Chapter 18: Chapter 18 How To Make Her Better

Ryder’s POV

My knees hit the ground so hard I barely felt the sting, I couldn’t feel anything except panic. Pure, choking panic.

Jade lay there, her breath shallow, her eyes rolling back, blood pooling around her like a nightmare I couldn’t wake up from. My wolf was thrashing inside me, snarling, clawing, desperate to tear the world apart.

“Stay with me, Jade,” I choked out, my hands shaking uncontrollably as I cupped her cheek. “Don’t you dare die on us. Don’t you fucking dare.”

Ronan immediately dropped beside her, pressing both palms against the deep slashes on her chest, trying to stop the bleeding. His jaw clenched, his eyes glowing dangerously. “Come on... come on....” he muttered, voice trembling.

I glanced back over my shoulder

Renzo was standing several feet away, completely still.

His face was pale. His eyes.... his eyes held something I had never seen in him. Not once. Not in all our lives.

Fear.

Real fear.

“Renzo!!” I yelled, snapping him out of it.

His head jerked up. In an instant he rushed to us, scooped Jade’s limp body into his arms, and stood.

“Let’s go,” he rasped.

We turned....

And Professor Garrick returned, Linda trailing behind him.

“What are you doing?” Garrick demanded. “We just contacted the medics, they’ll be here any mi....”

“They’ll be too slow,” Renzo growled without stopping, his voice edged with a threat that made even the professor step back.

We marched past them.

Linda hurried after us, breathless. “I.... I’ll follow you guys. Jade is my friend. I want to be there for her.”

None of us protested.

Linda had always been kind. Sweet. Gentle. Why would we doubt her?

We reached the car. Renzo slid into the backseat with Jade still in his arms. Ronan jumped in beside him. I launched into the driver’s seat and Linda sat in the front seat.

The tires screeched as I slammed my foot on the accelerator.

I didn’t care about speed limits, didn’t care about the honking cars, didn’t care about anything except the weakening heartbeat I could hear from the backseat.

When we reached the hospital, Renzo flew out of the car before it even came to a full stop, cradling Jade like she was the most fragile thing in the world. We stormed into the reception.

“Someone help!!!!” Ronan roared, voice thick with rage and terror.

“If she dies,” Renzo snarled, eyes glowing bright gold, “every single one of you will suffer a very slow, agonizing death.”

Nurses scattered, terrified.

Doctors rushed over with a stretcher. They placed Jade on it, her head fell to the side

“Move!!!” I barked at anyone too slow.

They wheeled her into the emergency room. The doors slammed shut behind them.

And then.... we were left in the hallway.

Pacing. Growling. Barely contained.

Like beasts losing their minds.

Linda stood several feet from us, wringing her hands. Her voice trembled.

“Y...You... you all look.... genuinely worried. About Jade.”

Renzo snapped his gaze to her so fast she flinched.

“How did she end up like that?” he demanded. “Who slashed her chest?”

Linda’s face went pale. Fear washed over her features, she had never seen Renzo like this before.

“I... I...” she stuttered. “It was a mistake. I swear. Jade tried to attack me first and I was only defending myself. I never meant to hurt her that badly.”

Her voice cracked.

I swallowed hard. I believed her, Linda had always been honest. So sweet it was almost annoying. She wouldn’t lie about this.

But my wolf didn’t care.

My wolf wanted her throat for touching our mate.

Before I could say anything, the emergency room doors burst open. The doctor stepped out, his gloves soaked in blood, his expression grim.

My heart plummeted.

No, no, no, she better not be....

“I need to speak with her guardian,” the doctor said.

“You can speak to us,” Ronan snapped.

“But you’re the Alpha’s sons,” the doctor protested. “You’re not her...” freēwēbnovel.com

“We are her mates,” Renzo cut in, voice deep and possessive.

The doctor’s eyes widened.

“Very well. Come with me.”

Linda took a step to follow, but I turned to her.

“Maybe you should wait out here.”

Her face crumpled, hurt flashing across her eyes, but I didn’t stay long enough to hear whatever she wanted to say.

We followed the doctor through the hall and into a room.

And then I saw her.

Jade lay on the hospital bed.... pale, unmoving, hooked to machines that beeped too slowly. Her chest was wrapped in thick bandages. Her lips had lost all their color. She looked so small. So breakable.

My wolf whimpered in my chest.

A sound I’d never heard from him before.

“We did what we could,” the doctor said quietly. “She’s healing.... but very slowly.”

My breath caught.

“Why?” Ronan demanded.

“Her wolf is still extremely weak. If she continues at this rate... her survival is not certain.”

A growl ripped from my throat before I could stop it.

“We’re not here to listen to problems,” Renzo snapped. “Tell us what we can do to make her better.”

The doctor hesitated... then sighed heavily.

“You said you three are her mates?”

We nodded sharply.

“Then.... there is something. The most powerful healing a werewolf can receive is from their mate’s body. Their fluid. Their seed.”

I blinked.

What?

He continued, voice clinical, unaware of how stunned we were.

“Mating with an injured mate accelerates healing. Dramatically. It is effective and often necessary in critical cases.”

My heart slammed into my ribs. freёwebnovel.com

“So what you’re saying,” I forced out, “is that to save Jade...”

My voice deepened.

“We have to fuck her?”
