Chapter 2120: Chapter 2120: The Eighteenth Coming-of-Age Ceremony (Part 2)
An eighteen-year-old girl, fully blossomed, with snow-white skin, delicate features, and a graceful figure, exuding youthful energy in every way.
Jiang Xun watched as Ruan Jiaojiao walked towards him bit by bit, his gaze involuntarily turning a bit dazed.
When he recklessly ran away from home, he called her to confess, only for her to respond with, "You’re disgusting." If he claimed he wasn’t resentful, that would be a lie.
But over the past year, as time passed, the resentment and hatred miraculously faded, leaving only the initial stirrings of his heart.
He looked at her, almost greedily, unwilling to look away.
Ruan Jiaojiao felt uncomfortable under his gaze, but still forced herself to say, "Class monitor, I want a few minutes during the class meeting on Wednesday, okay?"
Jiang Xun didn’t answer, his gaze still burning into her.
He suddenly felt a sense of emotion.
"Jiaojiao, this is the first time you’ve spoken to me in over a year."
"..." Ruan Jiaojiao.
She held back and asked, "Is it okay? Class monitor."
"Jiaojiao, what happened back then wasn’t like the rumors outside. Nianian and I..."
"Class monitor! We’re talking about you giving me a few minutes during the class meeting!" Ruan Jiaojiao interrupted him.
Seeing that Ruan Jiaojiao didn’t want to discuss that topic, and noticing the impatience in her eyes, Jiang Xun felt a stab of pain in his heart, and after a few seconds, he nodded.
Ruan Jiaojiao thanked him and turned to leave, but as soon as she turned around, she heard Jiang Xun behind her say with certainty, "Jiaojiao, you still care about me."
Ruan Jiaojiao turned back incredulously.
"Jiaojiao, you’re very smart. You should know what it means to cover up something. You’ve avoided me all these years because you have feelings, you just don’t want to admit it," Jiang Xun said with conviction.
Oh my god!
Ruan Jiaojiao almost swore out loud.
She simply couldn’t understand how he had the audacity to say such things!
Avoiding him because she had feelings? What kind of fairy logic was that?
Ruan Jiaojiao simply couldn’t tolerate this.
She took a deep breath, then lifted her head and gave Jiang Xun a fake smile, saying, "Wait a minute, I’ll get you something to look at."
Saying this, she turned and ran over to Li Yaoyao, rummaged through the bag Li Yaoyao was holding for her, and pulled out a palm-sized box.
"Jiaojiao, what are you doing with the mirror?" Li Yaoyao asked, puzzled.
"Teaching someone a lesson!" Ruan Jiaojiao replied.
She returned to Jiang Xun, opened the little box in her hand, revealing a small mirror she had bought at a night market not long ago. It was round, with a cover featuring a popular drama still, and inside were two round mirrors.
She raised the mirror in the air, motioning for Jiang Xun to look.
Jiang Xun, clueless, leaned in.
Ruan Jiaojiao smiled and asked, "Do you see it?"
"A mirror?" Jiang Xun was confused.
"What’s in the mirror?" Ruan Jiaojiao asked.
What’s in the mirror? Wasn’t it him? But the mirror was too small to show everything.
Jiang Xun was even more confused, looking at her in bewilderment.
Ruan Jiaojiao smiled, pointing at the small half of his face in the mirror, and said, "See it clearly? How big your face is! The mirror can’t even fit it!"
"..." Jiang Xun’s face instantly turned black.
Li Yaoyao, who had come over out of curiosity, couldn’t help but burst out laughing.
Ruan Jiaojiao snapped the mirror shut with a click, shrugged her shoulders, and, completely unapologetic for having hurt someone else’s self-esteem, turned and left with Li Yaoyao.
