Chapter 2123: Chapter 2123: Eighteenth Coming-of-Age Ceremony (Part 5)

She even told Lu Zhiwei that she might as well say she has cancer to see if he would return. Naturally, Lu Zhiwei scolded her for that, and the matter was dropped.

Lu Xian was just like back then — even after being scolded, he wasn’t angry. He lowered his head and smiled, placing the luggage bag on the ground, then he bent down to speak to the little boy beside him, "Go, call Grandma."

"You... you..." Only then did Zhao Li notice the little child next to him.

She looked at Lu Xian and then at the little child, shocked speechless.

The little boy was a bit shy, his beautiful eyelashes fluttered, but under Lu Xian’s encouraging gaze, he still stepped forward and called out to Zhao Li, "Grandma."

"!!!" Zhao Li.

"This... this child..." She wiped her tears, unable to speak properly.

"Mom, we’ve been traveling all day. Let’s go back first; Amon is tired," Lu Xian didn’t rush to answer but bent down to pick up the sleepy little boy, and said to Zhao Li.

Zhao Li was completely bewildered by the scene. She glanced at the child being picked up, turned back, and said to the Ruanlin Family and Ruan Jiaojiao, "Auntie, Jiaojiao, I’ll head back first."

"Go ahead, go ahead, Xiaoxuan should be tired too, go home and rest for a while and come back for dinner together," the Ruanlin Family said.

Lu Xian nodded at her, looked at the seemingly dumbfounded Ruan Jiaojiao as well, nodded again, then picked up the little boy and left with Zhao Li.

It wasn’t until their figures disappeared outside the courtyard that Ruan Jiaojiao came back to her senses.

"Grandma, regarding that child..." Ruan Jiaojiao had a guess but thought it wasn’t very likely.

No matter how you look at it, the boy seemed to be three or four years old. Lu Xian left the country when she was in her first year of college, plus the pregnancy period, there’s no way he could have had a child so big.

The question Ruan Jiaojiao thought of, the Ruanlin Family naturally thought of too, mumbling, "Where did this child come from? Could it be he’s adopted?"

Ruan Jiaojiao shook her head, returned to the living room, and sat on the sofa but didn’t feel like watching TV.

She thought for a moment, took out her phone, and called Lu Zishu, saying his brother was back. Lu Zishu let out a groundhog-like scream on the other end and hung up the phone the next second. Ruan Jiaojiao covered her ears, nearly deafened, guessing Lu Zishu must be on his way back by now.

Back at the Lu Family, Zhao Li returned to the villa with Lu Xian like a block of wood, still in a daze.

"This child..."

"He’s my child, our Lu Family’s child, your grandson," Lu Xian replied, eyes gently watching as the little boy nestled in his arms fell asleep.

"Mom, I’ll explain everything to you later. I’ve traveled all day and I’m a bit tired, I’ll go sleep for a while."

Seeing Lu Xian truly looking fatigued, Zhao Li swallowed back the words she wanted to say. Unable to prepare his room in time, she quickly tidied up a guest room downstairs.

Lu Xian waited for her to finish making the bed, then gently scooped up the child in his arms and entered the room, placing him on the bed. As soon as the child left his arms, he became a bit restless, grasping for something in the air until he caught Lu Xian’s hand, and only then did he settle down.

Lu Xian carefully lay down beside him, exuding natural paternal love that left Zhao Li once again somewhat dumbfounded.
