Chapter 305: Alexander Is with Her
Sharon Sinclair added, "We should treat the wound first! We don’t want it to scar." Tristan Sterling’s gaze fell darkly on the blood at the corner of Rachel Royce’s forehead. His thin lips parted, and he uttered just two words: "Five minutes." His tone was terse, yet it carried an air that brooked no argument.
Bianca Lowe nodded, then led Anna away. Chalrton Lawrence followed them out.
Tristan Sterling noticed the first-aid kit on the coffee table and the gauze on her hand. He helped her sit down. "Your hand is injured?" Sharon Sinclair explained what happened and apologized to Rachel Royce again, taking full responsibility for the incident and blaming her staff’s incompetence.
As she spoke, she watched for any change in Tristan Sterling’s expression.
Although Tristan Sterling was usually amicable at gatherings, they all knew deep down that he wasn’t one to pull his punches or care about saving face.
It was precisely because they understood this that they were always careful to maintain a proper distance from him, never daring to offend him.
Tristan Sterling’s expression was cold and unreadable, betraying little emotion.
Sharon Sinclair felt completely uncertain.
The man took antiseptic and cotton swabs from the first-aid kit. He gently dipped a swab in the liquid before speaking slowly, "Sharon, stay out of Anna Lawrence’s business. Whoever made the mistake will be the one to bear the consequences." Hearing this, Sharon Sinclair let out a soft sigh. Knowing that more words would be futile, she tactfully kept quiet.
Tristan Sterling carefully treated the wound on Rachel Royce’s forehead.
Alexander Sullivan stood to the side, watching quietly with an impassive expression.
Sharon Sinclair looked at the three of them.
’There’s just an indescribably strange feeling about this whole thing,’ she thought.
She turned and left the parlor.
She ran right into Jason Sinclair, who noticed her troubled expression and asked, "Sis, what’s wrong?" Sharon Sinclair grabbed his arm and pulled him toward a secluded corner, lowering her voice. "Come with me."
Once Sharon and Jason Sinclair had moved a safe distance away,
"What happened?"
Sharon Sinclair gave him a brief explanation of the situation, mentioning Alexander Sullivan’s attitude toward Rachel Royce, and how she felt there was something strange and unspoken between Evelynn and Tristan Sterling.
Listening to Sharon Sinclair, Jason Sinclair said, "That does sound very strange." He had suspected something was wrong when the servant came looking for Chalrton Lawrence earlier.
Franklin Fitzwilliam had asked Tristan Sterling, "Aren’t you going to go check on her?"
Tristan had replied, "Alexander is with her."
But in the end, Tristan still went downstairs to see the situation for himself.
’So Tristan knew Alexander would protect Evelynn, and he was fine with letting another man look after his woman?’
Honestly,
he couldn’t make heads or tails of their situation either.
"I don’t know how Tristan Sterling and Alexander Sullivan plan to handle this now. Anna really went too far this time. She was probably triggered by the sight of Tristan with another woman." And of all the days for something like this to happen, it had to be today, at their home.
The Sinclair and Lawrence families were quite close, so they naturally didn’t want to see Anna’s actions cause trouble for the entire Lawrence family. It would put them in an awkward position.
She couldn’t help but think that Alexander Sullivan and Evelynn weren’t really part of their close-knit social circle. ’In the future,’ she resolved, ’we should stick to inviting people we’re familiar with to these kinds of gatherings.’
"I’ll go check on Anna. You go find Tristan Sterling and the others. Whatever you do, don’t let this get blown out of proportion."
Jason Sinclair grunted in agreement. "I’ll do my best."
"Okay."
The two of them went their separate ways.
When Jason Sinclair entered the parlor, the atmosphere was exceptionally quiet—eerily so.
Rachel Royce now had a Band-Aid on her forehead.
Jason Sinclair walked over to her and asked with concern, "Evelynn, are you okay?"
Rachel Royce looked up at him. "I’m fine."
Jason Sinclair nodded. "That’s good."
