Chapter 115: Chapter 114 - The Impaler

Point-of-View: Vlad Tepes

———————————————————————————

So, this is the island, is it? It seems like I have emerged at the spot behind where the video they showed me was being recorded from, by the back of the platform on which they were yelling out their deluded victory over me.

I approached the platform, on which a man was currently emphatically declaring their victory over me, ignorant to the fact that he and everyone else on this island are about to die...

"Praise the Lord up above, he has responded to our collective wills and struck down the monster who’s been destroying so many of his churches! Let’s rejoice, as he suffers in hell and-!"

I have heard enough...I think I shall show them why I was once known as Vlad the Impaler. I interrupted his speech as I used my Terra Skill to burst forth dozens of spikes, rising up rapidly from the ground and impaling several of them, as screams of shock and pain echoed out all around me.

I then leapt onto the platform, through which I had burst out a spike that had pierced through the head of the man who had been speaking, his body suspended in the air by the spike, blood dripping down onto the stage. I then cleared my throat and spoke in a loud, clear voice...

"I am Dracula, and I have come here to grant your collective death wish! Remember this when you die...coming to this island was the biggest mistake of your lives..."

I raised a wall of earth as gunfire was directed at me, blocking the bullets before firing out several powerful lightning streaks from my hand, sending them zipping around my wall and striking the gunmen, killing them instantly. freewebnσvel.cѳm

"Y-you damned monster!" Exclaimed a man in fear, as he shakily pointed a large weapon at me.

Ah, I believe that is called a rocket launcher. Fascinating...I welcome the challenge.

As he fired the weapon at me, the force knocking him onto his back, a large projectile rapidly shooting towards me, I inhaled deeply and fired out a devastating sonic blast from the mouth towards the projectile, which exploded before it was even halfway towards me.

I then nicked my palm with one of my claws, drawing out some of my blood and taking control of it, forming it in several sharp, whip-like streaks. I can control my own blood, as well as the blood of my kinsmen...however, if I mix my blood with the blood of others, I can control their blood too.

I sent my blood streaks whipping out and tore apart the people skewered on my spikes, and as their blood poured out, I mixed small amounts of my own blood into them, taking control of an immense amount of blood.

As more bullets and other projectiles came shooting towards me, I used the blood to block and deflect them away, before forming the blood into hundreds of sharp, narrow needles high up in the air, and then swung them all down, raining down on all the people within my sight.

Screams of pain and despair began ringing out as the sound of flesh tearing and bones breaking burst out, a red mist rising up as hundreds of people collapsed down in a matter of seconds, most of them dead, and the ones still alive bleeding profusely...it will only be a matter of time before they die of blood loss.

Now, then...how many more are there left to kill?

"Now, die, you freak!" Suddenly came a voice from a few meters behind me, before a rocket launcher was fired at me.

I swiftly raised my hand and formed a mass of blood to block it, the projectile exploding as it crashed onto my blood shield, and destroying my right arm.

"Oh? That is more destructive that I had anticipated...how careless of me," I remarked in fascination, before rapidly growing my arm back.

"Wh-what the hell!?" Blurted out the man in shock, before I sliced off the top of his head with a blade-shaped streak of blood.

The Regeneration ability of us Vampires allows us to recover from even the most severe of injuries, not even destroying our heads will kill us. The only way to kill a Vampire is to destroy and eradicate all of our vital organs and over ninety percent of our bodies.

In other words, so long as at least ten percent of our bodies remain intact, we can recover with no problem whatsoever.

That blast was quite powerful though...it would seem that modern weaponry may very well be capable of killing a Vampire. But so long as I do not let my guard down again, these weapons are not a real threat to me.

Now, then, I suppose I might as well explore this island, there are certain to be more people still alive who are hiding. I will not leave this place until I am absolutely sure that every single human on this island is dead...

Wow...he just mowed down the majority of the people on the island in less than five minutes. And he’s currently roaming the rest of the island, looking for any survivors and cutting them down as he came across them.

"Sure glad we managed to get him on our side," I said to myself with a wry smile.

"He’s so powerful...and that regenerative capability is just unfair," Muttered Glenn wide-eyed.

