Chapter 38: Chapter 38: Muu Xue

A Celestial-Level Sword Skill! Its power was undeniable.

At Qin Yuxiang’s current Realm of Profound Origin Ninth Grade, she could only unleash less than one percent of its true power. Even so, with this single move, she could sweep through the entire Profound Origin Realm and even contend with those in the Spiritual Element Realm.

"Aunt, I never expected your talent for the Sword Dao to be so exceptional. You’ve cultivated Setting Sun Blood to this level in less than a month." Qin Ya was amazed. Since his rebirth, the person he’d seen with the greatest talent for the Sword Dao was the Li Family’s number one expert, Li Peiyi. But from the looks of it now, Qin Yuxiang was her equal, if not her superior.

"It’s all because you’re a good teacher, Xiaoya." Qin Yuxiang smiled, gave her sword a flourish, and sheathed Star Trace.

Qin Ya shook his head. Although he had guided her, there was an old saying: "The master opens the door, but you must enter by yourself." If Qin Yuxiang didn’t possess such talent, his guidance would have been useless, no matter how good it was.

...

「More than half a month passed in the blink of an eye.」

By the lake, Qin Ya sat on a green stone with his eyes lightly closed and a faint smile on his lips. The Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi in the area surged into his body like a rolling tide, washing through his limbs and bones before transforming into pure True Essence that filled his Qi Pool.

The Qi Pool within him resembled a vast lake, with True Essence visible to the naked eye swirling like mist above its surface.

Qin Ya’s Cultivation had now reached the Profound Origin Fifth Grade!

Suddenly, Qin Ya’s eyes snapped open, a sharp light glinting within them. He rose, then pushed off with his legs, and the green stone beneath him instantly fractured. Like a cannonball, Qin Ya launched himself toward the center of the lake.

The lake was a hundred meters across. A Martial Artist in the Profound Origin Realm could leap thirty to forty meters at most. Although Qin Ya was far stronger than an ordinary Profound Origin Realm Martial Artist, his body began to descend after he crossed the sixty-meter mark.

With his hair whipping in the wind, Qin Ya smiled calmly. The unique nature of his Leakless Body allowed his True Essence to recover at an extraordinary rate. He gave his True Essence a sudden surge, instantly executing the Carefree Travel Body Technique.

Qin Ya’s feet tapped upon the green water. His movements were graceful, like a dragonfly skimming the surface. With a few light steps across the lake, he crossed the remaining forty-plus meters and landed on the opposite shore.

Upon landing, his gaze sharpened. A cold light flashed, and the jet-black Hundred Battles Long Spear appeared in his hand.

With a sharp cry, Qin Ya’s long spear became wreathed in fierce Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi. It moved with such sudden speed that it traced a black arc through the air, looking like an unstoppable Flood Dragon emerging from the sea.

The cold wind howled, as if trembling in awe of this astonishing spear strike!

Spear Technique: Wind-Splitting!

The moment he executed the Wind-Splitting Spear Technique, it seemed to tear the wind and sunder the earth!

BOOM! The ground before Qin Ya shattered, revealing a shocking fissure over thirty yards long!

’Compared to half a month ago, my Cultivation has reached the Profound Origin Fifth Grade, and my comprehension of the Mysterious Technique of Wind has deepened. I’d say I’ve finally achieved a high level of proficiency with this Wind-Splitting Spear Technique.’

Qin Ya muttered to himself, retracting the spear. He stood tall, his posture as straight and proud as the Hundred Battles Spear itself.

With a flash of light, he returned the Hundred Battles Spear to his Storage Ring. Then, he once again executed the Carefree Travel Body Technique, vanishing in a blur.

...

Within Mingxin Academy, geniuses were as common as carp crossing a river. Someone like Qin Yunlong, while outstanding, was not considered among the absolute elite. Here, there were even students approaching the Earth Element Realm, each one a renowned prodigy of the Yunxiao Empire.

And Muu Xue was one such prodigy.

At the young age of twenty-four, she had already cultivated to the Peak of Spiritual Element Ninth Grade. Furthermore, she was also an Alchemist.

Her talent for the Alchemy Dao was not to be underestimated either. She frequently refined and sold grade-one and grade-two elixirs, making her a well-known figure throughout the Academy.

Her greatest wish was to become a Ninth-Grade Alchemist!

If not for the fact that Martial Arts and the Alchemy Dao complemented each other, with the former aiding the latter, she would have been willing to devote her entire being to the Alchemy Dao. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ

Yet, for the past few days, this very prodigy had been burdened by worries. Her expression was haggard, and she would occasionally become so lost in thought while walking that she’d bump into a tree.

"Muu Xue, are you all right?" Her good friend, Feng Ling, quickly caught her as she nearly tripped over a rock, her voice filled with concern.

"Me? I’m fine!" Muu Xue pointed to herself, then kicked away the head-sized rock at her feet. "You didn’t really think a rock could trip me, did you? You’re kidding, right?"

Muu Xue smiled and continued walking. Suddenly, she felt a lurch of weightlessness as one of her feet found only empty air—she had stepped into a hole. Just as she was about to fall, her flailing hands latched onto something for support.

Muu Xue let out a sigh of relief and looked up. Before her was a face that, while not conventionally handsome, was pleasant and grew on you. A flash of surprise crossed his deep, vortex-like black eyes as he stared down at her.

"Miss, are you all right?" Qin Ya asked calmly, looking at Muu Xue’s face, now just inches from his own.

"Oh, I-I’m fine." Muu Xue quickly stood up straight, a faint blush coloring her cheeks as she spoke in a fluster.

Feng Ling walked over, shot Qin Ya an apologetic glance, and then tapped Muu Xue on the head. "Muu Xue, what has gotten into you lately? Why are you always so out of it?"

"Sigh... I’ve run into some problems with my research." Seeing her friend’s annoyed-but-worried expression, Muu Xue sighed and confessed the truth.

Then, she turned to Qin Ya gratefully. "Thank you so much, fellow student. If it weren’t for you, I would have taken a nasty fall."

"It’s nothing. Though, this is the first time I’ve ever seen a Ninth-Grade Spiritual Element Realm Martial Artist who can’t even walk without falling," Qin Ya remarked. It was true. A Martial Artist’s senses were far superior to an ordinary person’s. Forget tripping while walking; they could easily dodge a stone thrown at them, provided, of course, it was thrown by a normal person.

"My friend here has been a bit preoccupied lately. I hope you’ll excuse her," Feng Ling said with a smile. Muu Xue stood to the side, looking embarrassed.

"It’s no trouble."

Qin Ya shook his head and walked away.

Watching his retreating figure, Muu Xue wondered aloud, "Who is he? Why haven’t I ever seen him at the Academy before?"

"His Cultivation is only at the Profound Origin Fifth Grade, so he’s probably a new student," Feng Ling guessed. She then tapped Muu Xue’s pale forehead again. "And look at you, always obsessing over your research. You’re completely possessed by it."

Muu Xue rubbed her forehead. "Feng Ling, this research is really important! If I succeed, I’ll become an Alchemist renowned throughout the entire Yunxiao Empire. When that day comes, I’ll have your back."

Mingxin Academy was enormous. If not for the map Huaa Que had given him, Qin Ya would have had a hard time finding his destination.

The Black Tortoise Curtain, located in the center of Mingxin Academy, was used to display the class schedules for the various teachers.
