case, you’ll be able to keep yourself well and truly nourished to your heart’s content as you rain down death and destruction. Just to give the people a taste of what you’re capable of...a glimpse of what’s to come if and when I get what I want, and Satan opens a bridge between Hell and the living world. Just thinking about it gets me all pumped up and excited!" Exclaimed Anarchy eagerly.
"Oh? You have some rather fascinating ideas, I have not encountered many humans with a mindset such as yours...very well, then," Smirked Lucifer with a glint in his eyes, as he added, "I shall cooperate with your endeavor.
