Chapter 60: Chapter 60 Burning Want
Jade’s POV
I didn’t expect the kiss to feel like that.
If I’m being honest, I didn’t expect it at all.
One second we were standing too close, the air between us thick with words we weren’t saying, and the next, Ronan’s mouth was on mine, firm and hesitant all at once, like he’d crossed a line he’d sworn to himself he wouldn’t.
I froze at first, the shock of it stealing the breath right out of my lungs. My heart slammed so hard against my chest it almost hurt.
But then something in me softened.
Melted. ƒreewebɳovel.com
I leaned into it before I could stop myself.
The kiss wasn’t rushed or clumsy. It was slow, deliberate, like he was learning me in real time. His lips moved against mine with a hunger he was clearly trying, and failing, to restrain. I could feel it in the way his breath hitched, in the way his body pressed closer, as if distance itself had become unbearable.
My hands curled into the fabric of his shirt without conscious thought.
The world narrowed to sensation. To warmth. To the subtle way his hand settled at my waist, steadying me, grounding me as if I’d tilted off my axis.
The kiss deepened, not in a reckless way, but in a slow, consuming one. It felt intimate, intentional, as if he was pouring everything he’d been holding back into that single moment. His breath was uneven against my lips, his restraint unraveling piece by piece.
My skin tingled everywhere he wasn’t touching.
His hand on my waist moved, unhurried, deliberate, tracing upward along my back, sending a shiver through me that I couldn’t suppress.
I gasped softly into the kiss.
That was all it took.
He drew closer, our bodies aligning in a way that stole my breath entirely, especially when I could feel his hard crotch pressing against my lower abdomen, and my body reacted before my mind could intervene.
A tremor went through me, my body responded before my mind could catch up and I knew he felt it because his breath stuttered against my mouth.
The kiss grew heavier, deeper, the kind that leaves you breathless not because you can’t breathe, but because you don’t want to.
I didn’t want it to stop.
I wanted to sink into it, to let it consume me completely, but somewhere deep down, I knew if we didn’t stop now, we wouldn’t be able to at all.
When we finally pulled apart, it felt like waking up from a dream.
We were both breathing hard, foreheads nearly touching, the air between us charged and electric. My lips tingled. My chest rose and fell too fast. Ronan looked... undone
He looked like he wanted more but he was restraining himself from going for it.
“I....” he started, then stopped. His voice wavered, and I’d never heard that from him before. “Sorry. I didn’t mean to...”
He swallowed, running a hand through his hair like he didn’t know what to do with himself.
I’d never seen Ronan shaken like this before.
Before he could finish whatever apology, or confession, he was trying to form, the bathroom door opened.
Renzo and Ryder stepped out together.
The sudden shift in the room was almost physical.
Steam followed them, the scent of soap and warmth filling the air. Their hair was still damp, strands clinging to their foreheads, and they wore nothing but towels wrapped low around their waists. Water traced slow paths down their skin, catching the light, emphasizing every strong line and sculpted curve.
I forgot how to breathe.
They stopped the moment they saw us.
All four of us stood frozen, the room thick with unspoken tension. Renzo’s gaze flicked from Ronan to me, dark and curious. Ryder’s eyes lingered on my face, intense and searching, like he was trying to read something I hadn’t said aloud.
Ronan took a step back, like the moment had finally caught up with him.
“I’ll... I’ll just go,” he muttered, words tumbling over themselves. He didn’t look at any of us as he turned and walked back into the bathroom, closing the door behind him a little too quickly.
The silence he left behind was suffocating.
My eyes drifted back to Renzo and Ryder before I could stop myself
They were still staring at me.
Openly.
The weight of their attention pressed down on me, made my skin feel too tight, my pulse race uncontrollably. I felt dizzy, like I might actually faint from just standing there, caught between their gazes.
“I.... I’ll go get dressed,” I stammered, my voice barely steady enough to form words.
I turned and hurried into the dressing room, closing the door behind me and leaning against it as soon as I was alone. My hands flew to my chest, pressing there as I tried to calm my racing heart.
What was happening to me?
I dragged in a deep breath, then another, but it didn’t help much. Everything inside me felt alive, buzzing, painfully aware.
Was it a blessing or a curse, to have three extremely hot mates like them?
I’d come on this trip with a plan. A clear one. Seduce them. Control the narrative. Make them want me, really want me.
But we’d only arrived yesterday.
And already, the desire in that room felt unbearable.
At this rate, I was the one who would break first.
I exhaled slowly and turned to my suitcase, my resolve hardening.
I can’t keep up with this anymore, I need to take things up a notch so they’ll fold and finally have sex with me tonight.
My fingers brushed over carefully chosen fabrics until they landed on emerald green.
The swimsuit Mr. Valerio had insisted I bring.
He’d called it a monokini, elegant, daring, designed to draw the eye without screaming for attention. The cutouts framed my waist beautifully, and the neckline dipped just enough of my boobs and be provocative.
I slipped it on and turned toward the mirror.
For a moment, I just stared.
The woman looking back at me didn’t feel like the same Jade I’d been before this trip. She looked confident. Poised. Seductive in a way that felt unfamiliar, but powerful.
I swallowed.
This was perfect.
Then doubt crept in.
It might be too much for the start of the day.
After a moment’s hesitation, I grabbed a sheer, netted jacket and slipped it on over the swimsuit. It softened the look, turned it into a suggestion rather than a statement.
I adjusted my hair, added just enough makeup to enhance my features, slipped into my heels, and squared my shoulders.
Confidence, I reminded myself.
When I stepped back into the room, everything stopped.
Renzo and Ryder were dressed now, casual but sharp. Ronan stood near the window, buttoning his shirt.
All three of them froze when they saw me.
Their gazes locked onto me at the same time, and for a heartbeat, no one moved. No one spoke.
Heat rushed to my cheeks.
I wished, just a little, that one of them would say something, at least commend how I looked
Remembering Mr. Valerio’s words, I need to be confident and lead them on subtly.
I took a deep breath and smiled.
“How do I look?” I asked.
“You... you look....” Ryder began.
The intercom chimed, cutting him off.
“Good morning,” a staff member’s voice announced. “Breakfast is ready. Please proceed to the dining hall.”
I masked my disappointment with a light laugh. “I guess we should go.”
A small part of me sank. Maybe they still didn’t find me attractive after all.
The dining hall was breathtaking, open, airy, overlooking endless blue ocean that shimmered under the sun. Breakfast was exquisite, laid out like art.
I barely tasted any of it.
Soon, a staff member approached with a warm smile.
“Good morning,” she said. “Allow me to brief you on today’s activities.”
She clasped her hands politely.
“First, you’ll have a couples’ photoshoot session to capture the beginning of your time here. After that, a guided scuba diving experience. Later, a private couples’ cooking class with our executive chef.”
She paused, smiling knowingly.
“And to conclude the day, you’ll have an interactive session with our resident sex therapist, who specializes on intimate and bonded partnerships.”
My heart skipped.
