Chapter 2412: Chapter 2411: Emotions

Feiyan was stunned at first, then smiled and said, "Sure, but we don’t have to sit here and keep watch. We can sit out in the yard, eat something while we wait."

"Oh?"

Ling Feng froze for a moment, turned to look at her. "You’ve started savoring food again now?"

"Yeah. Ever since I had your roasted meat, I suddenly started liking the taste of food again." Feiyan nodded.

"Alright then, we’ll just wait outside and take our time!"

Ling Feng nodded, then heard that the Blade of the Apocalypse was already getting impatient and had started attacking Kai Tian with words, trying to provoke him, so he hurriedly put it into the Space Bracelet, then sent Kai Tian into the Space Ring.

His mind went quiet in an instant, and he let out a breath of relief.

Thinking about using weapons in the future, Ling Feng told himself he’d try his best not to use the Blade of the Apocalypse; this guy was way too noisy.

Feiyan finished her preparations on her side. After sending the God Slayer Saber into the Pill Furnace, the two of them left the room.

Outside, by the flowering trees, the two of them sat down.

The little stone table wasn’t big. Feiyan took out a few kinds of fruit and set them on it, and it was almost full.

Then, to his surprise, she actually took out a bottle of rice wine.

Seeing this, Ling Feng asked in puzzlement, "You went to my shop to buy goods too?"

"Yes, Mu Mu delivered it to me later." Feiyan said.

Ling Feng let out an "oh," then asked, "Didn’t you say before that this kind of stuff can easily make people lose themselves?"

"Mm, but drinking it once in a while is fine." Feiyan said.

Hearing her say that, Ling Feng just smiled and didn’t say anything more.

The two of them could be considered fairly close friends by now, so he said to Feiyan, "This wine isn’t strong enough; it’s specially made for sale. I’ve got some craft brew here. If you want to drink, you should drink this."

With that, he took a bottle of wine out from the Space Bracelet.

Feiyan smiled, said nothing more, and put her own bottle away.

Then the two of them sat by the table, chatting about weapon forging while they ate and drank, patiently waiting.

Time just passed little by little like that.

No one knew how long it had been. The sky was now full of stars, and the bottle of wine had been finished by the two of them. Feiyan’s face had flushed a rosy red.

But she hadn’t drunk too much; her gaze wasn’t hazy—on the contrary, her eyes had become bright and glistening.

"Do you want to keep drinking?" Ling Feng asked.

"Sure!"

Feiyan nodded. "I’m not planning to sleep anyway. Since it’s already this late at night, let’s drink a bit more!"

"Alright."

Ling Feng smiled and took out another bottle of wine, then said, "If you start to feel uncomfortable, you can control the wine energy in your body and expel it."

"I know!"

Feiyan nodded, then said, "But I really like how I feel right now. I’ll worry about it when I start feeling bad."

After she finished speaking, she poured herself a cup and tilted her head back, taking a big gulp.

Ling Feng was a little puzzled, not sure why she had suddenly become like this.

Looking at her, it seemed a bit like she was using wine to drown her sorrows, so Ling Feng asked, "What’s wrong? Do you have something on your mind?"

"No."

Feiyan shook her head, fell silent for a moment, then said, "I have a question I want to ask you."

"Go ahead."

Ling Feng smiled.

"You’re not planning to stay long on Lingjian Mountain, are you?" Feiyan asked.

Ling Feng was taken aback. "How could that be?"

"I have this feeling that you’ll be leaving soon." Feiyan said quietly.

"I won’t. Even if I’m not here, it’ll only be a short leave of absence, that’s all." Ling Feng said.

"Really?"

Feiyan lifted her head, looking seriously into Ling Feng’s eyes. "Is there something here that you can’t bear to leave?"

Seeing her eyes shining, Ling Feng nodded. "Yes, there really is."

"Then..."

Feiyan’s face grew even redder, but she didn’t continue.

Ling Feng already understood her feelings, but he didn’t say more. He just smiled. "Don’t overthink it. I’m a Fourth Grade Disciple of Lingjian Mountain after all; I’ll have to serve this place in the future."

"But now the Chaos Sword holds not only this place, but other spaces as well. With your personality, you must really want to explore those two worlds, right?" Feiyan asked.

With her cool and aloof nature, she would never have asked this kind of question under normal circumstances.

Because it was too long-winded.

But under the influence of alcohol, the delicate thoughts of a woman were still revealed.

Ling Feng chuckled when he heard this, looked at her and said, "If I go somewhere else, I’ll definitely take you with me."

"Oh..."

Feiyan’s face suddenly turned scarlet and she immediately lowered her head.

There was no need to say anything more; that one sentence was enough.

They were both smart people; a single phrase was enough to make things clear.

After sitting for a while, Feiyan suddenly stood up. "I—I’m going to the back for a bit."

"Alright."

Ling Feng nodded. He didn’t know what she was going to do, but he didn’t ask.

Feiyan rose and left in a hurry; her steps were a bit unsteady, but not to the point of staggering.

Picking up his cup, Ling Feng took a sip by himself, and a faint sense of melancholy suddenly rose in his heart.

He didn’t know what it was for; he just suddenly felt a little irritated.

After quite a while, a shadow flashed by the corner of the wall. Feiyan came back, having changed into a different dress.

She had redone her hair, and her complexion had improved a lot. Ling Feng could tell at a glance that she had expelled all the wine energy from her body.

So after she sat down, Ling Feng smiled and said, "It’s getting late. Looks like my God Slayer Saber is going to take some time to finish forging. Why don’t I head back first?"

"It’s already so late; why don’t you just stay here for the night?" Feiyan said.

Seeing her staring straight at him, Ling Feng was stunned for a moment. After hesitating again and again, he still said, "I’d better not. We don’t know how long the God Slayer Saber will take to be finished. What if it’s not done by tomorrow morning?"

"That’s true."

Feiyan nodded. There was no unusual emotion in her eyes as she went on, "In that case, once it’s done, I’ll bring it over to you."

"Mm, then I’ll have to trouble you."

After Ling Feng finished speaking, he stood up.

Their eyes met; Feiyan still didn’t say anything.

Turning and leaving the courtyard, Ling Feng walked to the gate, turned back to wave at Feiyan, then stepped out the door.

The sense of loss in his heart was still there. Ling Feng wasn’t sure whether it was because of Feiyan, or because some strange emotion had suddenly surfaced in himself.

He stood there in a daze for a moment, then still leaped up, rising into midair.

Then, under the night sky, he left that city and flew toward his own residence.

By now it was at least already the early hours of the morning, so there weren’t many places on Lingjian Mountain where lights could be seen.

As Ling Feng was flying, a sudden sense of alertness rose in his heart!

Just as his body paused, a bolt of lightning brushed past him, right along his body, and shot straight toward the ground!

Ling Feng snapped his head up and saw two black figures charging toward him!
