Chapter 177: The Hunt Begins
Conan silently walked beside Adrian, who didn’t seem the least bit bothered by the fact that they were walking through a beast-filled forest.
With the way he walked, one would think that he was only going for a normal stroll.
Above them floated a magic tool that recorded and broadcast their actions for all in the South to see.
Most other groups were also spending time surveying and making sure they didn’t headlessly walked into danger.
The only exception to this was Darius.
BOOM!
Another explosion went off as Darius encountered his third beast since the hunt started.
These beasts were at C rank, so they posed no problem to him, especially given that their corrupted counterparts were a lot stronger.
And Darius could handle a horde of corrupted C-rank beasts with ease.
Orion let out a sigh at his little brother’s antics, though he was now quite strong, Darius was still the hot-headed idiot he remembered.
Unlike him, though, citizens of the South were enjoying the show the red-haired idiot was putting on for them.
All most wanted to see destruction and explosions, which wasn’t surprising given who their Grand Duke was.
Anyway, back to Conan and Adrian.
They continued walking through the forest for a while, but they hadn’t encountered any beasts for a while.
Conan frowns at this before muttering, "At this rate, we won’t be able to get enough points before the two hours end."
Adrian looked at him before letting out a chuckle as his shadow extended.
The extended shadow took multiple shapes before suddenly dissolving, leaving behind a pile of beast corpses.
Conan was a bit confused until he saw the tags on the necks of the beasts, and that’s when he understood what was happening.
The beasts lying before him were the ones they were supposed to be hunting, and they ranged from C-B ranks.
"When did you?"
Conan wasn’t surprised at the fact that this much had been killed by Adrian, after all, even he knew how strong the butler was.
Hell, even his scanner only showed an error at his threat level, something that had only happened one other time, and that was when he tried scanning the headmistress.
So no, that wasn’t the reason for his surprise.
The reason for his surprise was the fact that he had been by Adrian’s side all this time, so how did he manage to hunt all these?
"I didn’t," Adrian informed before pointing ahead, "they did."
Conan followed his finger, and his gaze landed on the two ahead of them, a human and a bull.
As far as he could recall, these two hadn’t been part of the fourteen representatives, so where had they come from?
Except,
Conan immediately went on guard as he looked at the two, "Are they also beasts?"
Calling the human a beast didn’t quite make sense, but then again, the beast that had appeared in the capital didn’t make sense either.
Plus, his scanner registered them as beasts, so he had no intention of taking his chances.
"Relax," Adrian said, placing a hand on his shoulder, "those are my clones."
"...."
Conan looked at the two and then back at Adrian before turning back to the two with a single question in mind,
He might not have had much of an education, but even he knew that clones were supposed to look like the person they were cloned from.
"Don’t think too much," Adrian said again with a chuckle as he saw the expression on the kid’s face.
"They’ll help us avoid unnecessary fights while we head to our destination," he continued walking after that, causing Conan to snap out of his thoughts and catch up.
"Our destination?" He asked in confusion.
"Hmm," Adrian nodded and gave an answer that caused Conan’s eyes to go wide, "past the eastern markers."

Meanwhile, Cedric stood in surprise as he looked at his sister’s actions.
The ease with which she was taking down the beasts was truly surprising, and it seemed as if she wasn’t even trying.
He always knew that, unlike him, his sister had quite the talent for the ice element, even when most saw her as a failure, but not once had he thought it would be at this level.
Hell, not even the Grand Duke had this precise control over ice, and he had been using the element basically all his life.
Renelle, on the other hand, had been using it since she was twelve, and she was now nineteen.
Her seven years with ice mana was a lot less than the decades their father had spent with it, and yet, she had more control over it.
"What’s wrong?" Renelle asked as she turned towards him, noticing that he was staring at her.
"I just realized how much of a genius my little sister is," he answered, "it makes me sad since your big brother can’t show off his cool skills to you anymore."
Renelle stared at him for a moment before a small smile appeared on her face.
"You never had cool skills to begin with."
Cedric immediately froze.
"..."
"..."
Renelle could’ve sworn she heard a crack, but she just dismissed it as her imagination.
"How cruel," Cedric muttered while clutching his chest dramatically, " I miss the little sister who loved my ice men."
"Oh, where has she disappeared to?"
"..." Renelle looked at him in silence before turning around, collecting the beast cores in the frozen corpses’ shards, and continuing forward.
Cedric followed behind her, but given the direction we were heading, he couldn’t help but ask, "Where are we headed?" freewebnσvel.cѳm
Renelle answered without turning back, "beyond the eastern markers."
Cedric looked at her for a while before letting out a sigh and following,
Yes, they were warned not to cross it, but no one said anything about them being disqualified if they crossed it.
So, might as well just head there and farm more points.
His line of thought matched most of the other representatives as they also headed towards the eastern markers. ƒгeewёbnovel.com

Marion, dressed as Cassian, suddenly stopped in his tracks. The beast, lunging at him, suddenly got tangled in lines of invisible threads before wind blades sliced it open.
"What’s this?" He muttered to himself with a smile, "It seems everyone is headed towards the eastern markers."
He then turned towards that direction and said,
"Let’s not miss the party then."
