Ronan’s POV
I wanted to take Linda back to school.
But Linda’s fingers trembled as she clutched the hem of her skirt, her voice breaking into soft whimpers as she shook her head.
“I can’t go back like this, Ronan,” she said weakly. “I cant stop crying and everyone will stare. I just... I just want to go home.”
Guilt settled deep in my chest.
“Okay,” I said quietly. “I’ll take you home.”
The drive was silent except for her uneven breathing. I kept glancing at her, making sure she was okay, that she wasn’t in pain, that she wasn’t bawling her eyes out again. Each time our eyes met, she offered a fragile smile that only made my chest ache more.
When we finally pulled into her driveway, she didn’t move to get out right away.
“Do you want to come in?” she asked softly.
I hesitated.
I shouldn’t. I knew that. Everything felt.... complicated now.
But then she added quietly, “My parents went on that business trip with your dad. The house is empty and I don’t want to be alone right now.”
That did it.
I couldn’t leave her.
Inside, the house felt too quiet. Too still. She led me upstairs, her steps slow, unsteady, straight into her room. She sat on the edge of the bed while I stood in front of her, unsure, restless.
“Are you okay?” I asked.
That was when she broke.
Tears spilled down her cheeks as she covered her face. “I feel awful, Ronan. I feel like all of this is my fault.”
My heart clenched.
She lifted her head, eyes red, voice shaking. “I didn’t mean for any of this to happen. During combat class... Jade activated her wolf. She went crazy.”
I froze.
“She was jealous,” Linda continued, sobbing. “I was just telling her that you and your brothers spent the weekend with me, helping me recover, and she snapped. She tried to hurt me. I only defended myself. I didn’t even mean to slash her, she fell into my claws on purpose. She wanted to make me look like the villain. She wanted you.”
Each word landed hard, it definitely sounded like something Jade would do. She was an evil manipulator and me and my brothers found that out the hard way.
So I didn’t doubt Linda for a second.
I sat beside her immediately, taking her hands in mine. “Hey.... hey. None of this is your fault.”
She looked at me like she was afraid. “Do you hate me now? Like your brothers do?”
“No,” I said instantly. “Never.”
I brushed my thumb gently under her eyes, wiping away her tears. “No one could ever make me hate you. Especially not Jade. She’s done enough damage to us already.”
Her shoulders shook.
“I know it seems like she’s gotten to Renzo and Ryder,” I went on quietly. “But I’ll talk to them. I’ll remind them of everything she’s done. I’ll remind them who’s always been there. You’re the only girl for us. Always have been.”
Her breathing hitched and her sofflt delicate fingers touched my face.
"Thank you for not leaving me like everyone else Ronan, I’ve always loved you the most" She muttered and I smiled.
Then she leaned in.
Her lips met mine, tentative at first, like she was asking permission.
I kissed her back.
The world narrowed to warmth and closeness, to the familiar comfort she’d always represented.
We sank back against the bed, her hands slid up, tugging gently at my shirt, unbuttoning it and sliding her hand down my bare chest to my crotch.
I didn’t stop her, I let her do whatever she wanted with me as long as it made her feel better.

"Not at all Linda, you can never be not attractive to me so please do not think, I’m just really concerned about you and the way Renzo and Ryder behaved today, that is why I am a little distracted and I am sorry about that" I apologized and pulled Linda an embrace.
"You always have me by your side Linda, and no one, not even Jade can change that." I stated to Linda as I gently patted her back.
Renzo’s POV
Ryder and I left the hospital after clearing Jade’s discharge papers and we returned back home.
Immediately we returned, I removed my cloth and entered the shower, letting the cold water run down my body.
