The first floor of the pavilion was filled with sea of people. Even with the strictness on the entry, the place had such a crowd.
He noticed the presence of many young men and women who were wearing grey robes with red outer robes and golden belt.
Seeing them he realised why this place had such strict restrictions. They were all outer disciples of the sect who were above the level of Senior servants.
Shen Yuan made sure to stay away from them while walking around the first floor but he found no techniques there.
The first floor had many things, herbs, pills, weapons, yellow sheet of paper called talisman and there were also books.
But not the kind he wanted.
There were novels, romance novels or adult ones. He had seen a similar novel in the hands of the Overseer of their district. Then there were culinary books, gardening, herbology.
Shen Yuan liked a particular book called, Introduction To The Immortal Realm. It was a book detailing the common knowledge of the world.

"I should pay her a visit after this." Shen Yuan thought to himself as he climbed the stairs to the upper floor.
The second floor had a similar setup. Different section on each side of the pavilion. The tables were meticulously arranged to reduce the crowding.
’There are fewer people here.’ The moment he stepped on the floor, Shen Yuan felt like he could finally breath. If there were hundreds of people on the first floor then it was less than half the number here.
It did not take him long to realise why that was so.
"Are there any cultivation techniques available?" The books arranged on the table before him arranged on the table seemed weird based on their name.

Hearing his question, the store clerk behind the table looked at him with a strange look on her face. But once she saw his appearance and clean clothing, she asked, "is this your first time here?"
"Is it that obvious?" Shen Yuan forced a small dry laugh leaning towards the woman. His embarrassed smile made drew a small smirk from the clerk.
She looked around and upon seeing her colleagues busy with costumers, she explained briefly to him.
"The first floor has all the items mortals would need in their day to day life. Most of the items are sold to the servants who can afford them. The second floor has the items of the martial arts from the mortal world. This is fighting techniques used by some senior servants such as yourself."
Shen Yuan was surprised she would mistake him for a senior servant but he did not correct her. ’It explains why she is being so easy going with me.’
"You will only find cultivation techniques in the sect’s library which can only accessed by outer disciples or disciples with higher status. There are some on the third floor but you can only access it with the identity token of a disciple."
Shen Yuan glanced at the stairs leading to the third floor and saw two more guards standing guard with a mean look on their face.

He turned to the blonde clerk and asked, "Are there any yellow rank techniques here?"
"Only a few. But they are very costly. The cheapest among them costs at least ten low grade spirit stones."
’Spirit stones? Something I don’t know or have.’ Shen Yuan nodded even though he knew nothing about them. "I only planned to spend some Girds today."
The woman seemed to understand as she nodded in understanding. "I can understand that. It’s not easy to get some spirit stones. If I could get one I would use it on cultivation rather than buying something."
She leaned on the counter tracing her finger on the edge of the wooden table.
"So would you like to buy any techniques here. They are on discount, just for 300 Girds."
Shen Yuan almost ran out of the floor hearing the price of the manuals. ’Was I too hasty on buying the weapons and other things?’
But thinking about it, he needed weapons to defend himself. Not to mention the axe he needed to fulfil his daily quota.
Shen Yuan put on a thoughtful look on his face before shaking his head, "I already have techniques like these. If I learn anymore it will only waste my time. I have to aim for Yellow grade techniques. It will be a wise investment in the future."
The smile on the woman’s face dropped a degree as she stood up straight. "Then I will see you when you are ready to buy them."
It was her polite way of saying to fuck off. She thought Shen Yuan would buy a technique which would give her a cut of the earnings but knowing that was not the case, her kindness disappeared.
Shen Yuan did not react to the sudden change in her attitude. Instead he continued to ask, "Are there any books that describes the effects of various medicines or herbs."
Now that he was here, Shen Yuan decided ot buy everything of worth he could find. Since he already had the memories of a physician, he decided to learn more into the subject.
’Hmm...’ Instead of answering instantly, the clerk started thinking, ’Its a good chance. Even though I could not make a sale here. I can make that bitch alchemy side owe me a favour or take a part of her cut.’
Suppressing a grin from forming on her fac she said, "You should go to that side of the pavilion and ask for Ba Chow and tell her Men Xiafan sent you. She will give you what you need."
