Chapter 47: Chapter 47 A Sabotage
Jade’s POV
The moment Linda crashed into them, the air in my lungs shifted.
She didn’t just stumble, it was as if she aimed for them.
Her body folded perfectly into Renzo first, her hands clutching at his suit jacket like he was the only solid thing in the world. Ryder was next, her shoulder pressing into his chest, and then Ronan, her fingers curling into his sleeve as she trembled dramatically.
She was crying.
Soft, broken little sobs that scraped at the edges of my skull.
For half a second, I just stood there, frozen, watching my wedding night unravel in front of me.
“Linda?” Ronan’s voice was instantly gentle, laced with concern that made my chest ache. “What’s going on?”
“Yeah,” Ryder added, his brows knitting together. “What happened?”
She sniffed, lifting her head slowly, just enough for them to see her tear streaked face. Her lashes were wet, her lips trembling, so perfectly fragile I almost forgot how evil she was.
“I.... I tried to sleep,” she whispered. “I really did. But after everything today, the wedding, loosing you guys to someone else, not that I blame anyone for it, this is how the goddess wants it to be and I accept it even though its really hard, but after how exhausting and overwhelming it all was, I tried to sleep and I just.... I just had a really bad dream.”
Her shoulders shook, and Renzo’s hand automatically came up, steadying her.
“I’m scared,” she continued softly. “You know how it gets when I have those dreams. I wake up disoriented, and then my chest tightens and I can’t breathe properly. Sometimes I panic so badly I pass out.”
She swallowed hard, eyes shimmering.
“I can’t sleep alone tonight.”
The words settled into the room and it tasted like poison in my mouth.
I felt my wolf bristle violently inside me.
Liar, she snarled. Snake.
Sleep with them tonight?
The realization hit me so hard my hands clenched into fists.
“No.”
The word ripped out of me before I could soften it.
All four of them turned to look at me.
My heart pounded as anger and disbelief surged through my veins. “Sleep with them tonight?” I repeated sharply. “Tonight is my wedding night. You have no right, absolutely no right, to even suggest that.”
For a split second, something flickered in Linda’s eyes, a hint of evil.
Then it vanished.
Her face crumpled into sorrow so fast it was almost impressive.
“Oh,” she murmured, stepping back slightly as if wounded. “I’m sorry, Jade. I really am. I didn’t mean to upset you or make this seem... inappropriate.” freёwebnovel.com
She wiped her cheeks delicately, sniffing again.
“It’s just....” she hesitated, glancing at the boys before looking back at me. “For the past year, whenever I have a bad dream, Renzo, Ryder, and Ronan have always stayed with me. You know that. When I’m left alone after nightmares, I sometimes get panic attacks. Dangerous ones.”
Her voice dropped to a whisper.
“I thought you wouldn’t mind. You told me earlier how nervous you were about tonight.... how you hate the boys and how you didn’t really want to be anywhere near them cause you were afraid they’ll lose control and forcefully have sex with you.”
My breath hitched violently.
“What?” I snapped. “I never said that.”
Linda tilted her head, confusion feigning innocence. “You didn’t?”
“No!” My voice rose despite myself. “I never said anything like that to you.”
But it was already too late.
Renzo’s gaze slid to me, sharp and distant, something cold settling behind his eyes.
“There’s no need to deny it, Jade,” he said flatly. “We know you didn’t want this marriage. You’ve made that very clear.”
The words sliced clean through my chest.
I stared at him, my vision blurring. “Renzo....”
“We were forced into this,” he continued, his voice steady but empty. “And you hate us.”
Something inside me cracked.
“That’s not....”
“So we’re doing you a favor, we’ll leave with Linda” Ryder cut in, his tone calm but detached. “You can have the night to yourself.”
I felt like the floor had vanished beneath my feet.
My mouth opened, but nothing came out.
“Let’s go, Linda,” Ronan said quietly.
She clung to his arm instantly, her fingers tightening possessively, her head leaning into his shoulder as if it belonged there. He didn’t pull away. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
They turned.
All three of them.
And walked toward the door.
I stood there, rooted in place, watching my mates, my husbands, leave me alone on my wedding night.
Just before they crossed the threshold, Linda looked back.
Her lips curved into a slow, deliberate smile.
Not sad.
Not scared.
Victorious.
The door closed.
The silence that followed was deafening.
My knees buckled.
I didn’t remember sinking onto the edge of the bed, but suddenly I was there, my hands gripping the red fabric of my nightgown like it was the only thing keeping me upright.
My wolf howled inside me, raw, wounded, furious.
She stole them, she cried. She tricked them.
I pressed a hand to my chest as the bond throbbed painfully, stretched thin like a wire pulled too tight. I could still feel them, three steady pulses moving farther away.
Tears spilled freely now.
I had done everything they asked of me.
I stood at the altar.
I endured the mark.
I sacrificed myself.
And still.... it wasn’t enough.
I couldn’t get them to fuck me like Alpha Ashford wanted.
Linda took them away, from me.
And I knew she was going to make them fuck her instead.
