Chapter 155: Love Is Love
Sierra could not help but giggle when she heard their exchange. Now Dygo was blushing beet red too.
"My apologies, Sierra. I..."
"No apologies needed. Love is love, is it not?" She chuckled in response.
Perhaps one day in the near future, she and Alistair would be just like Dygo and Vyrena. If the future for them was bright, they would be able to openly express their affection for one another, without worry.
After exchanging a few more words in a hushed voice, Dygo bid them both goodnight before making his way back to his room. Vy turned back to Sierra, with the same amount of enthusiasm on her face as they entered the room.
Sierra gasped in amazement upon entering. The unique interior was unlike anything she had seen before. The floor was not made out of wood, or stone, like what she had been used to. The walls were different too.
But what surprised her most was the view from outside the window, along with the hot spring, overflowing with heated water.
"This... this is..." she had no words to describe the beauty before her.
But the thought that followed was one she could easily describe. She wished Alistair was here to witness it with her.
"It’s beautiful isn’t it?" Vy said with a smile as she placed a hand on Sierra’s shoulder.
Seeing as the weather was a lot colder than in Drakin, Vy suggested that she changed into the yukata that she had received at the reception first. After changing, Sierra could not understand how the sash worked, so Vy came to her aid.
"Thank you," Sierra said as Vy tightened the sash around her waist before putting it into a simple bow.
"You’re most welcome. You look really good in this color," Vy praised.
"Really?" Sierra pursed her lips as she averted her gaze.
Vy smirked, knowing exactly what was going through her mind.
"You’re wondering what Alistair would think if he saw you dressed like this, aren’t you?" she teased her.
Sierra widened her eyes, stunned. Vy had taken the thoughts right out of her mind. How was it even possible?
"How did you... Are you able to read my mind?" Sierra asked boldly.
With everything she had seen the young woman be able to do, she would not be surprised that Vy could read minds. Heck, if she told her she could fly, she would believe it too.
Vy chuckled as she shook her head, "Just intuition based on the look on your face. Although, I do have the ability to do so."
Vy signaled her to take a seat at the low table in the middle of the room. As she did, Vy brewed them a pot of piping hot tea.
"This should warm us up," she said as she carefully scooped two tiny spoonfuls of powdered green tea into the teapot before giving it a good stir.
"That green powder is tea?" Sierra asked. She had never seen it before.
"Yes, it’s powdered green tea. It has a more earthy flavor, it’s really good," Vy explained as she poured her a small cup, "Here, give it a try."
Even the teacup used here was different from what she was used to. Not only did it not have a handle, but it also did not come with a saucer.
"This must be all new to you," Vy mused as she took a sip from her own cup of tea.
"It is... I feel like a country bumpkin," Sierra mused as she took a sip of tea too.
She was surprised by how earthy it tasted. The hue of dark green was not something she commonly saw either.
"This is good..."
"Would you like a little more?"
"Yes please," Sierra held out her tea cup as Vy poured her more tea.
"How did Dygo and you meet?" Sierra asked, unable to contain her curiosity any longer.
Vy paused for a moment, uncertain of how to reply.
"I’m sorry if it’s too personal, you don’t have to answer if you’re uncomfortable," Sierra responded immediately, worried she might have offended her.
"Oh no no, that’s quite alright," Vy laughed it off as she gathered her thoughts, "We’ve known each other since our teenage years, but we didn’t meet in Gaeia. We met in our home country... which is in a different realm." fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
Sierra took a moment to process the information, a little stunned to hear it. She had heard of myths and legends of other realms, but she could not say she knew for certain it was real. Even now, as Vy mentioned, she still found it hard to believe.
"I don’t expect you to believe and the story is a long one that’s not going to be finished over a pot of tea. We might need a few days to cover everything," Vy mused as she took another sip.
"But when I arrived in Gaeia, it took Dygo and I some time to find one another. We also had quite a number of obstacles to face between us but eventually, the stars aligned and we found each other."
"That’s... poetic. Beautiful," Sierra whispered as she looked down at the cup in her hands.
She recalled how Alistair and her first met. Their first encounter was one of pure chance. Their meeting at the first hall could not have been chance. One meeting in the forest was all it took for him to come searching for her over and over again. ƒreewebɳovel.com
"How about Alistair and you?" Vy asked as she flickered her eyes over to Sierra for a moment, "How did you two meet?"
"We met in a forest. But I didn’t know he was King then, nor did I..."
"Nor did you know you were both gonna fall in love with each other?" Vy teased as she nudged her in the arm, causing Sierra to blush.
"You really are quite straightforward with your words, aren’t you," Sierra chuckled.
Both women shared a good laugh. They enjoyed each other’s company, and the conversation they had was always filled with excitement and thrill.
"My apologies if I accidentally offended you at any point. Past, present, or future. Old habits die hard, and when you’ve lived long enough, you tend not to care too much about what you say," Vy mused.
"Long enough? You don’t look a day over 25!"
Sierra had heard of beings that look young and yet are hundreds, sometimes thousands of years old. Could Vy be one of such beings?
"Oh you flatter me, Sierra. Before I came here, I lived for more than half a century," she replied Sierra casually.
She was too stunned to respond.
Vy decided to change the subject, "It’s getting pretty late, shall we turn in for the night?"
