The room fell silent again.

Vieya lowered her head, glancing at her outfit. For a slime girl, not wearing clothes was far more convenient than wearing them—but unfortunately, she wasn’t the type who enjoyed streaking.

And right now, she had already successfully infiltrated the place...

Vieya stood up, tossing Sally’s earlier warnings out of her mind.

She first examined the room she was staying in from top to bottom, yet found nothing out of the ordinary. There were no hidden passages, no secret magic arrays—nothing.

It really did seem to be just an ordinary room. Then again, Sally herself hadn’t shown any strange traits either. A perfectly ordinary human child—maybe not completely powerless, but certainly someone who couldn’t even beat an average adult.

And after being drained of blood repeatedly over such a long time, her body was only getting weaker.

Otherwise, she wouldn’t have gone down every time Vieya pushed her without using much strength.

“If Sally keeps staying here like this, even with good food and drink, if she keeps getting her blood sucked every few days, she probably won’t live to see adulthood.”

Vieya sighed helplessly.

It seemed this mission wouldn’t just be about finding those two’s whereabouts and destroying this den of evil—she’d also have to keep these trapped blood bags from suffering further harm.

And judging from the hints in Sally’s words, the ones running this vile place were most likely a coven of vampires skilled in propagation.

Vampires weren’t new to her—but the ones she’d dealt with before had never been this bold, sneaking into human cities and trying to quietly convert the entire population.

Vieya also suspected that whoever was behind this might be connected to that vampire Demon King she had once defeated.

Otherwise, she couldn’t explain how her student and pet had vanished.

“When I fought that vampire last time, she never revealed her Authority...”

Vieya frowned in thought.

Her current body wasn’t what it used to be—no longer able to overwhelm everything with sheer power. But at least her vitality was now ridiculously strong; even if she were cut into a hundred pieces, she could still recover.

...Come to think of it, her slime body wasn’t all that different from a vampire’s.

After finishing her inspection, Vieya went to the door and tried to open it—only to find that it had been locked from the outside.

“......”

Who did that?

Sally?

Before she could think further, footsteps echoed from afar, growing closer and closer.

Someone was coming... likely that “manager” Sally had mentioned.

Vieya stepped back, sat on the bed, pulled the blanket around her, and huddled against the wall, watching the door warily.

“No... these footsteps don’t sound like just one person... Could there be more than one manager? Or has something else happened?”

Worry filled her chest. But then, instead of stopping at her door as Sally had said, the footsteps halted at the room next door.

That was Sally’s room!

Her heart clenched, and her expression darkened.

“Thank you for Your Majesty’s blessing... Laisa will devote all her life to you.”

The sound of the door next door opening.

Sally’s breathing—shallow, trembling with fear—could be heard even through the wall.

“This blood seedling’s body is close to its limit. Be careful when you play.” freēwēbηovel.c૦m

“Don’t worry, my Queen... Laisa will restrain her desires!”

“Please... I was just drained two days ago... my body hasn’t recovered yet...” Sally’s voice trembled weakly.

“To serve Lady Laisa is your honor. You don’t get to refuse... Hehe, Your Majesty, I’ll take her away for now and return her in perfect condition in a couple of days.”

Laisa giggled, ready to carry off her prey.

Bang!

A sudden noise from the next room caught her attention. The Vampire Queen’s calm voice asked softly, “Is the new one really that lively?”

“Laisa doesn’t know,” Laisa replied, her gaze flickering oddly. This was a first even for her.

But hearing that noise, Sally closed her eyes in despair. Of course—it was her own frightened cry that had startled the girl next door. If only she’d kept silent... Regret and hopelessness flooded her heart.

Next door—

Vieya struck the wooden door with her fist again, but misjudged her strength.

If she just charged in recklessly, she might get people killed.

Unless she could take the Demon King down in one blow—but even when she’d fought Jiele Xiyin, who wasn’t good at defense or direct combat, she hadn’t been able to kill her instantly. She had only destroyed her body.

And now she was facing a vampire Demon King—thick health bar, endless regeneration, resurrection tricks galore—there was no guarantee of victory.

Even with the Holy Sword in hand... in this slime body, the compatibility was too poor for a clean instant kill.

Bang!

Another sound.

The overly restless “prey” made Laisa’s expression darken. In her eyes, prey should be cowering in the corner by now.

Resistance was only fun when they squirmed under her fangs. Right now, it only made her irritated.

“This disobedient little thing... Laisa will personally teach her what ‘obedience’ means!”

Leaving trembling Sally behind, she strode toward the next room.

Through the thin door—

Vieya instinctively took a step back.

Creak!

The door slammed open.

A small girl with a gloomy face appeared before her.

“You little thing, looks like you’re begging for a lesson.” Laisa advanced step by step, the dark red glow in her eyes radiating hellish light. “You dare make a scene while Her Majesty is watching?”

“I—I didn’t kick it... I just hit it with my hand,” Vieya said timidly, retreating.

“Oh, so you do know fear...” Laisa sneered. “Your Majesty, once I’ve taught this new one her manners, I’ll bring her to you personally—”

“I don’t want her skin marred with bruises. That would spoil my mood—and my appetite.”

A cool, distant voice echoed through the corridor, instantly drawing Vieya’s gaze.

A golden high heel touched the floor lightly; a pair of fair, well-shaped legs glided forward, mesmerizingly beautiful.

Contrary to what such heels might suggest, the speaker was a young woman. Her face ~Nоvеl𝕚ght~ was as flawless as a sculpted Greek statue, black hair smooth and flowing, eyes the dark crimson unique to vampires.

Her appearance was that of a twenty-year-old, yet her gaze carried the weight of thirty. A black veil covered her cold, perfect face; a tight-waisted dress hugged her form beneath a fur-trimmed mantle.

Each click of her slender heels exuded grace, and despite her icy composure, an overpowering queenly aura radiated from her.

The Demon King—Elizabeth.

Vieya silently took note. Just as she was about to look away, she heard Laisa’s jealous snarl:

“You little wretch—what are you staring at? You think you’re worthy to look at Her Majesty?”

With that, she raised her hand and swung at her!

Facing someone roughly her own height, Laisa didn’t even bother using magic—just a simple physical strike.

Vieya tilted her head slightly, dodging the slap with ease, and calmly extended a single finger toward Laisa’s waist.

A faint white mist burst from the point of contact—

Bang!

A sharp pop resounded.

Before the astonished gazes of Elizabeth and Sally, Laisa was sent rolling across the floor. Her long, dark-violet hair scattered in disarray as she landed in a heap, grimacing in disbelief at the stabbing pain in her waist.

What... what just happened?

Wasn’t I the one who hit her?

Then why am I the one writhing on the floor in pain?
