Chapter 27: Chapter 27: The Tail

Shen Yuan thought over the two options given to him.

He never expected his money problem to be solved so easily. But for that he was risking being exposed as the one who killed Zhu Wei if someone knew what he had.

’I can use this money to buy another Yellow grade technique and some herbs and spirit stones... it will be useless to me and will only bring troubles.’

"I will take the coins." Shen Yuan did not realise it at that time but his decision had saved his life.

The outer disciples who had been eying his fortune were now looking away while clicking their tongues.

"Here you go." After carefully storing the Spirit grass away, the saleswoman took out a tray full of Girds which once more caught the attention of nearby people.

This time it was a group of senior servants who were either wearing their own robes or the ones given to them by the sect.

Their uniform was generally the same as the servants, white robes but they had a purple belt and some black outlines on their robes making it look grand and worthy of their status.

"Shall we follow him after he leaves here? We can share the money equally." One of the men looked at the other two beside him with a greedy look in his eyes.

"You have to ask something so obvious?"

"Hey, leave the boy to me; you can have the money. His body is all I need." The bald servant smirked while staring at Shen Yuan’s face. His eyes gleamed with unsettling lust while he licked his dry lips.

...

"I will take the Lingzhi Mushroom and the manual. Take it from this pile." Shen Yuan pointed at the herb and then watched as the Girds were deducted from his pile.

All this time he was clear about the intentions of the people around him. He might not have known the real values of the things he was buying in the eyes of these people, but he could guess from the changes in the gazes he was feeling.

"There you go." After packing everything, the clerk passed a paper bag with the items and the money to Shen Yuan.

Taking it all, Shen Yuan placed everything else he had on him inside the same bag and carried it back to the counter where the battle techniques were being sold.

"Miss Men, It seems I have the sufficient funds now. Can I see those techniques now?"

"Of course." The smile on the face of the saleswoman Men Xiafan was wider than I had ever seen.

She crouched down behind the counter all the way to the bottom and pulled out a chest that opened wide in both directions, revealing three yellow-covered manuals.

The titles on the covers read:

Tiger Roar Fist (Yellow Mid-Grade Technique)

Silent Reaper’s Step (Yellow Low-Grade Technique)

Heavy Axe Slash (Yellow high Grade Technique)

Then she proceeded to describe their effects very briefly, but it was enough for Shen Yuan to make a decision.

"I will take these two." After the purchase of the techniques, Shen Yuan was left with a little over 200 Girds.

Without wasting any time, he slipped out of the pavilion but not without catching a tail.

Shen Yuan knew someone was following him, but he did not act on it. He just walked as he usually did.

Since it was still the middle of the day, the market was bustling with crowds, and every street was packed.

Shen Yuan looked around and walked into the street with the most people he could find.

But the people following him did not care about keeping their distance and closed in on Shen Yuan, not to lose him.

’Still so persistent, huh?’ His eyes darted around the masses and landed on a curvy woman with a lot of makeup.

Fortunately for him, she was walking right into his path with someone. ƒгeewebnovёl.com

Shen Yuan felt the presence of the persuaders only a few steps away from him and increased his pace at the right moment.

Just as he and the people following him walked right past the woman, his hand shot to the side and he gave the woman’s plump bottom a tight slap.

The slap sent ripples through her arse, stunning everyone, including the woman. Even with the bustling of the street, many heard the crisp sound.

And one of them was the burly, imposing man walking beside the woman.

"Ah~ How dare you?!" The woman blushed fiercely before turning around to look at the young man standing behind her.

It was one of the bald men chasing after Shen Yuan. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm

"You are dead." The burly man beside the woman who was her lover understood what had happened and cracked his fist before dragging the bald man into a deserted alley despite his struggles and denials.

’Only two left.’ Shen Yuan smirked as he took another turn. He was not walking in a straight line but taking a longer route to lose the people tailing him.

"What do we do, boss? Baldy was captured by some random outer disciple who was out on a stroll with his woman."

"He is dead; forget him. Focus on the target. Don’t let the slippery bastard get away. Use your qi to track him."

The two stalkers whispered among each other while pushing the crowd around them. They could faintly see the back of Shen Yuan’s white and black robes.

"Got it." The man tried to focus while walking before letting out a confused breath. "Eh...? I don’t sense a qi trace from him. He is likely using some concealment technique. I cannot track him like this."

"Then we better hurry up." With dark looks on their faces, the two Senior servants picked up their speed and arrived at a crossway where most of the crowd had dispersed, and so did Shen Yuan.

"Where is that bastard?! Don’t let him get away! look in every crook and cranny."

While the two were looking for him like madmen, Shen Yuan was calmly leaning against the wall of an alley, watching them flail around like monkeys on aphrodisiac.

"Good luck, boys." With a dark chuckle, he disappeared into the dark shadows.
