Chapter 81: Two Birds with One Stone.

Losing control was unpleasant.

Actually, unpleasant is an understatement—Cetas felt his entire being screaming out!

His grip on Reid’s arm weakened.

Reid noticed this and quickly grabbed Cetas’ hood.

"Get a grip! Wait- are you?!"

As an expert on Metaphysical Zeal, Reid could see what others could not. His eyes were enhanced to see the soul, therefore, he immediately noticed something wrong with Cetas.

He turned his head to the side.

"Jones, come quick!"

The healer of the Aegir Pirates understood what Reid meant.

After all, they already experienced someone losing control in the crew before!

Jones looked at Galkan and both of their eyes clicked.

Galkan raised his arm and grabbed Jones by the waist with his other hand. Then, with precise aim, he threw Jones over to Reid’s direction.

It wasn’t that strong, so Jones controlled his weight and landed on the mast.

He crouched and focused so as to not lose his balance, then, he reached his arm forward and aimed his palm towards Cetas’ body.

A green hue appeared from his palm, washing over Cetas in an instant.

With that, Cetas could feel his Zeal slowly calmed down. The feeling of losing his existence vanished as the green hue from Jones’ hand covered him.

Cetas let out a deep breath.

"Thanks-"

Before Cetas could express his gratitude to him, the ship then tilted to the side.

They had entered the deeper parts of the whirlpool.

On the positive side, the ship became stable, no longer making the crew struggle to fall.

However, a dire problem remained.

How would they get out of the whirlpool?

As the Aegir continued to sail in the currents, Skadi descended from above.

"Luckily, the giant Leviathan is still engaging with the Leviathan that caused this whirlpool." Skadi said, shifting her head to Jones’ direction, "We still have time."

The brooch now had 5 petals completely turned brown. The 6th petal would soon turn the same..

"A minute and a half.."

Cetas remained on the floor, holding his chest tightly.

"Are you alright? You almost lost control of yourself.." Elishia asked and crouched near him.

She reached into her pockets and brought out a piece of bread.

"Here.. I hope this can alleviate the effects."

"Thank you, Elishia.."

Suddenly, Reid walked over to him.

"What were you thinking?! You can’t simply deplete your Zeal like that! Especially when there’s a Dreadspawn around!"

"Hey back off! He didn’t know!" Elishia interjected.

"Compose yourself, Reid.. Elishia’s right, the boy didn’t know."

Jones then got closer to the three, calming Reid down."

"For now, we should avoid the arguments and focus on surviving. A clash between two Devastations is tasking.."

Reid wanted to say more, his face sour and disturbed. However, he let out a deep breath on his nose.

"Alright.. I acted impulsively."

Just as the ship stirred to the whirlpool, Skadi flew over to the four.

"Jones, hit me up with everything you can.."

The healer smiled, "Got a plan Captain?"

Jones raised his arm and let out different colored particles from it. Instantly, the particles headed over to Skadi’s body.

"Yes, a simple one."

Skadi faced the two clashing Leviathans in the distance.

"Kill two birds with one stone."

"I like that plan!" Galkan’s voice resounded amidst the trouble, "Captain, use this!"

From Galkan’s hand, he threw a golden coin—one side resembling a symbol of the sun, and the other of the moon.

"Thank you, Galkan."

Skadi caught the golden coin with her right hand, and once she did, she immediately shattered it into essence.

Golden light came out from it, sucked out by Skadi’s Zeal.

She became empowered, as if she could cut boulders with her palms and part the seas with her winds.

But most of all, Skadi’s Zeal became enhanced!

The coin that Skadi had used just now was a Blundered III Temporary Zeal Weapon called Day and Night.

Its capabilities provided the user with a tremendous amount of Zeal, as if one were a tree basking in the warm radiance of the sun. Additionally, it gave the user with such precision and potency in their Zeal, sharpening up their strength like the unreachable moon.

Of course, they were only metaphors that Galkan had made up but the effects were highly capable!

If the coins that Galkan used in the fight against the Bloodrenders gave him much strength then how would Skadi fare in one of his best creations.

And right now, she was being buffed by Jones, supplying her with his utmost limits.

Pair that with Galkan’s coin, then Skadi’s deadliness had climbed up several ranks!

As soon as she absorbed the golden essence from Day and Night, dark clouds started to form above them.

It was similar to the clouds back in Seyil, covering the entire sky with darkness.

The clouds roared with thunder, the winds blew tremendously fast, and the waves around the whirlpool became unsettled.

