Chapter 226: Eternity With You
At the wedding venue, everyone arrived in a timely manner. Alistair, dressed in his best, was already at the altar. The master of ceremony was there with him, to officiate their marriage. Vyrena was also up there, as she was in charge of the second part of the ceremony.
Alistair looked beyond the crowd that had gathered nervously. He readjusted his collar again for the third time as he looked on anxiously.
Roxine tapped him gently on the shoulder and he turned to meet her. She had never seen him this anxious before, not for anything in all of Gaeia.
"Stop fidgeting, Your Majesty," she said with a slight chuckle as she straightened his collar for him.
Alistair grinned as he replied, "I know, I know. I just can’t help it."
He was happy to have one of his closest friends here to witness him finding true love. If it had not been for Roxine, he would have never found Sierra. Ultimately, it was all thanks to her that they were able to make it to this point.
"Thank you," he whispered to Roxine.
"Thank you for straightening your collar?" she mused as she arched an eyebrow.
"Thank you for bringing Sierra to me," he explained with a wide smile, "If it wasn’t for you, I don’t think we would have ever met."
"Well, in turn, I should be thanking Sierra then," Roxine mused, "If she had not entered our lives, I don’t think I would have ever had the courage..."
She glanced over to meet Diane, who smiled back at her. "I would never be able to find happiness too."
Alistair nodded, "I’m glad we both found the people we love."
As Roxine stepped back to the side, Alistair straightened his back. He let out a breath of nervous air. His little chat with Roxine helped him calm his nerves a little. But now, it was getting to him again. His palms were covered in a thin layer of sweat.
"Well, if it makes you feel any better," Vy joked to distract him, "Sierra had a much worse time waiting for you."
Alistair glared at her for a quick second, "That just made me feel a whole lot worse."
Vy chuckled, "Good. Now you’re making up for it."
A few moments later, a messenger arrived, bringing good news. As the orchestra began to play melodious music. All the guests got up on their feet. Sierra, in her finest, arrived in style.
Her father, General Leon, held her hand as she walked down the aisle. All of her friends and family were here to celebrate the most important day with her and Sierra could not be happier.
When they finally arrived at the end of the aisle, Leon handed Sierra’s hand to Alistair.
"Take great care of each other," he said to both of them softly with a bright smile, before taking his seat amongst the crowd.
Sierra and Alistair faced one another, holding each other’s hands tightly. Both of them never ever wanted to let go of the other ever again. Not for eternity. frёeωebɳovel.com
"You look breathtaking, sweetling," Alistair whispered to her.
Sierra blushed, "You look very handsome."
The first part of the ceremony went on without a hitch. The master of ceremony finished the final part of her speech before handing things off to Vyrena who came up to the podium.
"We’re gathered here today for the union of Queen Sierra of Cair, and King Alistair of Drakin. Life has thrown them many obstacles yet they always persevere and show us that love finds a way. No matter how tough it may be, love always finds a way.
Now, the Queen and King have prepared their own vows for the ceremony. They will serve as their promises to one another."
Vy gave Alistair the cue to begin first. He took in a deep breath and began to recite his first. Roxine came up from the side, with a satin pillow in her hands that had a pair of beautiful matching rings on it.
"I promise to always love you, in sickness and in health, in sorrow and in joy.
I will forever honor and respect every decision you make.
I cherish every moment we have had in the past, cherish as we relish in the present, and will continue to do so for every moment that is to come. The good, the bad, and the in between.
For all of eternity, beyond the end of time, we will never be apart. Life brought us together here and now, death will never pull us apart."
Upon finishing his set of vows, Alistair picked up the ring from the satin pillow and fitted it onto Sierra’s ring finger. Both of their eyes were wet with tears, and so were some of their friends and family.
Vy and Roxine, who were upfront, were doing their best to keep any tears at bay.
"Queen Sierra, it’s your turn now," Vy gestured over to her.
With a shaking hand, Sierra picked up the ring from the satin pillow. She looked over to Alistair with a wide smile on her face.
"I promise to love you, regardless of health or wealth. fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
I will honor every promise, every decision you make.
I cherish the past, the present, and look forward to the future we will spend together.
My love for you stands firm against the lengths of eternity. Death nor time will ever pull us apart."
With the end of her vows, Sierra slipped the finger onto Alistair’s ring finger.
An audible gasp of joy could be heard through the venue, as the exchange of rings signaled the completion of the marriage ceremony.
"Under the skies and above the soil beneath our feet, we all bear witness to the union of these two souls before us. May the Universe watch over them on our behalf. Beyond time, beyond realms, for all of eternity that is to come.
You may now seal your marriage union with a kiss."
Amongst the applause and cheers, Sierra and Alistair shared a loving kiss.
Fate brought them together.
Their love united them for all of eternity.
