Chapter 482: Blood Related or Not

[BREAKING NEWS! Waynworth Enterprise has launched a new update for their pods, making it easier for the players who are currently at war to record in places the game originally couldn’t. Currently this new way to live feed can only be done on their brand new application called Echoes...]

Kiro was on the living room couch, it was already dark outside, Isla had just left for home and four of his little siblings were laying on him as the news broke out.

"About time, I’ve rested enough I’d like to think."

"It’s only been a day young master." Wilfred reminded him.

He knew that very well but the sense of security his home was giving him was something he did not want to get used at least not yet, not until they completely remove the stain that threatened their entire world.

But again, Wilfred was correct. He needed to hundred percent heal from his mental and psychological fatigue, one would even argue that going there with half-assed stats was suicide.

"Okay, alright. I’ll give it another day."

Wilfred’s face turned to that of surprise. He knew him to be a stubborn kid that always had to argue even if he agreed at the end, he was ready to argue his points but Kiro agreed so easily.

"Young master, you aren’t going to sneak off to do it anyway right?"

Kiro chuckled, "I happen to agree completely with your assessment. So don’t worry about me, where is mum anyway? I don’t think it’s good for the kids to sleep on me like this."

"She went out with Ms Angelina and Vada, said it has been a while so we shouldn’t wait up."

He didn’t mind, taking care of four newborns, with Alora and sometimes Loki. Even with help it was a bit of a chore, so he understood his mother needed breaks now and then.

"Can you cook?"

"I can make baby food, but that’s about all I can make." He slouched, clearly disappointed that he couldn’t feed them while Angelina and Vada weren’t there.

Just then, Loki walked in with LJ. It looked like they were in a heated argument. Kiro had never seen his younger brother this passionate about anything before.

"I can whip something up." Kiro thought back to his previous life, spaghetti and meatballs was easy to make.

"You two, help me put these kids in there." He beckoned the two that just walked in.

There was an area in the living room, warm and comfortable, big enough for all four of them to nap in while the family was all downstairs.

"Ki, it was you wasn’t it? You’re the one who maxed out our levels?" Loki said excitedly taking Liyana in his arms.

"Keep your voice down. Yeah it was me, what’s the problem?"

He didn’t say anything else just looked at LJ with an ’i told you so’ expression. What shocked Kiro more is the attitude from Loki that seemed to have changed over night, no longer was he that brooding kid who hated everything and pretended he didn’t care.

Now he could even get excited about things like this, it was a pretty good change, Kiro liked it a lot.

"Why aren’t you two at school?"

"When the war was announced, people didn’t believe it at first you know. They thought it was just some game, but there have been weird incidences happening even here in real life, little tremors. You know we haven’t had natural disasters in centuries, which is why people decided to believe it. Schools have been closed since."

It was Wilfred who explained, while they all walked into the kitchen. It was a first for him hearing that something like this was happening, the ancient one was closer than he thought.

"Loki chop this, LJ wash these." He gave them commands since they followed him in the kitchen.

Loki did not complain once again, he got to it. Now that his brother was like the saviour of their world, he thought he was the coolest brother in existence. For the first time in a long time, he fully looked up to him like a little brother should.

"Can I do anything young master?"

"The baby food maybe?"

The kitchen was big enough for all of them, so bumping into each other was not possible. Kiro brought his water to boil, then added a pinch of salt and the spaghetti.

He took out mince meat and started pounding it. Added several spices to give it taste, he then gave it to LJ and Loki to roll it up into balls. While he readied the stove for the sauce.

Kiro took out his phone and started downloading the echoes app, and connected it with his pod. He wasn’t going to do it for money but he needed the world to see, he needed the world to believe that the threat was real, despite it being through a game.

It took a him a few minutes to connect everything and he was back to cooking again.

"I didn’t know you could cook." Loki looked at him skeptically.

"With all those years we watched mum do it, how have you not learned anything?" He teased him.

They were all sat at the table eating, Kiro insisted for Wilfred to join them too, so he did. Raul, the driver, was also invited and so he came. It was a good thing that Kiro cooked enough to feed a school, his food was so good that people were asking for seconds.

"I’ve been watching the war, I think the whole world has. If it was not for the scar across your eye that was not there before, I don’t think I would’ve believed it even with the tremors." Raul said dishing himself a third time.

Wilfred shot him a deadly look but Kiro was not offended.

"Of course it would be hard to believe. If I hadn’t personally experienced either, I’d find it hard to believe."

It was farfetched no doubt, if he hadn’t met Kronos, if he hadn’t shown him the old world, even he would be in denial by now.

"That smells good, my wife is amazing." Sekani entered with Philip.

"Your wife happens to be your son." Loki said laughing like a madman.

He didn’t wait to be told he dished for himself, "Ki made this?" He asked with a mouthful. It was definitely different from his wife’s cooking but it was delicious all the same.

"Well, I suppose you could say mum cooked since I learned from watching her." He shrugged.

They were all laughing and conversing, having spaghetti and meatballs. Kiro looked around, he felt the warmth and the love. Blood related or not, this was his family now and the time to protect them by any means necessary was nigh.
