Chapter 1: The Meeting with the angry woman
Leo’s naked body swimmed in endless darkness, the tide pushing him to wherever he was unfortunate enough to go to. His eyes stayed closed as his heartbeat steadily decreased with every passing second.
’Am I still alive?’
He pondered weakly in his consciousness.
Just hours ago, he had experienced something he never thought he would ever see in his life. The earth as we know it had ended in a mere hour. Thousands and thousands of human history erased from the face of the Earth in flames like it was nothing.
At first it started slow, earthquakes here and there until finally the ground started to crack, swallowing everything along with humans that were on top of it.
But for some people, it wasn’t the end of of life. About twenty years ago a billionaire had somehow managed to teleport humans into another world called Valoria, but only rich people managed to buy that ticket. And for an orphan with cancer like Leo it was nearly impossible to access that amount of money so death was his only result.
So when his broken rat-infested apartment started to fall into the abyss, he just closed his eyes accepting the death that fate was so wonderful to give him. That is what he thought would happen if it wasn’t that somehow, he was still alive.
Suddenly within the darkness his late mother’s voice started to call in his consciousness, shaking it deep in its foundation every time it came.
’Wake up Leo, wake up honey.’
It called repeatedly without any sign that it was going to stop soon. But no matter how it insisted, leo kept his eyes closed shut like the window in the winter season.
’Good things don’t happen when I open my eyes’
But unfortunately for him the voice never stopped, so he caved in and tried to open his eyes. His eyelids felt heavier than ever, as if they carried a full week of sleep he never had.
Slowly, the quality of his vision sharpened. On the roof was a white ceiling with golden braids embedded in its design.
’Where am I?’
He thought as he found himself laid down on the tiled floor like a corpse.
Somehow, he was in a large Greek-like room, it had a lot of golden pillars and statues scattered all over it. Lights shined at every corner of the room, some of it reflecting on his bald head.
Curious, he pushed himself up, his feet against the cold tile as his bones clicked all the way through the process.
He lowered his eyes, looking at his weak body, checking for any injuries or signs that a whole house had fallen on him but found completely nothing.
"Leo Hanamay."
A calm female voice came from the far side of the room. His eyes flinched to the voice, and to his surprise he saw something he had only dreamed of seeing.
A woman with large breasts sat on a large throne, both her eyes and hair were completely white like sheep’s wool. She had a boss aura coming off her body like steam.
"The offspring of two accountants, your parents died in an accident 7 years ago. Ever since that event, your health declined considerably. Nobody helped you, not even the foster care homes could take you in because they were afraid you will die in their hands !."
"How do, how do you know that much?"
He hesitated a little. It was a traumatizing time for him, the only thing that managed to give even a speck of hope were the public webnovels and manga he used to read in the hospital.
"I know everything Leo, I’m a goddess. Just like I know that Earth’s billionaire had managed to send millions of people into another world ."
She pulled her hand onto her cheek with a smile like she was flirting with Leo. But even with the cheerful front, that wasn’t enough to hide the anger her voice carried.
So Leo didn’t say anything. Because he knew that if she was indeed the one pulling the tricks in this world it wasn’t wise to anger her in any way.
"The laws of the universe clearly say humans aren’t allowed to travel through dimensions or even transmigrate without the gods’ acceptance. And because he has clearly broken the rules, I need to punish your kind."
Leo’s eyes widened with fear.
"There are so many ways I can punish your kind, I can just flick my wrist and everyone would die instantly. But as you can probably tell, I’m bored and alone. So I thought of another idea."
She raised her hand and pointed at Leo, her seductive eyes looking at him like he was food her soul had longed for years. ƒгeewebnovёl.com
"That’s where you come in."
Leo’s heart skipped a beat, wrinkles coiling on his face as he looked fumbled by what he had just heard.
"Me? What does that have to do with me?"
"I want you to punish these people for me, make them suffer and in return I will give you incredible power and your life back."
"So I really died huh. Didn’t feel like I expected it to feel."
He whispered a little as he begun weighing the options that she had given him. But no matter how much he looked at it, even though he hated life, it really seemed like a good deal.
His tongue rose as he prepared to accept the offer, the goddess caught on to it too as her smile widened even more with pride.
Just as he was about to open his mouth, another thought crawled its way up into his mind.
’Do I really want to live like this?’
The question echoed in his heart repeatedly, shaking the whole foundation of the reply he was about to give.
The goddess had only made him see one side of the situation.
What about Leo’s feelings when he is making the people suffer . What would his late parents think if they saw him acting like a devil. Even though they died he still carried their teachings.
"My parents wanted me to live."
Leo started as he raised his head up high, eyes crossing with the goddess.
"And if living means doing something that is against who I am and what they wanted for me, then I have to respectfully decline your offer."
He muttered it so calmly that it didn’t feel like a rejection at all.
A wave of silence flooded the air, then out of knowhere.
The goddess started laughing, her chuckles filling the entire room. She did it for several seconds that even tears started to form in her eyes.
After she finally cooled down she pulled her arm back to her chin, like an employer trying to hear an employee’s pitch.
"After everything, your saying you wouldn’t make them suffer, you truly are a funny human."
She sounded impressed but truthfully she was infuriated with him, and Leo felt it in the heaviness of the tension in the room.
He swallowed once, his heart thumping so loud like he had run a mile.
"Alright, we will see about your so-called determination."
In one swift motion, she raised her right hand and flicked the back of it like she was pushing him back.
Immediately an invisible force covered Leo’s body, pulled him up from his feet then made him disappear in an instant.
