Chapter 26: Round 2
Valoria was tense as hell, the citizens of the country trying to dethrone the government level of hell.
What the officials feared the most was the exact same thing that happened, only that this time it was even worse. From one person being prey for the Knight of Frames to six people getting killed by unknown individuals that claimed they were the rightful owners of Valoria. It even brought up political tension that wasn’t meant to exist at all.
But amidst it all, Leo wasn’t disturbed like the rest. His mind was already dominated by one fact: how the people had disintegrated. It wasn’t something a normal person would be worried about, but the effects were so devilishly similar that he couldn’t just drop it. Like songs from one artist, all different but still carrying that special touch that reveals its creator in daylight.
He was so deep in thought that the murmuring of the crowd in the bar never made him flinch at all.
Now all eyes were on the top officials of Valoria, the same ones that had expelled Leo as a Breaker, sending him off without giving him a single cent to carry along the way.
Footsteps echoed all over the corridors of the main headquarters as people rushed around doing various things. Some answered phone calls from influential people who used to be powerful politicians back on Earth, while others began preparing for a war that was coming on the horizon.
Luckily, a squad had already been made to respond to situations like this, and at that very moment they had already met in the deepest part of the building.
On a round meeting table sat more than twenty people, each with the strongest powers and greatest intelligence to ever exist in Valoria. Some of them were the Top Ten Ranked SS Breakers, along with Katelyn, who earlier met Leo and Jennifer at the headquarters, being one of them.
Surprisingly , they already had a name for the beings, Meta-humans.
"What should we do now? If those meta-humans manage to come to the surface, they will wreak havoc."
One of the soldiers spoke.
"And we wouldn’t be able to go all out on the enemies since we will be trying to reduce the damage caused on the buildings."
The #6 SS Breaker added. He looked like an average person, if only for the weird narrow glasses that he wore, which made him look like he was hiding something.
"That means our best tactic is to attack them in the floors before they come out."
Katelyn added, looking as concerned as ever. Even though she still wore the small shirt that made her breasts spill out to the sides.
"The Founder wants to make sure there are the smallest amount of casualties possible. That’s why we will go in turns until we destroy the enemy."
The General from Leo’s first time in Valoria commented. The meeting looked like, some kind of reunion of people that had been in Leo’s life so far. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
By then everyone had agreed on one single thing. They needed to go against them with full force so that they could show them the wrath of humans. A pretty good plan that seemed to have other ulterior motives of shutting the beings up so that they couldn’t spill out classified info . That point was clear to each one of them.
Even though some of them were still in one of the highest positions of power in Valoria, they still didn’t know a lot about how it all began. Very much information was hidden behind the Founder, but reaching him or even talking to him was another issue on its own.
"What about the live stream? Should we keep it rolling?"
The #4 SS Breaker, a man that seemed to have a pretty decent presence to himself, spoke. He had polished hair like he had been combing it all night.
"The cat’s already out of the bag. We have to show people the end if we even want to have a chance of keeping them calm again."
"And it’s one more reason that the team that attacks them should be strong enough to defeat them in one strike."
The General finished as he crossed his fingers like some kind of final boss.
One of the people there pulled out a tablet, the light reflecting on her eyeballs as she stood up, preparing to read the names of the people that were going to attack the beings. But as she was about to start, another familiar voice interrupted them.
"Why are you all worrying?"
A man wearing a mask, the same man that was at the trial against Leo who somehow had the ability to blow up everyone who lied in his view, chipped in.
He also had his feet on the table like the meeting wasn’t executive at all.
"I will take care of it personally. Lord Gara doesn’t scare me in the least."
He muttered like he hadn’t seen what the owner of that name had done to the newbies, killing them in a slick way that made death feel easier for the victims.
Every eye turned to him in anticipation. Even Katelyn looked at him in surprise.
"What are you talking about, Viper?"
The General inquired.
"Just give me a team that will be able to hold those other two, and I will handle Lord Gara myself."
"Why do you suppose you can handle him by yourself?"
"There is no one who can’t lie, General. Even you lie sometimes. I just have to ask him a question, and when he lies, boom, his head will explode. End of story."
Viper spoke with confidence in his voice. Not even in the least did his determination waver.
"Huh, so what are you going to ask an enemy you’ve never met before?"
Katelyn chipped in, revealing a hole in Viper’s seemingly good plan.
"Simple."
He paused a little. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom
"I will ask him what his weakness is. No one can say the truth when it comes to that."
The whole room was shocked in an instant. The idea was perfect. No one in their right mind could answer that question correctly. Either they could tell you a false weakness so that you waste your time trying to attack them in ways they are strong against, or say they don’t have any weakness so that their enemy fears them, which would also end with their head blowing up.
And even if it got to a point where he didn’t answer, Viper would only need to keep pushing his buttons until he spilled a lie.
All in all, Viper was a game changer that brought the odds in their favor, so without any hesitation the squad was formed:
Katelyn — #7 SS Breaker
Joseph — #4 SS Breaker
Killion — #6 SS Breaker
Viper — The Dark Room Official
All of them wore their suits proudly, with cameras connected to their clothes to record what was happening.
And in that moment all murmurs stopped as they laid witness to the new squad of four that had been formed to protect Valoria , jumping into the floors head-on.
