Chapter 279: Chapter 277: Yes, It’s Just a Noble Duel Ending in Mutual Destruction
The remaining people in the hall were as silent as cicadas in winter.
They watched as Anarce stabbed Nosen again and again, and after who knew how many stabs, Nosen finally stopped breathing.
They didn’t dare to move, even slowing their breathing, afraid that any sound might displease Anarce.
It wasn’t until Anarce stopped that the deep blue light around her gradually faded away. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
Soon after, Anarce fell limply to the ground, her body landing next to Nosen’s.
Everyone exchanged looks, but none dared to step forward.
As they hesitated, footsteps suddenly sounded from outside.
Shortly after, a young girl burst in, accompanied by many soldiers clad in the armor of the Ista Empire’s army.
"Hmm... Nosen of the Deville clan and Viscount Kreif fought to the death, ultimately perishing together. Remarkable, truly remarkable."
The girl glanced at the crowd hiding to the side and smiled, "Judging by your clothes, you’re from the Deville family? Hello, I am Princess Benovia Ista. Now, everyone put down your weapons, release the magic puppets, raise your hands, and do not move. The Huijin Guardian is enforcing the law."
The guards rushed into the room, subduing everyone.
Benovia walked over, crouched down, and checked Anarce’s condition, shaking her head slightly, "The situation doesn’t look good. Only Phil can give her a chance at survival. Treat her briefly and take her to the Huijin Divine Hall, hand her to a Holy Priest named Phil."
"As you command, Your Highness."
Two priests came over from the side, placing Anarce on a stretcher and taking her away.
Benovia approached Anarce’s magic puppet and extended her hand.

Ding...
As if triggering the switch of a line of dominoes, the entire puppet began to disintegrate into dust from the point of contact.
Thud!
With a soft sound, the Heart of the Magic Puppet dropped into the dust.
Benovia paused, reaching out her hand to pick up the heart.
But just then, she felt a gentle push from the heart, as if telling her not to touch it.
At that moment, a voice came from beside her.
"What a powerful Heart of the Magic Puppet, Your Highness, we should present this heart to the Emperor. The ground is dirty, allow me!"
As the voice spoke, a hand reached over from the side, touching the heart.
In the next second, that person’s head tilted, and they fell to the ground.
Benovia watched the scene indifferently, showing no expression.
Staring at the softly glowing Heart of the Magic Puppet, she pondered.
"Is this Heart of the Magic Puppet untouchable? But the God’s guidance instructed me to retrieve it, how should I retrieve it..."
Thinking it over, Benovia felt something stir in her heart and summoned a magic puppet to reach out and pick up the heart.
Benovia immediately sensed an unusual force the moment the puppet touched the heart, a force that seemed to strike at her soul.
However, because of the puppet’s barrier, the force didn’t truly affect her soul.
She took out the prepared containment box and placed the Heart of the Magic Puppet inside.
"The God said that with this unique Heart of the Magic Puppet, I have a chance to connect with the God at any time. However... my current strength is insufficient... I need to reach Tier Three... soon!"
That God who helped her elevate, Benovia’s memory of him was already vague, but she was certain that once she saw him again, she would recognize him.
With that in mind, she stored away the Heart of the Magic Puppet and began instructing the soldiers of the guardians to clean up the battlefield.
"Let’s classify this incident as Nosen and Kreif’s private feud, ending in mutual destruction by accident. That girl seemed close to Hilia, save her if possible."
Benovia fell into contemplation.
"That being said, why did the God suddenly give me this guidance?"
"Was it merely to recover this peculiar Heart of the Magic Puppet?"
"Or is it related to Hilia?"
After much thought, Benovia remained convinced that this was somehow connected to Hilia.
It wasn’t long after she returned to her quarters that her subordinates brought her news, presenting her with a report on the investigation of the event.
Reading through the investigation report meticulously, Benovia’s brows relaxed, "So, Nosen intended to target Hilia, orchestrated this revenge plot with Kreif against Anarce, only to have it backfire, leading to his demise at Anarce’s hands... How tragic."
Most of the report detailed how Nosen manipulated Anarce into revenge, only when they probed his brother, Mier, did they uncover the reasons behind Nosen’s actions.
Perhaps this wasn’t even Nosen’s true aim, but delving further might unveil some unimaginable things about the nobility.
Benovia looked at the box containing the Heart of the Magic Puppet.
"This is the only anomaly. If not for this Heart, Anarce couldn’t have achieved such feats. Where did this Heart come from? Was it a gift from Hilia?"
Benovia pondered momentarily before deciding to abandon the investigation here.
"This matter involves the God, we shouldn’t delve too deep. Knowing the general situation is enough. Let’s focus on the training ahead."
...
Hilia became aware of Anarce’s severe injuries the next day, on a Sunday.
She immediately rushed to the Huijin Divine Hall to visit Anarce, who was receiving treatment from Phil.
Her condition was dire, as the Sea God’s Divine Power was transmitted into her body through the magic puppet, leaving her unable to bear the influx of Divine Power. Physically and mentally, she felt as though she were pierced by a thousand arrows, full of holes and leaking air from everywhere.
Even Phil found it a daunting challenge to handle.
"The fact she’s still alive is a miracle."
Hilia thought to herself, "Indeed, a miracle."
Looking at Anarce’s seemingly unscathed exterior, she asked, "Phil, can she be healed?"
Phil nodded, "As long as she was alive when she got here, I can heal her. However, her magic power has completely dissipated, and she may have to start her training from scratch."
"As long as she can be healed, it’s not too late to train." Hilia breathed a sigh of relief.
She looked towards Rose in her heart, asking, "Lord Rose, could you tell me the specifics? I’m... a bit curious..."
Rose smiled without answering.
"Please?ヾ(TдTヾ*)"
Hilia was acting cute.
Rose chuckled softly and said, "It’s quite simple, actually. I intercepted Anarce on her way to take revenge, and replaced her magic puppet’s heart with the one obtained at Southern Border City, granting her the power to defeat a Tier Three Mage. Were it not for her physical limitations to bear such a force, she might have even stood a chance against Tier Four."
"It’s... that simple?" Hilia blinked, "Then why was Benovia the one to bring her here?"
Earlier, when Hilia came to visit, Phil had mentioned that Anarce was brought by someone sent by Benovia.
Rose still wore a smile.
"I don’t know. Perhaps it was a coincidence."
Hilia: "..."
Who’re you fooling, a child?!
