Chapter 323: Chapter 321: Taken to Become a Star Fury
"Here they come."
While Hilia was caught up in a mind full of chaotic thoughts, Rose’s voice chimed in.
She quickly refocused and looked ahead.
Mier was still immersed in the fantasy of Hilia’s smile and gratitude after he bought gifts for her, when suddenly he felt the temperature around him rise.
Unable to help himself, he looked up to find the source of the heat.
Soon, his gaze settled on a mature woman standing ahead.
Her pallid complexion made this heat source seem oddly eerie.
It was like having a fever, where the body feels warm, yet gives off an uncomfortable chill.
The woman was looking at him too.
She was walking towards him.
Mier was completely frozen, or rather, unable to move, standing there staring as she slowly approached him, peering at him intently.
Mier opened his mouth and hesitantly asked, "Hello, is there something you need?"
He originally wanted to address her with "Auntie," but upon seeing her ghastly pale and sinister face, he refrained.
"What’s your name?" Suna’s voice reached his ears.
"I’m Mier, Mier Deville. Do you... need something from me?"
"Mier Deville..." Suna chewed on the name, muttering to herself, "That’s the name, no mistake. Lost my memory, but still remember this name, indicating this is someone... important to me? Part of the organization... doesn’t seem like it."
Suna’s inexplicable words filled Mier with a sense of impending disaster.
He definitely disliked the too-white woman with the long face in front of him.
She wasn’t nearly as charming as Hilia!
Mier quietly stepped back, but before he could do anything else, the woman in front of him seized him tightly.
"You come with me and tell me about whatever happened between us. I forgot what transpired, only remember you’re important. You can’t leave."
Mier denied fiercely, "I don’t know you. I’m not a local—I came here from Huijin City just to watch the competition. I’m not going with you."
He tried to shake off Suna’s grasp.
Yet, Suna’s grip was exceptionally strong, firmly holding Mier in place, preventing him from leaving.
"No, you must come with me."
With that, she forcefully dragged Mier away.
Behind them, Hilia watched as Mier struggled futilely against the strong-willed Suna, blinking in surprise.
"The impact of amnesia is intense—it even seems to have altered her personality."
Before she lost her memory, although Suna’s complexion was sinister, her words were captivating, often playing others like pawns.
Now, she’s become decisive and straightforward, without any dilly-dallying, pulling Mier along right away.
Hilia waited a moment before following them, slowly trailing behind, witnessing Suna pulling Mier into her house.
"Losing her memory yet still managing to find her own home—impressive!" Hilia marveled, suddenly remembering something. "Wait, when she and Vera were fighting, Kost’s men should’ve shown up, right? Why is she still living here undisturbed?"
Rose smiled slightly, explaining, "Because Kost’s people arrived but didn’t dare act, waiting for the High-tier Mage to arrive. By the time the High-tier Mage meandered over, she had already woken and fled."
Hilia: "Did she wake that quickly?"
"Not quickly—she was unconscious for two hours before waking."
"Huh?"
Hilia was shocked.
Kost’s Sheriff, is he that abstract?
Could it be that he thinks fighting outside won’t impact the central area, so he doesn’t intervene?
After the fight’s over, he sends people to clean up the scene?
Hilia thought she might have uncovered the truth.
It seemed the Sheriff of Kost didn’t want to handle this level of mage battle, only reluctantly coming after it ended, finding people lying around and dared not do anything further, simply reporting to higher-ups for them to decide.
Then the mage upstairs didn’t want to get involved either, dragging their feet until everyone was gone—perhaps deliberately done this way.
If that’s the case...
They were far too lax.
From top to bottom, everyone’s incompetent.
How did they become independent back then?
Hilia couldn’t understand.
Good thing it isn’t Ista, otherwise she’d have gone over to the Sheriff Headquarters and complained.
If complaining didn’t work, she’d find the criminal evidence to bring everyone down!
Luckily this wasn’t the domain controlled by the Holy Court.
Hilia was baffled but respected it.
Returning to Suna’s side, Hilia stealthily approached, lingering beside Suna’s house, pretending to rest for a moment, her ears perked, listening to the activity inside.
Mier’s voice faintly came through: "Sister, I truly don’t know you. You must’ve got the wrong person—although I’m called Mier Deville, there might be someone with the same name."
"Impossible. The image I have of you matches perfectly—name and appearance. You’re hiding something from me."
"There’s really none. I’m begging you, let me go back; I still need to buy a birthday gift for Hilia."
Suna’s voice immediately turned icy and sharp, "Who is Hilia?"
"She’s my classmate. She’s much prettier than you. Your trick to seduce me won’t work, I won’t fall for a woman in her thirties."
Upon hearing this, Hilia raised her brow, "Mier’s friend is bold, impressive."
Sure enough, as Mier’s words were spoken, the temperature in the room dropped several degrees, even outside where Hilia was—things felt cooler.
"Repeat that? I’m no match for that Hilia?"
Suna enunciated each word.
"Yes, Hilia is the perfect angel, you’re just... you’re just..." Mier hesitated.
"Just what?"
"Nothing, just... In short, you’ll never surpass Hilia. Let me go; if you’re after gold coins, I can reluctantly recruit you as the Deville Clan’s follower mage."
"Follower mage? Ha, you’re too weak, not qualified."
Suna laughed coldly, "If you won’t talk, I’ll have to use my methods to make you comply."
"What are you going to do? Don’t touch my clothes, no—hands off!"
Accompanied by Mier’s last terrified cries, nothing significant could be discerned afterward.
Hilia’s curiosity peaked but could only grasp from their conversation that Suna was tearing Mier’s clothes.
"Why is she tearing Mier’s clothes?" Hilia was immensely curious, feeling as if cats were scratching her heart, yet frustratingly unable to see what’s happening inside.
Rose disconnected the mental link at this moment, saying, "Alright, there’s nothing worthwhile to watch next. You’re too young for this sort of thing."
"What sort of thing is it, Lord Rose!"
"_(┐◟;゚д゚)ノ Just tell me!"
However, Rose didn’t reveal what unfolded within, and as Mier’s voice gradually faded, eventually no sound could be heard.
The girl pouted, sulking alone.
Rose chuckled lightly, "Nothing worthwhile to see—seeing it would burn one’s eyes. You only need to know your classmate was taken to become ’Star Fury.’"
"Star Fury?"
The girl didn’t understand, feeling even more bewildered.
