“Mommy, this tiger is so big...”
Jasmine trotted over on her short little legs, patter patter, to Vieya’s side. She curiously sized up the blue-colored tiger, tugged on Vieya’s clothes, and asked in a small voice,
“So why are we catching it? To eat its meat?”
“To take it back as a beast slave.”
Vieya shook her head and moved the foot she had planted on the tiger’s head away. The tiger immediately and quietly lifted its head, its beastly pupils glaring viciously at Vieya’s back.
In the very next second, the blue tiger used its actions to prove what it meant by: love is precious, life is even more valuable, but for the sake of freedom, both can be thrown away.
The blue tiger suddenly sprang forward, lunging at the slime girl’s slender body—only to be met with Vieya’s backhand punch straight to its jaw.
The tiger’s ferocious expression froze together with the air itself, followed by a violent surge of force, with the force of a thunderclap!
Boom!
The shockwave toppled trees, branches and leaves flying everywhere.
Jasmine watched as the blue tiger was sent flying into the sky by Mommy’s rising uppercut. Its eyes were unfocused, its brain seemingly still unable to process what had just happened. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom
“Looks like this monster’s intelligence is subpar. It couldn’t grasp its master’s lofty intentions and actually dared to counterattack,” Isabelle frowned. “Should we just kill it and find another one that’s obedient and smart?”
“It’s fine. You don’t need high intelligence to incubate an egg.” Vieya shook her slightly numb little hand.
Boom!
Behind them, the massive body of the blue tiger fell from the sky and slammed heavily into a tree dozens of meters tall—bang! The trunk snapped in half, dust billowing everywhere.
Vieya walked over with her maid and daughter, glanced at the blue tiger a few times, then looked a little disappointed.
“But yeah, its intelligence really isn’t great. Feels like it’s not even as smart as the cat we keep at home. Forget it—let me get hands-on first and feel it out. See if its belly is soft enough, if the temperature is suitable...”
At the very second Vieya reached out her hand, the blue tiger—lying there with its tongue out, pretending to be dead—suddenly burst up. But this time it didn’t dare attack Vieya at all. Instead, it rolled and scrambled, bolting straight toward the depths of the forest.
This woman is terrifying. I have to run.
But the maid who had been waiting for an opening nearby was faster. In an instant, her figure vanished from where she stood.
Bang!
The dull impact shattered the forest’s silence once again, sending a flock of birds scattering into the air.
A moment later, the maid returned, dragging the motionless blue tiger back in front of Vieya. She bowed and said,
“Sorry, Master. I acted on my own without your permission...”
“Remember to be obedient next time, okay? Otherwise, I’ll have to punish a maid who acts without following her master’s orders.”
After saying that, Vieya turned her gaze to the blue tiger in front of her. After being beaten in rounds, even a tiger this dumb had realized the fact that it was no match. It lay on the ground trembling lightly, wanting to let out a few roars to intimidate—
“Wu-miao...”
Vieya was very satisfied by this. She patted the tiger’s fur. The feel was nice—warm and soft. Even though it was a mammal, it wasn’t completely unusable for incubating eggs.
But Vieya’s goal didn’t stop there. To be safe, she didn’t plan to let the other target monsters in the Monster Forest go either.
After bundling up the submissive blue tiger and tossing it into the Golden City, Vieya and the others set off again. From eight in the morning all the way until eleven-thirty at noon, they stayed busy before capturing the rest of the monsters she liked and adding them to their haul.
Aside from the first tiger they caught, there was also a plateau eagle, a flame-tail wolf, a long-haired deer, and a water-spraying duck.
Among them, only the water-spraying duck was at early second rank. The other monsters were all around fifth or sixth rank. So catching them was easy—like slicing melons and chopping vegetables.
Throughout the entire process, Jasmine had an absolute blast. With her mommy and the maid watching and cheering her on, she set a brand-new record by defeating the terrifying three-meter-tall water-spraying duck in an hour and a half.