"I know, right? But, well, Vampires are among the strongest beings in the living world for a reason. Their Auras and power aside, their healing abilities basically make them invincible," I surmised, as a helicopter began rising from the large mansion on the island...before being promptly shot down with a blood blast to the whirring blades.

The helicopter plummeted down and smashed onto the building in a fiery explosion, the roof caving in with a deafening crash.

"Looks like it’s catching on fire," Remarked Glenn, as smoke began rising out of the mansion, billowing out and growing thicker and darker. freewēbnoveℓ.com

"Hey, what’s he doing?" I wondered curiously, as I noticed him strike a bunch of trees with lightning blasts, before realizing, "Oh...is he planning to burn down the entire island before leaving? Hard-core..."

He continued blasting stuff with lightning for a while, before seeming to be satisfied as the flames began to rapidly spread throughout the island. He then glanced around, before suddenly looking up and spotting us, meeting my gaze.

He then flew up towards us, Glenn widening the portal as he closed in. Gotta say, Dracula looks pretty content and fulfilled, I’m guessing that was a pretty cathartic experience.

Despite the fact that he’s been laying low peacefully for hundreds of years, history indicates that he’s got quite the taste for violence. The brutal efficiency in which he wiped out every single person on this island is a testament to that fact.

"You look like you enjoyed yourself out there, Drac," I greeted him, as he entered the portal.

"It must be your imagination," He responded with an shrug, but I didn’t miss the slight smirk on his lips.

Yeah, he definitely enjoyed that, no doubt about it.

"Feeling tired?" I asked him, as Glenn shut the portal.

"Hm? No, not at all. I did not even break a sweat," He replied with a shake of his head.

"In that case, what do you say we got to the other part of our deal? We took you to the island, so..."

"Yes, very well, I will not go back on my word. I believe you wanted me to fight the Harmony Outliers without killing them, correct? I find it an intriguing idea, a rather amusing handicap," He remarked with a gleam in his eyes.

Ooh, looks like getting a taste of showing off his powers after what’s probably been an incredibly long time has made him hunger for a bit more action. Nice...

"Mhm, feel free to kill anyone else there if you want, just keep the Outliers alive. After all, I have long-term plans for them, so it’d be a waste to kill them now. And this experience, fighting against the likes of you, is bound to make them stronger. Oh, you should know, there’s one Outlier who might even give you some trouble...the others are still very green, so they shouldn’t be a problem," I informed him.

"Tell me, these Outliers, are they really any different from ordinary Meta-Humans, besides their larger Auras?" Inquired Dracula curiously.

"Yeah, actually...the higher level of Aura has given them slightly more significant boosts to their physical capabilities. When a Meta-Human first awakens their Aura, their bodies automatically start to get stronger without them having to do anything, a process which lasts about a couple of days. Considering each of their builds and ages, the boosts they gained were a bit more immense than what natural Meta-Humans get," I explained in response.

"Ah, I see, so the higher a Meta-Humans’ Aura capacity, the greater the boost to their initial physical capabilities. Hm, perhaps that applies to us Vampires and the other Demi-Human races as well," Mused Dracula with a look of interest, before asking me, "Okay, so they are a bit physically stronger than natural Meta-Humans. Then, what of the one you mentioned, whom you said could give me some trouble?"

"Well, that one’s kind of a special case. She’s a rare instance of a normal human forcibly awakening their Aura after enduring painful and extreme circumstances, and then came across a Meta-Orb on top of that."

"I suppose that means that she has an especially high Aura capacity?" He responded with a look of intrigue.

"Oh, absolutely. She’s incredibly strong and fast even without using any powers, and has gained a really impressive level of mastery over her Dark Skill in what’s been a pretty short amount of time. And if that wasn’t enough, her senses and instincts are terrifyingly sharp and complex. Huh...actually, now that I think about, she’s probably capable of putting up a serious challenge against you. The only thing going against her is the fact that she’s never encountered someone who’s even close to as strong as she is, let alone stronger," I surmised after mulling it over.

"Is that so? I must admit, my interest is peaked...send me there right away...," He replied with a gleam in his eyes...
