Kiro was frozen in place not out of fear but confusion. There was no way she could be here could she? That's what he was contemplating, not wanting to turn around.

"Ki?" The voice echoed again jerking him out of his stupor, his heart threatened to break his ribcage, somehow he knew that this was a trick because there was no way...

Without giving it much thought, his unconscious mind sent the message straight to his brain and the body obeyed, he turned slowly facing the voice.

"Mum?"

He didn't see her, not really but there was a silhouette at a greater distance than the voice sounded to be. From just the silhouette, he could tell that it was indeed Freya but logically he knew it was impossible.

"Help me Ki, it's going to, it's going to kill me."

Before he knew it, before he could even stop himself his body moved on its own, heading straight for his mother's voice. He had lost a lot in the past, the thought of them in danger was too unbearable even though he knew deep inside it was a trick.

It was fortunate that blink was still working, he didn't consider that he might be travelling outside Hubris' radius, he just wanted to save his mother, he couldn't bear losing any of them again.

The closer he came, the farther away the silhouette seemed to be, frustration was starting to build up from within when suddenly a sharp pain coming from his abdomen lifted the veil.

As it turned out, he hadn't moved an inch from where he originally stood. Instead a crimson liquid trickled from his stomach and bounced off the ground making more noise than it should have.

Kiro only blinked once and the hole on the side of his abdomen seemed to have appeared out of nowhere, his hands were shaking as he reached for the wound just to see if it was as deep as he perceived it to be.

But there was a single problem, when his hand reached the wound he couldn't feel it with his hand despite his eyes telling him it was there. The pain also made it the more real, his eyes told him one thing, his sense of touch told him another. He didn't quite know what to believe.

The woman who had taken his mother's being still stood there at a distance the only difference now was the fact that she was laughing, maniacally. A cackling he'd only ever heard from witches in old movies he'd watch.

'Back at home, in our home theatre, watching movies with my friends. That would be nice wouldn't it?' He thought to himself, struggling to stand, sweat trickled from his forehead as though someone had turned on the heat.

He looked up, the silhouette was still there, mocking him.

The feeling of disgust was immeasurable as the feeling of wanting to save the imposter didn't go away and it instead compelled him to run forward, despite knowing what awaited him if he did, more wounds that could only be seen and not touched.

"Fuck, is this the power of the ancient one then?" He muttered to himself trying to think about anything else but the woman whom he wanted to save. Kiro contemplated ways in which they could fight such power, such illusions, he commended Kronos for creating the world in-between to give them a fighting chance.

'How does it even know my mum? Wouldn't it be more reasonable to pretend to be Isla?'

His breathing was laboured for a moment but as seconds ticked by it was steadying. Now that he understood the illusion, he wouldn't let it override his senses, at least he would try.

The energy that felt clogged when he got here was starting to flow freely within his veins and Kiro welcomed the feeling. He was careful not to rush the process, remembering the first time Kaos made itself known to him.

A chaotic energy capable of consuming the user if they were not careful enough. While he could feel it's hunger, he could also feel that it didn't mean him no harm.

"Isn't this a little too real?" He complained at that moment it was as if Kiro was hit by a divine hand if realisation.

He could see, at last, his vibrational skill was working. He breathed a sigh of relief, it had been a terrible experience walking into this space blind as a bat.

Though his vision was very much still a little blurred, he was happy that he could at least pick up vibrations in the world they were in.

He clenched a tight grip on Ryu because he could feel something was coming. If he was in Asgard he would've been able to discern whether the oncoming were friend or foe but here was different, not that he was complaining Kiro was very glad to have his vibrations back. Whatever it was, he could always fight it.

"Master, are you okay? I came as soon as I could."

He breathed a sigh of relief, "Dammit Hubris, I almost skewered you with my staff. Don't sneak up on people."

Hubris couldn't hide his confusion, he knew his master as someone who knew all, saw all and thrashed enemies with his overwhelming strength like ants.

"Looks like whoever controls this space has quite the strong illusions." Kiro said more to himself but Hubris heard him nonetheless.

"Strong? Master?" Hubris couldn't hide his surprise at his master's words, the illusions were there he could see them too but he could differentiate between reality and them.

They had a distinct energy about them, almost like a distortion, something that couldn't be seen by the naked eye but with his sharp nose, Hubris had no problem sensing them.

He was just surprised that someone he thought was the strongest he had ever seen was telling him that these things were so strong. It completely slipped his mind that he was a hellhound, something that was akin to a god, something that inevitably would be stronger than its master.

"Help me up, will ya?" Kiro was on the ground, breathing heavily, this place didn't agree with him at all.