‘Not bad. My daughter can already handle second-rank monsters on her own this year. When she can defeat third-rank monsters, she’ll basically have the strength of a high-level mage... sigh.’
Vieya suddenly felt a little depressed. Back then, it had only taken her a bit over a year to go from a level-1 newbie who couldn’t even beat a slime to level 600. After that, it took her less than three more years to reach level 900 and stand at the very peak of the world.
As for the following years, her level slowly climbed to 999 and stopped there. But the power inside her body and her three core attributes kept increasing. Even stacking several ordinary ninth-rank experts together still wouldn’t be enough for her to cut down.
And Flaviel’s talent was terrifying too. According to a little secret the World Tree had told her, Flaviel had been under twenty years old six years ago... which meant that when Flaviel met her, she had only been around ten years old. Thinking about it carefully was honestly a bit horrifying. Vieya suspected she should have gone to prison and become cellmates with the Dragon King.
But when she asked the dragon egg, it told her there was nothing like that and told her to relax. The concept of time simply didn’t have much reference value for her...
Vieya shook her head, threw away the distracting thoughts, stuffed the packed-up monsters into the Golden City, and then returned to the Elven Royal Court with her daughter and maid.
Not long after they left, a squad of holy knights followed the scent and arrived.
The holy knights looked at the utterly wrecked ground, wandered around blindly for a couple of circles, and after confirming they had lost the target’s trail, could only return the way they came.
......
Elven Royal Court, Council Hall.
Aislin sat upright on the throne, draped in a gorgeous white robe embroidered with the patterns of the World Tree, a green gemstone crown resting atop her head. Though her face still carried a hint of youthful immaturity, the aura {N•o•v•e•l•i•g•h•t} around her was steady as a mountain, her expression calm and composed.
“Hehe, this generation’s Elven Queen is truly young and accomplished...” the old high priest said, seated in the guest chair, sighing with emotion. “Your Majesty should be the youngest queen in the history of the elven race, right?”
“Not really. Long ago, there was once an elf who ascended the throne right after completing her coming-of-age ceremony. That was a very distant era. We later generations refer to her as the Rose Queen...”
As she spoke, Aislin communicated with Daisy, who floated nearby, while casually chatting with the old high priest.
This human elder asked many strange and mysterious questions—ranging from the struggles and games between the ancient gods to the ten-thousand-year secret history of the elven race. Whenever Aislin couldn’t answer, she could only consult the elven granny Daisy hidden inside her ring.
And Daisy, a former former former Elven Queen, was able to provide fitting answers and counterquestions to all of them.
Back and forth like this, the old high priest was deeply shaken, and a sense of respect arose in his heart for the young queen before him. Unable to see or calculate the presence of Daisy’s remnant soul, he simply felt that he had underestimated the elven race, and underestimated this Elven Queen.
However, Aislin paid no attention at all to the human old man’s admiration. Her mind had long since drifted far away, where she was having a sweet date in her imagination with a certain slime girl.
In her fantasy, the little slime girl shyly accepted her confession, her face flushing red as she took the ring from Aislin. Aislin put her in a wedding dress, and under the witness of the Moon Goddess, they jointly forged the elven oath that symbolized eternal, unchanging affection between partners... It was so beautiful it practically bubbled.
No—wait!
Suddenly, Aislin jolted violently. Cold sweat seeped down her back. Sitting on the throne, her limbs went numb. Below her, the old high priest in the guest seat was exactly as he had been when he arrived, smiling amiably.
At the same time, Daisy’s voice rang in her ear. “Little Aislin, there’s a very faint magical fluctuation on this old man. He may have used some extremely secretive dark magic. Don’t let your guard down and fall into his trap.”
“......”
This insidious, cunning human. If I weren’t already at ninth rank, I might really have fallen for it.
Aislin steadied her turbulent emotions and lifted her gaze to look at the old high priest.
She recalled the expression and demeanor her mother used when facing ill-intentioned outsiders, and said meaningfully,
“Are you trying to make an enemy of our elven race? Human, put away your little tricks.”
