Chapter 2658: Chapter 2658: I Was Just Joking, You’re Really Taking It Seriously?

Lilianna looked up, only to find that Carson Flores, who had been hovering in mid-air, was already gone.

Lilianna’s expression was complex; she knew very well that Carson had given them sisters some time alone to say what was in their hearts.

If he were standing nearby, how could some words be said aloud?

Lilianna sighed lightly in her heart. This annoying rogue, although constantly teasing and playing pranks on her, was indeed very hateful. But she had to admit, he was the one who saved her senior sister’s life.

"Senior sister, have you really decided to go with him?"

Snow Zane nodded: "I have always been clear on gratitude and grudges. He saved my life, and I currently have no means to repay him. I might as well owe him a little more; if I can regain my strength, I will surely repay him with a life until there is no debt left owed."

Lilianna nodded gently, then began to take out items.

She took out the healing holy medicine from Ice Snow City, some possibly useful Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures, and finally, after some thought, pulled out three Snow Spirit Ice Crystals.

She remembered that Carson had once asked for this item. Since he wanted it, she’d just give him more.

As long as she could heal her senior sister, not to mention some Snow Spirit Ice Crystals, or anything else he wanted—she was even willing to be a maid for Carson if need be!

"Senior sister, take these things; they might be of use. These Snow Spirit Ice Crystals are for... that guy."

Snow Zane didn’t refuse; this was Lilianna’s gesture.

Although Carson had tested Lilianna without her consent, the result of that test made Snow Zane unexpectedly happy.

Aside from their master, Lilianna was her only family.

From a young age, Lilianna liked to challenge Snow Zane, eager to step over her. But her current choice proved her true feelings.

She just wanted to win, yet in her heart, still regarded Snow Zane as her senior sister and family.

"Alright, seeing that you’re okay, I’m relieved. Quickly get back, lest you raise suspicion. As long as we’re alive, we’ll definitely meet again."

Lilianna didn’t act overly sentimental and offered a few more reminders, then flew off.

She scanned the area and spotted Carson standing on a distant peak. Pressing her lips together, she flew towards him.

Lilianna landed in front of Carson and scrutinized him with a complicated gaze.

Carson had removed his mask, revealing his true face, smiling as he looked at Lilianna.

"Lord Moses, done talking?"

Lilianna nodded, remaining silent for a few seconds, finally suppressing the emotions in her heart: "Please take good care of my senior sister, I’m begging you."

Carson smiled slightly, eyes filled with mirth: "For someone like Lord Moses to make such a serious request, that’s not easy."

Lilianna gritted her teeth. How could this rogue be so annoying when he spoke!

Lilianna huffed coldly: "Considering you’ve saved my senior sister, I won’t pursue the matter of you toying with me..."

Carson laughed: "Lord Moses, you sound as if you’ve suffered a huge loss. This isn’t right; I’m only helping you."

Lilianna raised an eyebrow: "Helping me with what?"

Carson grinned: "Helping you see your true inner self, helping you relieve future inner torment. That’s a significant favor because it’s easy for people to face others, but difficult to face their own hearts, isn’t that right?"

Though Lilianna was seething with anger at Carson, she had to admit that what he said made sense. After today’s events, she wouldn’t carry such a heavy guilt in her heart or endure such inner torture.

Carson saw Lilianna’s expression and knew she agreed with him, then said jokingly: "I was right, wasn’t I? Your senior sister’s matters are between her and me. I’ve helped you, so aren’t you going to show some appreciation?"

Lilianna felt a surge of inexplicable anger; she didn’t know why she got so easily irritated facing Carson!

What happened to her composure?

Her calm demeanor?

Lilianna said angrily: "What do you want? Should I be your maid? Do you want that?"

Carson widened his eyes in surprise: "No way, I’m just joking. Lord Moses, are you seriously playing along?"

Lilianna’s face suddenly blushed a few shades redder, and she retorted, "Ugh! Wishful thinking on your part, can’t you tell sarcasm?"

Carson laughed heartily: "Actually, that wouldn’t be bad. You’re at Peak Superior Grade Great Land Immortal. Being my maid, you could protect me and your senior sister. It’d be a win-win situation. Why not consider it?"

Lilianna paused for a moment, showing a hint of hesitation and contemplation on her face.

Carson widened his eyes. Oh boy, he was just joking to tease her, yet she seemed to seriously consider the idea.

Would she really be willing to be his maid?

Lilianna snapped back to reality upon seeing Carson’s expression and spat: "Wishful thinking! However, if you want a guard, it’s not out of the question. I can select two from my guards for you. They are also Prime Immortals of the Great Land..."

Carson’s eyes lit up, but after a moment of hesitation, he still refused: "Forget it, I’m used to being alone. More people would only cause trouble. Besides, if we really encounter people from the Myriad Immortals Palace, who knows if they’d fight for me or turn against me?"
