Chapter 1073: Chapter 754: The Situation
"Participate in the Blood War?"
The Iron Can was somewhat puzzled.
Even though Kana was already a newly ascended God, he couldn’t help but ask, "But your world is now facing an apocalyptic crisis, and you just..."
He didn’t articulate it, but the implication was clear.
Kana had just been saying he wasn’t planning to leave, intending to stand with the world until the end, and now he wanted to participate in the Blood War for revenge. Is this reasonable?
If one intends to persevere to the end, the most urgent task is to find ways to reinforce the world, construct various defense fortresses, stack layers upon layers, and find means to preserve the last piece of land, to retain the last vestiges of bloodline. This is what should be done.
In this way, perhaps there might be a sliver of hope in the end.
The "Scholar" is meant for observing, and what they observe the most are worlds invaded by the Void.
Among the worlds invaded by the Void, the majority are utterly destroyed, and only a few are barely surviving. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com
Yet, it’s hard to regard such a situation as a successful resistance, because such a sliver of hope rarely allows a world to recover its original appearance.
Successfully resisting a Void invasion means that at least many lives survive, and a pure land is defended diligently until the Void fully retreats from the world. This is the lowest standard of victory.
But even then, such cases are rare and few.
"Participating in the Blood War is also one of my methods to save the world."
Upon hearing this, the Iron Can fell silent. After all, he wasn’t a mystery, so how could he know what help participating in the Blood War could provide for saving the world? Besides, worlds differ, and so do many things.
As for the one judged, she didn’t care about these things. As long as Kana wished to participate in the Blood War, she wholeheartedly supported it.
As for what the objective of participating in the Blood War was, or what one truly wanted to achieve, it wasn’t her concern.
Everyone participating in the Blood War had their own thoughts and objectives, but most people’s main purpose was indeed revenge.
It’s a simple truth: the detestable aspect of the Abyss is that it can use the method of Descent to bring its Power to other worlds.
In such times, even if arduous efforts are made to slay the Demons that Descend, they themselves don’t die. Because what Descends is merely their Power and a small fraction of their souls, sometimes not even their souls descend.
No matter how many times you kill them, they will not truly die, only losing Power.
Furthermore, sometimes the medium of Descent itself provides Power, which is extremely disgusting.
So how can they truly be killed? By charging into the Abyss to deliver a fatal blow. If they die, they truly die. This is the purpose for many who participate in the Blood War—to wipe out those damned Demons.
Of course, if it were solely for revenge, the Blood War could not have become a prolonged, ongoing war.
How long the Blood War has lasted is no longer traceable, only known that it began when the Abyss was in its early developmental stage, and continues even now, with the war’s reach expanding.
This has turned the area where the Blood War takes place into a new special zone, with its unique essential Rules, and it has been recognized by the Star Realm and included in the basic Rules.
Besides revenge, there are specific gains to be had.
The most obvious and common situation is the capture of Demons. Demons require no mercy as they are pure Chaos Creatures.
People can capture Demons for various experiments, disassemble their limbs for various materials, transform them and establish soul contracts. These are the uses for Demons.
The special chaotic construction of Demons grants them all sorts of special abilities, which are quite useful for some people.
There are even specially tasked Demon-catching teams. Their task is to help buyers from other worlds capture specific Demons, bind them under contract, and then transport organizations specifically send them away. This has formed a very mature industrial chain.
This spans the inter-world Commerce Association.
After all, among Demons, there are lustful Demons, enchanting Demons, depraved Demons, and similar others.
The Abyss has destroyed so many worlds, turning so many worlds into a layer of itself, spawning creatures that fit the aesthetic of many Races, also to cooperate with some of the special invasion methods of the Abyss.
Aside from this, there are the various byproducts to be gleaned from the war—special materials and minerals within the Abyss.
The exceedingly chaotic environment combined with interspersed Magic Power causes minerals and materials unable to form under normal conditions to emerge, treasures of the highest caliber.
Many of the Weapons in Demon hands are crafted from these materials. Seizing these Weapons and remelting them yields new Magic Equipment.
Simply put, slaying Demons both satiates one’s hatred and revenge, as well as provides ample profit.
The premise, of course, is that you are sufficiently powerful and resolutely determined.
Within the Blood War, there are numerous instances of those who, due to deep involvement, have gradually been subtlely influenced and eventually fallen to become Demons themselves.
But these are concerns for those not of Divine Level; those of Divine Level within the Blood War needn’t worry about Abyssal influence, for the Abyss’s Power isn’t enough to affect the Divine.
Gods who fall into the Abyss usually do so by forced choices due to environmental pressure, often with voluntary elements.
After these discussions, the one judged handed a special crystal key to Kana.
"Use this key to open a Teleportation Gate, directly connecting to our fortress camp within the Blood War. Otherwise, opening a gate randomly might easily lead you into those damned Demons’ traps."
Upon hearing this, Kana nodded, as this aspect he could comprehend. The Blood War was one of the main gameplay modes in the game’s later stages, akin to a special endless rougelike mode.
Putting away the key, Kana looked at the other three.
"If you wish to descend, I will send people to contact you, should we connect your teleportation frequency? I will provide an interface for teleportation frequency here."
The Pure Gold One nodded, "That would be excellent, thank you for your generosity."
The Mist of Judgment gave a nod and then departed, and Kana didn’t linger there longer either.
From the Teleportation Gate, he returned to Ring Tower City, instructed various preparations to be made, including interactions with other Star Realm World personnel and various study preparations.
The "Scholar", just having this designation suffices to show the immense knowledge possessed by the ship’s Members, which greatly accelerates the Night Watcher’s Power improvement, including Alchemy Technology advancements.
