Chapter 315: Chapter 313: Kill Them All

Alina, Rose’s subordinate, one of the Twelve Apostles.

Previously, Hilia knew Alina was an extremely rare Dream Mage.

It seemed there were only two Dream Mages in existence; the other was the Goddess of Destiny, one of the Twelve Main Gods.

Hilia could guess what that meant. After all, the Twelve Apostles corresponded to the Twelve Main Gods, and some apostles’ abilities were similar to those of the gods.

If Rose hadn’t been sealed by the Main God, a new pantheon would have formed.

But if that happened, I suppose I’d be irrelevant?

Hilia stared blankly at the blood-red vial.

"This is Miss Alina’s blood. So, Miss Alina..."

Rose said calmly, "The good news is, Alina’s not dead.

"The bad news is, she might as well be."

"You mean..."

"I won’t say it’s absolute, but it’s highly likely: the place where Alina slept was discovered by a sect called the Polar Blood Alliance. They realized Alina was special, used unknown methods to collect her fresh blood, and used it to make dream-type potions."

Rose looked at the dead pharmacist, coldly: "I searched this person’s memory. He doesn’t know where the blood came from, only that it was shipped from the Land of the Far North. Wonderful."

Hilia immediately asked, "Should we head to the Land of the Far North now?"

The Land of the Far North lies north of the Northern Alliance, covered in ice and snow year-round, rarely visited by humans—an even more forbidden place than the Star Spirit Forbidden Land.

Hilia had read in books that the year there only has ’two days’: six months of daylight, six months of darkness.

Apart from mages who deliberately go there for sightseeing, ordinary people can hardly survive three days in that place. Because of the freezing cold, even under blazing sun, it stays at minus thirty degrees.

There are only glaciers, no plants at all. Animals are limited to some powerful magical beasts.

Even the Icefield Wolf Pack only activity in the outskirts; the center of the Land of the Far North is a mystery for most.

"No rush." Rose shook his head. "From that heretic’s memories, their research on Alina’s blood has lasted over a hundred years. The results didn’t just surface now."

Rose’s apparition walked over, picked up the vial of blood, and handed it to Hilia.

"Tier Ten Mage’s blood—second only to God’s—good stuff. Take it."

Hilia hurriedly took it, still a bit dazed. "Uh..."

"Since it’s already spilled, better to use it than let these heretics waste it or pour it away. Keep it. I’ll teach you how to use it once we’re back."

"Okay."

Hilia stored the blood away.

Rose said coolly, "After your Mage League ends, we’ll go to the Land of the Far North."

Hilia nodded vigorously. "Alright!"

"Right, let’s go to the next room and see what’s in them."

Hilia nodded, scanning the devices in the room, and asked, "Should I destroy them?"

"Yes."

Ice needles appeared again, shredding the entire room into chaos.

Hilia left for outside; outside, people were still focused on making potions, oblivious to the carnage inside the small chambers.

The soundproofing was excellent in these rooms.

The second room was still a heretic’s laboratory, but fortunately, this one seemed used for testing on white rats—nothing from Alina.

She was worried a room would suddenly contain other body parts—a finger, an eyeball—if Rose got angry, he might accidentally crush her.

Thankfully, those things didn’t appear.

Still, since they could extract blood, surely they could extract other tissues?

Hilia dared not think further.

She had another question nagging at her.

Rose said Alina had completed the Ascension God Stairs, but hadn’t become a god, a Tier Ten Mage. How could such a powerful mage be so easily bled by heretics?

Also, isn’t Tier Ten equal to God?

Why, a thousand years ago, when gods still existed, was Tier Ten not godhood?

A cascade of doubts surged forth, but sadly Rose didn’t answer them—she could only bury her curiosity.

Lately, she rarely asked about these things. Rose had said more than once that knowing too much would make her overambitious.

Then Rose’s voice spoke in her ear: "To become a god, besides Tier Ten, one needs a Divine Format. A thousand years ago, Divine Formats could no longer be formed. Alina’s reason for not becoming a god is simple: she couldn’t condense a Divine Format. Same for the other apostles."

"But even if they could condense a Divine Format, I wouldn’t let them. Because what’s left for them are merely lower Divine Formats, suppressed by higher ones. Rather than be suppressed, it’s better to not become gods—use my method, keep advancing, reach a realm equal to gods."

Hilia’s eyes widened: "Lord Rose, you don’t have a Divine Format?"

Rose gave a faint smile: "I don’t have such useless baggage."

"Alright..."

Rose not answering was fine; but now that he did, Hilia found herself with even more questions.

Why is a Divine Format a burden? Why can’t Divine Formats be condensed?

One question resolved, and new ones popped up instantly.

"Your doubts could be discussed for three days and nights and still not be exhausted. That’s why I never told you. Now, I just want you to know: questions are endless. If you want answers, use your own eyes to find them."

"..."

Hilia entered the third room; no potions in this one, only mithril metal engraved with runes.

Fourth room: she found another small vial of Alina’s blood.

The remaining rooms, nothing.

No matter which room Hilia entered, she destroyed everything inside and killed all the pharmacists.

Until the end.

Finally—

She turned back to the widest hall, where pharmacists were reveling in all kinds of addictive toxins.

Rose’s command echoed in her mind.

"Kill them all."

"Yes, sir!"

A violent storm of magic power instantly engulfed the entire hall; those Tier One and Two pharmacists forced out by demonic qi pollution, faced with pure magic power, couldn’t resist at all.

When everything went quiet, Hilia had collected many valuable materials and several Advanced Magic Crystals.

The rest, she incinerated with a Fireball Technique.

Flames engulfed the whole hall.

Hilia didn’t look back, heading for the small laboratories.

"There’s no way out here, but that’s alright. I’ll make you one."

Rose’s voice sounded in her ear.

As she approached the corridor’s end, the wall slowly opened up a passage.

Passing through, Hilia found herself in the outer corridor.

The difference was, this corridor had an end—a large door at the end.

"This is..."

Comparing to the array’s surveillance from outside, Hilia quickly figured out where she was.

"The room where that Tier Four Mage first was!"