The petals of Jones’ brooch only had 1 petal with gray coloration. However, that too, would be lost soon.

Seconds passed and the petal became overthrown by brown.

It was time.

"Break a leg, Captain!" Galkan patted her back.

Jones nodded in satisfaction, a grin widely painted in his face.

"Go! Captain!" Elishia cheered.

"Kill both of them!" Reid shouted.

Then, Cetas balled his hand into a fist. freēwēbηovel.c૦m

His eyes filled with admiration—admiration of someone that he once wanted to reach!

"Go!"

With the cheers of her crewmates, Skadi immediately turned incorporeal. Her gracious figure soon turned into a green gush of wind.

However, what was left of her figure wasn’t wind at all!

It was lightning!

Traveling at insane speeds, she headed towards the core of the whirlpool.

A giant and an amalgamation of tentacles fought. The tentacles wrapped itself around its foe, and the giant used its bulk to strip away its constrictors.

But a third party soon arrived.

A green lightning came from the skies, the clouds above spiraling towards it!

Skadi dismissed her incorporeal form and manifested her human form once more. She held Windslinger in her left hand, and soon, green sparks emerged from it.

Back on the ship, the petals of Jones’ brooch would soon lose its effect!

But that did not matter at all!

The clouds gathered inside Windslinger, congesting inside to form a great pressure.

And soon, the clouds above vanished!

The sun scorched far above, making the whole world filtered in its light.

And thus, the effects of Jones’ brooch dissipated.

Almost instantly, the two Leviathans stopped their fight and looked at the Aegir in the distance.

But it was too late.

Skadi had already pulled the trigger!

A pillar of light came from above, pulverizing everything in its path!

The pillar was large, several times the size of the Aegir!

And it was enough to tread upon the seas and hit the two Leviathans below!

The pillar of lightning came down for 5 seconds, the seawater beside it evaporating.

Steam churned from the depths, vaporizing everything in the path of the pillar!

When it vanished, sure enough, everything that was hit by it was gone!

In the place of two Leviathans of the rank of Devastation, only two light particles floated in place.

One of blue coloration and the other purple.

Skadi slowly floated down, the green sparks still visible in her surroundings.

Then, she used one hand to grab both of the Zeal Essence and very quickly made her way back at the Aegir.

The sun was clear, shining down on the seas as it slowly returned to normal—no longer spiraling downwards like before.

Still, the residuals of the whirlpool that the tentacles made was evident.

Even the schools of fish, and several life below the depths was disturbed.

The entire ecosystem in this part of the Eastern Heliosian Seas was forever changed.

As Skadi headed back to the Aegir, her crew members had proud looks on their faces.

"Maybe we should’ve done that in the first place.." Elishia laughed.

"Perhaps, but we didn’t have the information as to whether another Leviathan would come.." Jones elegantly noted.

The other crew members talked among themselves.

Meanwhile, Cetas focused on Skadi in the distance.

Her strength is something that he wanted to reach.

Skadi was at the highest level of the Acumen, even higher than a Spire—a High-Level Acumen.

She was on the verge of becoming a Pathfinder, and rightfully so!

Perhaps, if she were to face off with a Sage—a low-level Pathfinder—then Skadi would have a chance to win!

With her display of strength, Cetas knew that she was a great candidate to become a Pathfinder.

How stronger will she get when she ascends?

Cetas wondered.

When Skadi arrived back, the crew thanked her for saving them and cheered for her as she displayed another unimaginable feat.

Cetas, too, joined their celebrations as they welcomed her back with safe arms.

But that was short-lived as things became serious once more.

"Everyone! Settle down!"

Once the crew’s noise quieted down, all of their focus was directed at Skadi.

"In my hands right now are the Zeal Essence of both Devastation-Ranked Dreadspawns. If we have the opportunity, then Galkan can forge these into Zeal Weapons to strengthen our crew. Since the only one without a Zeal Weapon is Elishia, then she will have the priority for the next Zeal Weapon."

Cetas looked at Elishia, her face serious yet her eyes were showing a glimmer of anticipation.

"Still, we don’t know how potent they are just yet.. When Galkan eventually forges these into Zeal Weapons then they will turn into Blundered III Ranks, therefore, it might be a little hard to handle.."

Skadi directed her gaze to Elishia.

"Can you handle it?"

"Aye!"

Skadi nodded.

"Good. Very well then, before another one comes, let us sail off out of here!"

"Aye!" The crew collectively beamed.

The winds grew strong, pushing the sails and the ship out of the devastated seas.
